Had a Navy retirement get together with a bunch of people coming in and out. Everyone at the Tavern was great and kept the drinks and food flowing. Tavern is our favorite restaurant on the island. Thank you

Patrick

Food and service were both great. One of the better values on the Island for our needs. It just struck me as off the way the service staff was dressed. Not beachy, or any effort at a uniform, or event T-shirts. More like jeans with holes, and total grubby. It just caught my attention. Overall, a great experience.'Chef Itzei does good work !

Overall very average. My sons steak was borderline raw (ordered medium) My steak, there was so much oil on the plate was overwhelming. Pot pie was fantastic. Overall just ok wouldn't go out of way for dinner but would definitely go in for drink and watch a game.

The drinks here are always so excellent! She had the corn soup, and I had the wagyu tacos. Both make my mouth water thinking about them. The charcuterie board is a must-have every time we are here.

Hannah was awesome and a good amount of attentiveness. Food came out hot and the ambiance was very welcoming, we were surprised it was a basement restaurant but it impressed us nonetheless! Will return on our next visit to SD.

Good food, good music, great service, thank you Dana. We had Cavatappi Mac & Cheese with bacon on top, pork belly tostadas, Caesar salad and the grilled picanha wagyu steak. Everything was delicious!

Rosie was very pleasant as our server. The atmosphere is rustic and chic! Very comfortable booths and fresh flowers and real candles on each table. Cocktails were interesting and very good. The food was excellent. Goat cheese flatbread was our favorite! The burger super tasty and the red leaf pear salad with peach dressing was yummy.

While staying nearby, in downtown San Diego, we came to Coronado for the evening and stopped in here… We decided on The Tavern because of all the great reviews and this place definitely didn’t disappoint! Our service was excellent, from the host greeting & seating us, to our server and the speed of our service. The menu was really nicely done, loaded with nice bar bites, as well as bigger plates. Wine line and cocktails are done quite nicely here too. We started with their Mexican shrimp which was grilled and served with their romesco – It was OUTSTANDING! The shrimp was fresh and tasted great on their own, but the sauce and pickled veggies were a very nice touch. But while eating this, we were still deciding on main courses and after seeing the sliders walk by, I wanted those. I NEVER order sliders, as they’re typically overdone. But something about the way these looked and the description of them and their burger in the menu told me I was in for a treat. I most definitely had some of the BEST hamburger I’ve ever had! The sliders were the best for sure, but if they do their burgers that same way (referring to the meat, which is local grass fed beef, hand packed, perfectly cooked to temp over a wood flame, with a kiss of smoke to the fatty parts of the meat – WOW!), then they probably make some of the best burgers I’ve ever had! Highly recommend stopping in!

The Tavern is located on the main street of Coronado a few blocks from the Famous Coronado Hotel. There is a long bar with a couple of televisions and lots of tables and booths. The brick walls and exposed pipes make it look like the restaurant has been there for a long time but actually it has been open for only a few years. The lunch and dinner menus have a lot of interesting choices. We were there for lunch and ordered beef sliders with fries and fish tacos. The food was very good and Hannah the server was friendly and efficient. I had a margarita which was good but much too small for $13. Also if going anywhere in Coronado beware that it is difficult to find a parking space anytime.

Cool venue and delicious food! We had the pork chop and the filet mignon. Both were perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and the sauces were lovely. The Brussel Sprout appetizer was one of the best we've had, as well. We will definitely be back!

Great location and the BEST tomato soup. Salads are small, but fresh and delicious. A perfect place to enjoy a drink before walking to the waterfront area.

We picked this restaurant because we had to watch a particular college football team play, and wanted a place that had TV’s and good food. We found the perfect place at the Tavern! The service was great (Danna?), the cocktails were perfect and the food was delicious! We had the tomato soup, chicken pot pie and halibut tacos. We topped it off with hot peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream-YUM! We would definitely return and recommend this place!
