A restaurant without direction. Expensive ($65-> ) no name wine bottles. Entrees are ok, almost good, at a normal price for the region. For a place with some kind of ambition, it's strange to not have an espresso machine. Besides, bread and butter with the food for $10 and regular coffee for $12...well you'll be the judge... but this place has a strange pricing strategy and an unclear direction and I wouldn't go back for another dinner.

Our dinner at Verde in Costa Mesa was exceptional from start to finish. We began with the charcuterie board, which was beautifully presented and offered a thoughtful selection of cured meats, cheeses, and accompaniments - balanced, flavorful, and perfectly portioned to share.
For our entrée, we split the half chicken, which was tender, juicy, and seasoned with precision. It’s clear the kitchen takes real pride in both flavor and presentation.
We ended the meal with cocktails, and they were outstanding. Each was crafted with care and creativity, but the standout was the Cigarettes & Coffee. It’s rich, smoky, and perfectly balanced, a must-try for cocktail lovers.
The atmosphere at Verde is refined yet comfortable, with attentive service and a warm, welcoming energy. From start to finish, it felt like a complete experience. Verde is a fantastic addition to Costa Mesa’s dining scene and one I’ll absolutely be returning to.

Had a classic gimlet cocktail for our drinks, and the half-chicken and hanger steak for entrees. Topped it off with a panna cotta dessert. Everything was delicious!

Had an amazing meal here and loved every single dish we tried. The sourdough focaccia with butter was a perfect start, followed by the charred cabbage, roasted pickled carrots, and blistered shishitos. We also shared the summer vegetable plate and the vegetarian protein bowl, both of which were delicious. The house-made carrot-infused vodka cocktail I started with was wonderful and unique. It's a great spot for vegetarians and pescatarians, but they have plenty of meat options too. Oh, and the fries I tried from a friend's plate were very tasty. Looking forward to going back.
