The heavenly smell of wood-smoked BBQ, smoky delicious meats, casual, rustic atmosphere, combined with modest prices makes this a hidden gem in Costa Mesa. Barbeque sauces could be slightly more robust and varied in flavor but are quite good--and you won't need much as the meat is already very flavorful. Some meat was a little dry, but again, still delicious. Very kind service.
This location is closed. You can order their menu from Hole Smokes across the way now. Food was still the same. A little more expensive. I didn't see a salsa bar. Smelled like BBQ so it wasn't the same experience.
These are my favorite crispy tacos. They also have fantastic baja fish and street carne asada tacos. They have a wonderful horchata coffee drink too. Make sure and get some of the fried yellow peppers to go with your tacos. Anyone hating on this place is picky pants. They rock here!
