An absolutely unforgettable dining experience. The 40 day dry aged beef was nothing short of spectacular rich, deeply flavorful, and cooked to perfection with that unmistakable nutty, buttery complexity only true dry aging can deliver. We shared it between four people alongside a selection of perfectly paired sides, and somehow still left completely overwhelmed in the best way possible. Without question, one of the finest steaks I’ve ever had in my life.

This place deserves all the praise. Do yourself a favor and skip any big chain restaurant and come here. The prices are extremely reasonable for the quality and portion size. Amazing French cuisine that won't break the bank. The staff are super friendly, the atmosphere is friendly, and the food is AMAZING.

Where do I begin? Butcher Brasserie was a major letdown. Several of us ordered the sausages, and about half the group agreed they were disappointing. The fish was gamy while the ribeye was a big miss—very chewy and not worth the $74 price (steak + fries). For a place that presents itself as a butcher-style restaurant, the meat quality and preparation were below expectations. We also tried a bottle of Cabernet, which we didn’t enjoy and ended up switching to a Syrah-Grenache instead.
Overall, this place does not live up to the ratings and is not a place we would return. A restaurant focused on meat should be able to execute it well, and that wasn’t the case here. They also charge for every little thing—$30 for corkage, $3per person for cake cutting, and even the bread basket comes at an extra cost. The constant add-on charges made the experience feel nickel-and-dimed. Overall, this place doesn’t justify a return for the 10 of us.
We ate here with friends in a group of 4. The dinner was excellent, particularly the meat. We had rib eye, hanger steak and filet. The steaks were perfectly cooked and very flavorful. Creme brulee was on point.

Amazing experience, the ambiance was wonderful, but not as amazing as the service was. Leo was very kind and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. I got the ribeye and was floored. I asked for medium rare, but closer to the rare side and the steak came out exactly how I wanted it. 10/10 would recommend to anyone

Hitting it on all cylinders now, this has quietly turned into one of the best French restaurants in so cal. Although the menu is very limited, not much besides steaks, the which I'm not a big fan of, but all
the regular French things they do they do very well

Butcher’s House Brasserie delivered an absolutely exquisite dining experience. Chef Jeoffrey Offer and his team run a restaurant that truly captures the spirit of classic French cuisine in Costa Mesa.
The duck confit was the height of French cooking—perfectly crisp on the outside, tender and rich inside, and beautifully balanced in flavor. The filet was exceptional, clearly top-quality beef and cooked exactly right.
What really made the evening stand out was the attentive service. The staff was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely focused on creating a memorable experience.
We often dine at The Capital Grille, and honestly, this was an even nicer experience at a far more palatable price.
If you’re looking for one of the best French restaurants in Costa Mesa or Orange County, Butcher’s House Brasserie is an absolute gem. Five stars all the way. 🇫🇷🥩🍷

Visited on Sunday, mellow vibe. All the staff are French! Wife had Duck Confit. I had a Ribeye with fries. Nice wine selection.
Staff are very welcoming, helpful and seem to enjoy their work.
Absolutely will repeat. I really want the Duck Confit!

Butcher’s House Brasserie offers a really good steak for the price — flavorful, cooked right, and satisfying without the premium‑steakhouse markup. The atmosphere feels upscale and stylish, giving the whole meal a more elevated vibe than you’d expect at this price point. Service was smooth and attentive, which made the experience even better. Overall, a great spot if you want quality steak in a nice setting without overspending.
