Service, drinks and appetizer were good. New York steak was terrible. Ordered it rare, received it medium. Could barely cut through it with a steak knife. Way too much gristle.
We asked for a simple California roll and they wouldn't accommodate it. Our service was slow.
Our server, Cat, was amazing. Very knowledgeable about the area and attentive to our needs. Lovely “date night” with my husband
We were very happy with our lunch yesterday. Our server Paul was outstanding and took care of our every need.
With all of the many options and excellent choices in Coronado the Bluewater Grill is one to avoid. Although we made a reservation for 5 we were seated at a cold drafty, half outside, 4 top. The food was very disappointing. Even the bread was like a rock. This beautiful location is wasted and comes at a high price.
Went specifically for the lobster pot pie tasting event. Started with a Mai Tai which was the best I'd had in a long time. The pot pie was large, filled with good sized pieces of lobster and had a very flaky crust. Had creme brulee for dessert which was superb - very creamy with a perfectly crackled caramel top. Ashley, our server, was attentive, but didn't hover. All drinks and courses were brought to the table in a very timely fashion. It was very quiet for a holiday evening and the decor had been changed since our last time there and we found it to be very stark.
The service was great and the seafood was even better. Halibut and black cod we're outstanding.
Clean, bright and attractive decor. Wait staff super friendly. Cioppiino was very tasty and delicious except for the calamari which was tough and rubbery. The sauce was excellent— not sour like some tomato sauces can be. Lobster roll had plenty of lobster and was served with melted butter and a very good coleslaw. It was great to have a “real” sour dough bread!
This was our second visit to Bluewater. We had had lunch here, and this was a dinner visit. The food was delicious, and our server, Clarissa, was friendly, helpful, and delightful. I got the Rock Lobster tail and my wife got the Sanddabs.
The blackened Halibut was fabulous!!! The service excellent! One of my favorite restaurants in Coronado.

We will absolutely return! Our experience was excellent. My friend had been here before on a previous trip and couldn't wait to bring me this time. The service was impeccable, and the food was absolutely delicious! We started with the New England clam chowder and the Manhattan clam chowder, both were excellent. The sourdough bread served with butter was perfect, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. For our main course, we shared the surf and turf, which was more than enough for two. The lobster tail was cooked perfectly, the steak was done exactly to order, and the scalloped potatoes were incredibly flavorful. Everything was just fantastic!
We always enjoy dining here. Theaters were delicious. The service was exceptional. Great staff. We'll be back.
The fish is always excellent and so is the service. We love going here and the fact that it has parking is wonderful.
The ambiance, views and service were superb! I loved my rockfish and the spiny lobster special! The grilled octopus was too smoky so don't recommend and wouldn't recommend a burger, at least from the kids menu.
Fun atmosphere & amazing chowders!
