La Cave steak house and bar

The food was excellent and the service outstanding. An old fashioned restaurant with warm and relaxing ambience that we really appreciate.

My husband and I along with our daughter celebrated new Years Eve with a dinner at La Cave. We've been to this restaurant several times throughout the years and the food is consistently good until our last two visits. My husband ordered the rib eye steak and it was cooked perfectly but it was so tough it wasn't edible. I had ordered the filet mignon at our last visit and it was a very thin over cooked piece. Because of my previous experience, I decided to order the swordfish and it had no taste at all. La Cave is a pricey restaurant and I feel that the quality of the food should be better for the price. Im not sure La Cave will be our go too steakhouse in the future.

The venue is super quaint, a throwback to steakhouses of old. It felt a little cramped at our table. There was live music, very tasteful but did hamper dinner conversation a bit. Service was good, the steaks and food were amazing.

Service is premium here. Our server Pat was wonderful, drinks were quality and the rib eye and ny were fantastic, recommend the twice baked potato. I have a list of this type of steak houses and La Cava is in my top three. We always eat here when dining in the beach areas.

Always a great experience. Great food and atmosphere. An OC icon. Always fun to bring friends to experience for the first time.

This is always a fabulous place to have an excellent meal whether for a casual dinner or special occasion! There aren't too many restaurants that offer with your beautiful steaks a big salad and choice of two types of potato's and toasted cheese bread!!! Highly recommend!!!

I have been going to La Cave for 5 decades. I love it. But, last night was a rough one, they were completely off. I reserved a table for four adults at 5pm, for my dad's 87th birthday. First, we were crammed into a table, that was suitable for 3 grown adults. Then, began a rapid rush to get us through, drinks, dinner and out so they could jam in another customer. The nervous hostess was the worst, parading back and forth franticly looking to move diners. It was such an unsettling atmosphere - in a place where I have experienced amazing dinners throughout my childhood and adulthood. To top it all off, the food was crummy - my med-rare stake was overcooked, twice baked potatoes were dry. I really worry about La Cave - and that it was only a bad $500 night my party.

Too dark, not comfortable , and food wasn't anything to write home about . There's no prices on the menu and I didn't pay the bill so I have no idea how expensive it was .

As usual, an absolute fabulous meal. Everything tasted perfect and always consistent every time we go. The staff is always very welcoming and takes incredible. Good care of us. Such a special place to have a meal. 

the tables are very very close to eachother. no privacey there and the double backed potatoes was horrible. it was dry and hard with no taste
