Tbh, the food is good, but i was expecting amazing. The Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao (pork soup dumpling) was the best item we tried, followed closely by the Chocolate & Mochi Xiao Long Bao (chocolate dessert). Other than these two items, everything else was just okay. What I was pleasantly surprised about was the price. The size of each item was smaller than expected, but so was the price. The service was EXCELLENT! The restaurant was packed with a two hour waiting list!#dintaifung #Taiwaneserestaurant #dintaifungsouthcoastplaza #southcoastplaza #taiwanesefood #noodles #dumplings #cucumbersalad #xiaolongbao

Honestly the food is very mid. It is overpriced - $15 for side of green beans??? The Szechuan noodles were in my opinion, very bad, almost zero Szechuan taste. The xiao long bao and pork spicy wontons (not even spicy) were good, but again, I have had WAY better for much lower prices and did not have to wait an hour to be seated. If you are not that familiar with Asian food, you will probably enjoy it, but to me, it was not very authentic, not worth the hype, and not worth the wait.

If you haven't tried this dim sum, you're truly missing out on the BEST Dumplings you'll ever experience. The spicy chicken (it isn't really spicy) wonton, the cucumber salad, the Xao bao, the Taro Dumplings, the chocolate Dumplings, the beef szchwuan and the sticky rice cakes. YASS! One of the things that makes my trip to OC worth it!They don't accept reservations and the lines are intense. Arrive early and plan to wait 1-2 hrs to be seated.

We went there one nigh around 8 pm and was told to wait for 45 minutes or so. We came back next day for brunch. I think the appetizer and stir fried dishes are better than xiao long bao and dumplings which Din Tai Fung is famous for. I had Din Tai Fung in different countries and still not impressed with their baos because I had something better. A little bit pricey for what you can get.

The opening time is clearly 10:30, but customers are made to stand in line at the door until 11:00 before being allowed in. It's really disgusting. Why don't you just mark it as opening at 11:00!
