I’ve been coming here for a few years now when it was La Vida Cantina. There have been so many changes with their menu. During the last few months when it was still La Vida, the food and vibes were great. A new modern restaurant was then introduced which serves Mexican American dishes. At the very beginning of this transition, the food was appetizing and full of flavor. They had the best dessert that my sister and I always preferred. But about 2-3 months ago, the food and the service went downhill. It almost seems like they’re using canned food and cheap ingredients. The side dishes taste like yesterday’s food and not fresh at all. Unfortunately, I no longer order off their food menu and only come to enjoy their drinks. I hope they improve the quality of the food soon!

INCREDIBLE is an understatement! From the ambiance, to the service, to the impeccably currated menu. Just WOW. The attention to detail on every aspect at Casa De Onda was perfection. The tropical margarita was a show stopper, fresh lime and coconut is a combo I didn’t know I needed. The steak frites melted in you mouth & was topped with a homemade Chimichurri that was a burst of fresh flavor. The vibes from start to finish we insane! 1000/10.

I was in town for a quick trip and stopped by this plaza for a bite — so glad I chose Casa de Onda! The staff was super friendly; I got to chat with the bartender, and it was nice seeing how they interacted with the regulars too. The food was incredible! My girlfriend still won’t stop talking about the birria quesadillas! The vibe here is what really sets it apart. It has that perfect Tulum feel; relaxed, stylish, and totally immersive. You honestly forget you’re even in a plaza. I didn’t get to check out the nightlife this time, but I’ll definitely be back for it next trip.
