I love the pastries here!

In town for an early meeting, only thing open and wow what a pleasant surprise. Coffee was great, pate sandwich better than I can usually find. Pastries looked amazing.

The cakes and tarts are great, but unfortunately they don't have an oven and don't heat up their croissants! Which is a bummer because cold and stale aren't the best. But other pastries like mille feuille and lemon tart were incredible. Best mille feuille I've had in OC! There's no place to sit inside the cafe, but you can take your food and pastries to the general complex with portola etc, and there's lots of open seating spaces there

Unbeatable cakes and pastries.

Counter service

There is ample seating outside and some seats inside as well.

This bakery is just average, nothing special. I was there to try the almond croissant, I asked them to heat it up for me so I can have it there, they said they do not have an oven. Interesting, what kind of bakery does not have an oven? Anyhow, I had to take it home to finally taste it. It was just average, nothing special, I will not be back, there are better places out there, heck, they may even have an oven.

Zero CUSTOMER SERVICE! So I don't know who the woman behind the counter is, if your food is bad you should take it back! I took a small bite of my sandwich and the veggies in it were terrible and old, like leftover old asked for another one, NO NO, asked for a Salad, NO NO, WE ARE A BUSINESS HERE !!! Omg do not trust this place the Costa Mesa one is much much better!

I got the chicken pesto sandwich and it barely had any chicken. The pesto sauce was good but one side had no cheese and hardly any chicken!
One of the employees was very helpful by showing where to get water while one was not helpful in answering my questions about food.

We ordered a pastry.

When we asked them to cut it in half for the elderly couple I was with they refused.

Our only option they suggested was we cut it with a plastic knife, which would’ve destroyed it.

When I insisted they please cut it with a proper metal knife they refused us service.

When we are in Paris, they are polite about this and have no issue.

There is a reason why all of our French friends avoid this place.

They will continue to do very well selling inauthentic pastries to Americans, who don’t know better in Orange County, California

The owner will reply with some cynical dismissive comment.
Guaranteed.

The lesser comfortable outlet due to its location in a distressed shopping mall. Food is similar to other locations, so this is a good solution for take out.

A little piece of France in Costa Mesa. This is a small stop but still delicious for an authentic French coffee break. For full Moulin experience go to main location.

Food was meh. Tuna in Niçoise salad wasn’t fresh so it made me sick after eating. Definitely overrated place food wise but the cake & bakery are decent
