From the moment we walked in, the team at Campsite made us feel like family. We were there to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday, and from the host to the bartender, everyone went out of their way to make it special.
In a time when the service industry often forgets the human side of hospitality, Campsite stands out. It felt like stepping into a warm, welcoming summer camp, especially thanks to Jose and Josh. Jose’s joy is contagious; his kindness and genuine care for each guest shine from across the room.
The vibe, the people, and that unforgettable s’mores ice cream made the night feel magical. We didn’t just have a great meal we made memories. Can’t wait to go back and reconnect with the incredible team.
Came for dinner with my husband to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and we are so happy we did! Our first time visiting Campsite and we were blown away by everything here. The staff were so friendly and hospitable. Our food was delicious; I really liked the pub burger and my husband said his fish tacos were great. We both LOVED the Mexican lager! We ended the night chatting up the bartenders while we enjoyed beer tastings. What a fun time! We will definitely return soon to enjoy happy hour on the patio.
Meant to post this review sooner but I needed a minute to compose my thoughts. I came to Campfire with a few friends about 2 maybe 3 weeks ago. The place was nice and clean, the food was good, but the service was subpar. Someone named pert or phert something along those lines was helping us and they were extremely rude and inattentive. I assume we aren’t the only ones who felt that way because the way she speaks to other employees dumbfounded me too. You should speak to people the way you would like to be spoken to, if you want to BARK at people, go ahead and take your resume to Dick’s Last Resort although im not even sure THEY would take you in.
First time here and dope. Everyone was very friendly and the staff were super helpful thanks for a great Saturday we will be back. Long Beach gang gang brew heads
It was a little loud for conversation, the food was great, we had a charcuterie board but service was slow. They were having an event, so that could be reason for slow service. I would try them again.
The food is surprisingly excellent. There is a large selection of beer to suit individual beer tastes. The one I picked I could drink all day long. The staff was friendly and helpful. It literally had no downsides. If I lived closer this would definitely be my local.
I recently went for the second time, for Happy Hour. When I looked at the reviews, I was surprised the reviews were not higher in rating. I have gone twice and the atmosphere alone is worth it. They were somehow able to create a little piece of the woods, in an urban, industrial part of Covina. The food is decent, compared to other breweries/restaurants I have been to. I particularly enjoyed a passion fruit seltzer they have, and the service was good. I would recommend it if you enjoy a woodsy, cabin-like aesthetic.
I've been to many breweries, and it was so strange to find that I had to reserve a seat, even for the outdoor seating area. Was not a fan of that, especially since there were so many, visible open seating areas. The staff constantly seemed like they were confused on who ordered what and what table does it belong to. We were approached multiple times with confused orders. I can tell lots of money went into this place, especially since it seems like they were charging pretty hefty prices for their items - $20 for a fried chicken sandwich. The meat was raw in the middle which I lost my appetite but at least they refunded me and remade my order.
My experience would've been better if the outdoor seating was all open seating and the indoor was for folks that were looking to have food and drinks.
The food was 'just ok' for the price. Beer was 'just ok' for the price.
In theory, this concept is cool and you can tell the owners invested a lot of money to get it off the ground. There are some fundamental issues that will make this business fail. And the owners are too arrogant to make any changes that will help the business in the long run. If they didn’t have such ample support from the investors in the family, they wouldn’t have made it past a year. First and foremost. The employees working here are amazing for the most part. Hard working, honest people that truly want to make this place special. This commitment doesn’t come from leadership tho. Leadership takes every opportunity to leave events early, make everything about themselves, and create an atmosphere of distrust and confusion. Kate runs the show and which is evident in all of the social media videos where her and Christian film together. Hence the awkward controlled tone he gives off when on camera together. They do not take feedback. The company policy is not the read reviews, and to not listen to feedback from customers on site. In fact, when they changed their 18% gratuity charge, they made it a point that they legally had to change policies, and disregarded the feedback or complaints from customers. The beer is just okay. Very pricey, and a lot of selections, but can’t hold a stick to Hamilton, Baldy, Old Stump, or even arrow lodge. The food is another big issue. They refuse to introduce items that would be popular because “you can’t make that camping” which is a strange excuse. For example, they don’t have wings on the menu because you can’t fry wings when camping. But they have tons of other options that are challenging to cook while camping and it’s not an issue. Most items are on the menu because they “are the owners favorite” like the curry pot pie. But that is a just an example of ownership coming before customers. I don’t think they care to make Camspite inclusive to the black community. At least it’s not a priority. There wasn’t a single black employee working there during their first anniversary and there definitely was not any programing geared towards building those bridges to the community. Which was surprising to me since DEI was presented as a cornerstone of their philosophy. I’ve seen employees try to share their concerns only to be disregarded. I’ve seen ownership call guests crazy because they shared they felt like they were being taken advantage of price wise. The list goes on and on where great ideas are shoved to the side because “Kate and Christian know best”. From showing live sports, to expanding menu options, to general rules around the taprooms, ingredients purchased, and more. They seem to have full confidence in the direction they’re going. Unfortunately I believe they don’t know what direction that is. On top of that, they are just plain disrespectful to current and past employees. In the managers office they had post it notes with “RIP JOE”, “RIP JONATHAN” making fun of employees they laid off or fired publicly on display for other coworkers to see. I wish nothing but the best for the other employees, but envision nothing but failure for Kate and Christian. They’re lucky his dad helped finance the place or else they wouldn’t have seen year 2 or 3 or beyond. It’s crazy to be born on 3rd base, but still be thrown out at the plate.
Had a few beer flights to try their different beers and they were all great. They really captured the campsite atmosphere. We went during lunch but I imagine it is really cozy in the evening.

Very cool place. Great beer selection. Definitely worth a try.
Great food and great service. Campsite makes you feel like you're in the mountains
Love the vibe, love the QR codes. People hating on this place are old.
Friendly customer service.
Food was tasty and filling.
I wanted to like this place but after today I won’t be coming back. I had came here with my dad and my brother on a previous time and we had no problems we liked the establishment that we decided to come back today. As soon as we got here the bartender with the blonde hair and beard wearing glasses asked me and my brother for our id and I gave him my passport since I recently lost my CA ID. Then he says he can’t take my brother’s ID which is a US employment ID it states it shows US residence and clearly shows the age. The bartender called it an “ID from another country” and he clearly couldn’t tell that it was an ID from US. Just told me it’s policy that he couldn’t take it. I’ll gladly take my money somewhere else where I won’t be profiled because they were giving me a hard time and couldn’t explain to me why just “oh it’s policy.”
