Il Girasole is a special Italian restaurant located in a plaza in the South Coast Furniture District, about a mile from South Coast Plaza. It offers an excellent dining experience with an amazing and incredible food menu. The ambiance is beautiful, fun, and romantic with dimmed lights. The service is incredibly attentive, generous, friendly, professional, and top-notch, with servers who elevate the experience.
The cuisine is unparalleled, delicious, and absolutely amazing. Standout dishes include the Oso Bucco Lasagna, the fettuccine pomodoro, the special shrimp carpaccio, the radiatori pasta, the filet cacio e pepe, the duck pepperdelle, and the grilled octopus. Desserts like the Mascarpone cream with berries and the Korea pear with ice cream are also very tasty. The restaurant offers a fantastic and great selection of Italian wines and a wine pairing experience. It can accommodate parties and move reservations from outside to inside. While generally excellent, some notes mention occasional long gaps between courses and a tart raspberry sauce. Overall, it is a strongly recommended place where guests will definitely be back.
