Left my stuff at the table then went inside to get a coffee.. about 5 people behind the counter and still waited for 4 mins only customer in line by the way. Went outside to sit down only to be kicked out because they were doing a photo shoot. So much for customer service.

Had a great experience at Clayton Café! Patton, our server, was attentive and friendly, making us feel right at home. The food was delicious and came out promptly. I especially loved the back patio; it’s a charming spot to relax and enjoy a meal. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in town!

The vanilla frosting on the cake is extremely good. Best I have purchased at a store and not made.

Great little bistro & bakery in Coronado. The food, drinks, and pastries are delicious! They have a small restaurant side and then a take out bakery side.

We had originally went to eat at day and night cafe. The service was so poor over there, the host didn’t even acknowledge us and made us feel invisible that we decided to come over to the bakery. So glad we did. We were instantly treated with kindness. The host told us to sit where ever we wanted and offered to clean a seat for us in the front. Complete shift in vibes. We sat in the back and our server was very kind and attentive. Food was pretty good. I would say the atmosphere was just amazing. Beautiful table and love the lavender and herbs right next to our table.
Would eat here again. Food and service was great. Alcoholic drink madame lavender was also top notch. Created some nostalgia from relatives that have recently passed and we are so happy we didn’t go to day and night cafe.

My Chai Latte and and Croque Madame were 5 stars of perfection. It was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had!! My friends ordered the burger (also 5 stars), the French Onion Soup (2 stars) and the Frittata (2 Stars). It was super busy, and the staff were struggling to keep up on a Sunday.
I would give it 5 stars based on my meal, but two of my friends were pretty disappointed in their food, which I tried and agree with. So, just order the Croque if you want something fabulous.

We had a decent experience here. I will say, it seemed like they were a little short staffed. We saw our waiter maybe a couple times. There was another young lady who would come by and help him by refilling our waters. We did appreciate that. The food was delicious. It was also large portions for the price. I thoroughly enjoyed my iced horchata latte. We sat out back and it was peaceful and we could chat easily.

Overall, it was a good experience. I think they need more staff. Our waiter seemed to have a lot of tables and that’s why I think we didn’t see him but 2-3 times (take our order, make sure food is good and then check).

Our family was here visiting for my kids fall break and birthday. We ordered a red velvet cake recommended by the hotel. She took one bite and said I don’t like it. The red velvet cake was Brown. Far from a southern red velvet cake. I have a photo.

Absolutely awful service for our party and the tables around us. Two parties actually got up and left. The food was great but I’ve never been somewhere where the employees seemed so bothered to serve everyone. It was not crowded and the staff seemed more concerned with talking to one another than taking orders or checking on guests. We had to ask for everything from silverware, refills, sauces, and the check. I’m so appalled that this place has the audacity to charge the prices they do for such horrible service.

I’m honestly confused by all the positive reviews because our visit this weekend was really disappointing. Maybe it was just an off day, but some things felt inexcusable. The bagel we were served was so dry and hard it could’ve cracked a tooth, and the beignets tasted like leftovers which were firm and far from freshly made. Even the fruit dish was concerning, as the berries were beginning to mold (at the very least, those parts should’ve been cut out).

For the prices they charge, I expected much better quality. The area itself is beautiful, but unfortunately, the food didn’t come close to matching the setting. You’re better off eating elsewhere.

Went to the bakery again today and the service was, once again, terrible. There’s no acknowledgement or offer by the two other people in the store to help the line of customers. I was behind a woman who took forever, and none of the 3 employees thought it great to help those waiting.

They answered phones, chatted amongst themselves, but couldn’t offer to help move the line along. 3 of us in line had our order ready, couldn’t been done and out and then let you all focus on the big spender. It was gross, honestly.

I left after waiting for 20 minutes with more people in line, and no end to the other woman’s requests. I want to love this place, it’s cute and the treats are tasty, but the staff stinks. Totally let down.
