Very limited menu with mainly raw fish and oysters. Tried to order the raw fish cooked but the chef wouldn't do it. Very expensive for small portions. The clam chowder was in a bread bowl, hot and delicious! Small restaurant with a shared bathroom next door.

We had the Barnzino fillet and the fish ceviche. The food was good. The value wasn’t good. Two entrees and two non-alcoholic drinks for $97. The service was a little weird. They were very friendly with some customers and not so much with others. Not a big deal, just an observation. If you want good Mexican style seafood there are plenty of good places off Coronado. Kyrios Mariscos has two food truck locations in SD that are worth the drive.

La Corriente is the best mexican seafood restaurant in San Diego. Way better than El Viejon & Karinas. I frequent Tijuana regularly and usually the food is way better in TJ. This place allows me to have my Ceviche fix without crossing the border. Fernando also provided top notch service. Will definitely be coming back!

HORRIBLE SERVICE! I don’t ever leave reviews but this one was necessary. Save yourself the time and don’t go. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Yesterday (Sunday) 10/26/25 around 1 pm my husband and I went to have lunch at this new location. We love this place and often go to their Tijuana and La Jolla locations.
When we arrived to check in with the hostess we noticed that the restaurant wasn’t that full so we thought we would be seated within a reasonable time. My husband proceeded to say hi in Spanish and she immediately began speaking English, my husband and I are bilingual so we just went along with it and spoke English. The hostess overheard my husband and I speak Spanish to each other and all of a sudden said “Oh! You speak Spanish, that’s easier” which we were a little confused by because we greeted her in Spanish. We thought her behavior was odd but we didn’t pay much attention to it since we were excited to try this new location. She then told us that the wait time would be around 30-45 minutes for indoor seating which we thought was reasonable, the hostess then took our phone number and told us she will call us when the table was ready so we decided to go back and wait in our car for a call.
30 ish mins passed and my husband and I decided to walk back to just check in and ask if we would be seated soon and how much longer we would wait. Again we didn’t mind waiting a little longer since that’s the estimated time she gave us.
This is where it really went south…
The hostesses (2) then proceeded to tell us that they are so sorry but they won’t be able to seat us until 5 pm and that we should start looking for somewhere else to eat. She then said they have online reservations before us and 100 people seated at the restaurant (which I have no idea where they come from. When we arrived the restaurant wasn’t even half way full). She then said that by 5 pm it would be less busy if we would like to wait or make another reservation.
Keep in mind it was 2 pm at this point. If she knew it was BUSY when we got there then why make us wait for a table we would never get.
We left and I went on their open table reservation to check if what she was saying was true and found they had an open reservation for 2:45 pm. At that point I was upset because she clearly lied and just didn’t want us to eat there.
I am beyond DISAPPOINTED at the service and won’t be back ever. No one should feel humiliated when going out to eat.
For management, please train your employees on how to be welcoming to guests and to be well informed on the restaurants reservation system.
I really wanted to like this place since their tostadas are so good, but I would rather eat somewhere else on the island where I won’t be treated like dirt.
I really hope you guys take this into consideration and make the necessary changes to give your guests the best experience.
This place is amazing
