Went for my birthday and service was bad they charged us alcoholic drinks āvirginā when we asked for agua Fresca, then when we paid they took the receipt and didnāt give us all our money back. When asked she said it was more but we all looked at the receipt that is not right ā¦.

Met up with a family member here during happy hour, and it was a great experience. The menu had a fantastic selection of happy hour specials and drinks. We started with cucumber margaritas and birria tacosāboth were excellent! The server was very attentive, even with multiple margarita orders. Overall, a great experience, and the place had a nice vibe for a Tuesday night.

Horrible service. Our party of 6 got seated by the hostess, and waited a long time for the waitress (Xiomara) to come by our table to take our drinks order, despite the fact that the restaurant was super slow and not busy whatsoever.
We ordered our drinks and food at once since we were waiting for so long for someone to come by. The food did come out pretty fast, I assume because the place was empty.. so that was good. The food itself was okay - not bad but not the best.
The bus boys picking up our empty plates came by every couple of minutes which was nice - however Xiomara, the waitress, dropped by only once after our food came to check if our food was good and never came back to check in. We needed to flag her down for refills and also had to ask one bus boys and the hostess to help us pay our bill once we were ready to go because Xiomara was no where to be found.
We paid our bill and left a generous tip in cash (though Xiomara didnāt deserve any), only to realize that they had added an 18% tip to our check already without being informed. The auto tip is usually for parties of 8 people or more and we had only 4 adults and 2 kids.
We have had positive experiences at other locations but never going back to this Kalaveras location. Save your money and time and go somewhere else to eat.

Up front THIS PLACE IS NOISY the thumping base music is loud enough to keep anyone from having a normal conversation Your tone of voice will be competing with the LOUD music. I had a 2 brown or black mole enchiladas with rice and beans. I washed it down with a MEXICAN COKE and a tasty but NOT very sweet Cantaloupe Agua Fresca LOVED IT! The enchiladas. This frijolero enjoyed the beans ALMOST TASTED HOME MADE good thing is they lightened up on the salt in the frijoles some OTHER restaurants MAKE THE MISTAKE ADDING TO MUCH SALT. The rice was ok. I WOULD COME BACK FOR A BEAN AND CHEESE BURRITO some time in the near future.

The food is amazing, and the portions and sides are great. The atmosphere is quite loud with tons of tvs playing music videos (the same one across the screens) but the vibe fits the restaurant and in spite of the music volume I had no issues hearing everyone at my table. My friend ordered a specific beer that ran out when they were pouring it so they had him order something else but still gave him what was left of his first choice (about half a glass), without charging him for it which I thought was a nice gesture. I absolutely plan on coming back and trying the rest of the menu!

Too loud. Decor was just ok. Food was ok/good. Drinks good. Won't be going back. We're in our 40's and it was just too loud. We didn't enjoy it. We couldn't hear each other talk. Not worth it to me. Plenty of better Mexican restaurants with better decor and not loud at all. If you like very loud music when you're dining then you'll like this place.
