We have been to multiple speakeasies across the country. So this sounded fun. But....
Had no idea how to even get in. The door was locked. No ideahow to figure it out. So we left and went to Ruin across the street. Wish it was more clear how to even enter the bar.
The other places at least made it clear how to enter like a password or a cryptic code.

I was influenced by instagram to come here. The decor was odd. The drinks were a little too unique for me. The live music was good but loud so hard to hear each other talking. One of the bartenders was a little rude when asked to remove one of the ingredients from a drink she stated that it would not be enjoyable then two girls sat next to us in chairs and she told them that they couldn’t sit there with attitude. Also the bartenders kept slamming their drinks and shakers which was loud and obnoxious plus they kept splashing the drinks on my arms. Others seemed to be enjoying themselves but just wasn’t for me.

As someone who always loves to find the speakeasy places in the states, I did have a lot of fun here. I did go on a slow week day and for me that made it more enjoyable with friends. Definitely has a good/fun setup for the speakeasy atmosphere.

Bartender was way slow too making drinks. We were there for 45 min and only 6 people (including us) in the whole place. We were only able to order one round of drinks. Took another 15 min to close our tab, I litterally had to wave my arms to try to get her attention to close out but she ignored me. She later on told me she saw me but she was busy (talking to her co-worker). She never acknowledged me for one and could have gave me hand gesture that she saw me and will get to me. Worse bar experience I had at a bar, especially when it was a very slow night. Never going back for sure, good concept, very very bad customer service! One hour and only one drink, I would've at least ordered 3 round of drinks but she completely was soo slow and too rude, couldn't wait to get out of there!
A little cramped but fun
Speakeasy in Costa Mesa! It’s located in the Camp, on the backside near Salty Bear. There’s a parking lot right there in the back. You can walk through the front door if it’s early. If the door is locked, you will knock and someone will open the door window to check your ID. Once you walk through the first door, you will enter through a second door to your right. The bar is an eclectic western theme and very dark inside. It’s a friendly place with great drinks, knowledgeable bar staff. Small place though with limited seating, so not recommended for large parties. If you go late it can get crowded. There may be a wait. They always have live DJs with good mixed sets. Drinks are average $20+ (but worth it).
When we first went to this bar, we met a bartender named August. He was very charming and friendly. But what really made him stand out was that he was extremely knowledgeable as a mixologist. We’ve had many disappointing experiences with other cocktail bar bartenders/mixologists. They were either hesitant to go off menu, have poor assessment of your taste, or didn’t understand the concepts of curating a balanced cocktail (without just following a recipe). August always hit the mark and would ask for feedback. Every time we told him what we wanted and asked him to make bartenders choice, he’d get creative we’d appreciate. My bf is getting into mixology and loves making conversations with bartenders to learn more. August also remembers clients by name! So every time we’ve been back, we’d try to go early enough to chat with August. We recommend stopping by and checking this place out!

Clever idea, overpriced, mediocre drinks, crowded and slow service.
Cool speakeasy near the CAMP area in Costa Mesa with a cowboy theme. Some poodle decore but mostly cowboy themed. Drinks are good but no better than any decent bar. Place is super small so odds of getting seating might be low. Good date place to grab a drink before or after dinner. Chicks will dig it.

My experience at this establishment was extremely chaotic and disappointing. Despite arriving on a Saturday night, we faced an almost hour-long wait to get in, only to find the interior cramped and overcrowded. After finally snagging a spot at the bar, we were promptly asked to move because the area was reserved, leaving us with nowhere to comfortably stand.
As for the drinks, they were a major letdown. Whether too sour or overly sweet, they missed the mark on balance and craftsmanship. Frankly, they hardly resembled proper cocktails; opting for liquor on the rocks seemed like the safest bet.
Overall, the combination of the disorganized atmosphere and lackluster drinks left me wishing I could rate this place zero stars.
