Every meal our table of five ordered was absolutely delicious - wonderfully prepared and presented halibut, lobster roll, scallops, steak and a calamari appetizer. We also managed to share two yummy creme brûlée after the meal.
Just happened to search restaurants on Coronado Island. Found this, great location, history. Wine choices excellent and seafood better than expected
Table outside was the only one without heaters. We were cold throughout dinner and our food became cold within minutes. Maybe we just were given the worst table in the restaurant.
Best restaurant in Coronado, the service is excellent, and the food is great, best quality and fresh products. Congratulations! The only thing missing is expresso coffee.
Seafood salad was good. Clam chowder was very good. Server was over worked and thus was not very attentive.
I had shared before arriving that we were celebrating our 20th in the notes and had called weeks ahead of time requesting nothing special other than a nice seat with a view. Being at the 5 o'clock hour when it's actually scarce lots of open tables. My wife had to sit underneath the lower portion of the roof as I'm too tall. I get the view of the harbor she gets the view of the corner. Our table leaned along with needed leveling support because it rocked back& forth. It's not rocket science, fix it!! Service actually sub par never asked if my wife would like more coffee. Did ask how the food was. The food was excellent. The table next to us which featured a view for both of us was occupied by a single person working on their computer. Thankfully my original backup plan came through the night before where we were able to dine at Lelia's. At the end after being dessert & we declined. Our server can't back with a bowl of ice cream a lit candle a nicely wished us a happy 20th. They didn't have to do that it wasn't expected but we were $$ thankful. We'll return again like I said the food is awesome. But they seriously need to do some maintenance.
My husband and I really enjoyed our visit to Bluewater Grill on Coronado. The food was excellent! I had shrimp and scallops pasta. The scallops were about the best I've ever had. Once the service arrived, our waiter was very nice. My only complaint was how long it took to actually get the service. We sat for 20 minutes before we even had water on the table. Drinks took another 10 minutes. The restaurant was not overly crowded. Hopefully this was just because the server was new or some other temporary issue. I would still recommend the restaurant.
1) we had a 5 pm reservation for 2 and asked for a view. when we arrived we asked for an inside table with window view. hostess sat us outside. it was chilly and sun in my wife's eyes as sun went down. We asked to move indoors to a window table. we were moved indoors, but the hostess refused to give us one of the three open window tables, one of which remained open throughout our meal. Our table was ok though with a decent view. The hostess sat the next couple outside at the table we did not like - i guess they try to seat at this less desirable table early on to fill it up, as the restaurant fills up... 2) Sourdough bread was awesome! Make sure to enjoy. Cocktails good. My wife had the tuna or rockfish with a pesto with artichoke fritters - this was SUPER AWESOME. I had the swordfish which was also EXCELLENT. Really enjoyed the food. 3) Waiter was snarky to us but brought us our food and warmed up as we talked with him more. 4) Overall pleasant experience, just brought up the table issue so you are prepared to ask for the inside table if needed.
Our dining experience at the Bluewater Boathouse was excellent. Our server was very sweet and helpful, our food, which was lobster roll and rockfish were delicious and we really enjoyed our dinner. We will definitely go back.
Could this be the best seafood restaurant in SD? Great views, food and service. Couldn't ask for anything better

Swordfish was very fresh and delicious. Service was very good. I would go again for the fresh seafood.
Great selection of seafood dishes. Clam chowder soup was amazing. Enjoyed the food so much we came back 2 days later!
First, the good news - they have the BEST New England Clam Chowder ever!!! I could eat a vat of that stuff! Finally a place that puts more clams in their chowder than potatoes! It was absolutely delicious! My step-daughter had the salmon and she loved it. Her husband enjoyed the short rib pappardelle and ate every bite. Now for the not-so-good news - after devouring my cup of clam chowder, I had the New England Lobster Roll. It was ok - a bit bland to be honest and the roll wasn't toasted even though the menu indicated it would be. Turned out it tasted a bit stale without being toasted. Not sure I'd order that again. My husband had the bouillabaisse and he was disappointed. It had zero spice to the broth and actually, the broth tasted "fishy" and not fresh. He wouldn't order that again either. For more good news - we sat outside and it was really a beautiful evening. Great place to enjoy dinner. Our server was very friendly - sorry I don't remember her name. We will definitely return to Bluewater Boathouse soon!
The food was awesome, the setting was beautiful, the reception was awesome, the wine list was great. We had a great time!!
Food was fabulous. For a Thursday early evening it was quite loud and the place was packed. I think there were several large celebrations going on. Didn't mind it as service was great and we could still hear each other speak. We were fortunate to find parking but I think for some it was a nightmare.
