Food on the pricier side, but sushi, karaage both tasted great.

Cozy place, great food, small businessCame here with some of my friends for a late night dinner, the place was a little busy from a large group, but they got us seated in 15 minutes! The staff was very kind and all of them said hello when we walked in, they also consistently refilled our waters which was perfect. Food was great, all the rolls were delicious and the portions were perfect for the money. We got 5 rolls for the 4 of us and a miso soup each and were perfectly satisfied by the nights end. Highly recommend to stop by and support them, super authentic!

Quaint, elegant, relaxing, and posh. I feel so calm when I am here. The workers are so kind and welcoming. My boyfriend and I have tried other sushi places in town, but they don't compare! This place is the best. Quality fish and rice. Prices are great too. You get what you pay for.

Staff was very helpful. Atmosphere buzzy. All the small plates we ordered were good. My advice is skip the sushi. Very sub-par. . I am not convinced sushi chef had formal training.

Kakurega offers a solid dining experience that will satisfy your cravings for fresh and tasty sushi. During my recent visit, I found the service to be friendly and accommodating while the ambiance is intimate and cozy. The seafood used in the omakase was of good quality and impeccably fresh, ensuring a delightful and satisfying taste. While enjoyable, I didn't encounter any standout dishes that left a lasting impression.

A small, intimate restaurant that was a little difficult to get to. Had to drive around the block to get into the parking lot. Sushi was very good!! We got a mix of nigiri- smoked salmon, ahi, snapper, tuna and toro and washed it down with a couple sake flights. My favorite was definitely the toro and salmon. Service was fast and friendly.

Place was very pleasant. Came for the oysters and I was very pleased. Very fresh and detailed crafter to perfection.I also did the raw scallops and golden eye snapper sushi. Which were also amazing! Will definitely be back to this Restaurant, i highly recommended and I will also say that the staff was very polite and attentive.Thank you Kakurega for a great dinning experience.

Regretfully reviewing because this is a well kept secret. Best sushi in OC.
