Beautiful walk

Wonderful spot for a date night with gorgeous sunset views. The food was delicious, just a little under-salted but there are salt and pepper shakers on the tables so it was a quick fix. Their potato wedges were honestly some of the best I’ve had and you can never go wrong with burrata.Dietary restrictions: They do have gluten free pasta available though it’s not made fresh like the non GF pasta.

We hosted a wedding dinner for 30 guests on their private outdoor patio. It’s a beautiful waterfront setting with views of downtown SD. The banquet menu offered something for everyone as did the appetizer menu. All were exceptional , especially the squash blossoms. I’d order them as my meal next time. The entire staff from servers to cooks to management, especially Antonella, made the celebration exactly what the bride and groom wanted. We hosted an open bar plus champagne and wine which is why our per guest amount was $100+ and worth every penny. If you’re looking for a place to host a family gathering look no further. Five stars are not enough for the service and food they offer.

We are locals in Coronado and have dined at Il Fornaio regularly for lunch for many years. We enjoy the fine quality of the cuisine and the rotating specials which keeps us coming back for something different. The big bonus is that on most Monday’s to Wednesday’s we can bring our own bottle of wine without paying a corkage fee. The staff, Lucca, Demitro, Jorge, Leo and many others make us feel very welcome. It’s always a pleasure to return to Il Fornaio to enjoy the wonderful food, look at the great views and visit with our friends who work there. Grazie!

Good place to enjoy a view and a decent Italian bite if you find yourself on Coronado Island. The Tagliatelle Bolognese had a nice flavor and was a generous portion. The Lasagna Ferrarese looked amazing coming out tasted pretty good. Both dishes could have used tad bit more seasoning but overall food quality way better than Olive Garden as other reviews mentioned. Topped it off with Salted Caramel Ice Cream/Gelato which was true to it's name and tasted good and the Tiramisu was above average but nothing to write home about. Window seats gave an excellent view of Downtown SD and service was top notch.

Our party of 4 waited 30+ minutes for anyone to approach our table and then after ordering drinks it took another 30 minutes for the drinks to arrive and then only after getting up and approaching the waiter and asking him to get his act together and bring the drinks.I ordered the beet salad and it had no resemblance to the wonderful beet salad of the past. This was a plateful of arugula topped with some tiny beet cubes instead of the sliced beets I was expecting. The soup was barely warmAll in all this was a $200.disappointing meal. Such a beautiful restaurant in a a great setting but such indifferent attention to service and quality. Probably won’t go back.
