Ordered soft shell crab and it was good. Wasn't hot nor warm by the time I made it 12 minutes away home. Also ordered baked salmon roll, it was good flavor was mild compared to what I'm use too. I did like that it was not super oily like some I've had. I would come back

Papa Sushi & Roll blipped on my Yelp search after trying to find a sushi place in the general West/Covina area that wasn't a chain/AYCE since we wanted sushi, but not a huge amount of it. It's located in a low key plaza and open decently late. The sign in front, just says "Sushi & Roll" though, just an FYI. It wasn't too crowded of a late night dinner with only 2 other tables and some pick up orders. The waitress who was working was very attentive and helpful. There's sushi bar seating and some tables around. Very casual dining experience and affordable sushi and other dishes (ramen, udon, teriyaki, etc.). We got the: 1) Spicy Tuna Roll (8 pieces):-Fresh tuna, none of that bloody pink/red stuff. -Not too spicy, roll sizes were pretty big and there was a bit of cucumber inside too. -Solid spicy tuna roll.2) Soft Shell Crab: -Decently sized soft shell crab as well. Nice and crispy with good flavor. -Didn't skimp out on the tempura crunchy roll bits or the sauce. 3) Crunchy Albacore Roll (8 pieces): -Also a very sizeable dish. Reminds me of what you can order at an AYCE sushi place to be honest. -Spicy imitation crab meat on the inside with tempura shrimp, albacore on top, with onions and crispy, fried garlic on top. -There was also a spicy, sour vinaigrette for this roll and added a nice kick and pick me up for the taste buds. 4) Salmon sashimi (5 pieces): -These are pretty big slices. Nice and fatty, can't go wrong with some good salmon. All specialty rolls come with a side of miso soup. It was a bit blander and more watered down than what I'm used to, but it had some bits of seaweed in it. Our water came in to go fast food cups, which is great when you think about it since it has been quite hot this summer. I want to see what their hot food dishes are like and would like to try a chirashi or sashimi special from here. Hopefully they expand their menu to include more nigiri and sashimi types!

The service is very good the waitresses are very good at selecting a good sushi dish. I've ordered a put together sushi with ingredients (pink panther roll) I found at another sushi restaurant also ordered the 3 item combination twice, l've got to say the chicken and salmon teriyaki are good, I thought the salmon was just a bit better, maybe if they added green onions and sesame to the chicken it would have kicked it out of the park! Mixed tempura is good as well! Miso soup to warm the soul and the green salad is tempting but needs more dressing, what's a salad without the right amount of dressing?....Now for the sushi, the "Itamae" or sushi master makes the sushi excellent, whether the california roll or their version of a pink panther roll, very tasty! I throughly recommend trying this place in a strip mall across from Home Depot in Covina with an Azusa Avenue address! Give it a try, taste it you won't regret it!!!

I love this place! Almost better than Crazy Rock'n before they completely upgraded their menu and dish presentations. I would prefer this place over them if I'm not trying to spend so much on sushi.

Ok, How can I say it's just ok. The miso soup was warm almost cold. Sushi was good Lunch box was ok The service was horrible I will never come here again!!!!!!

While I enjoy the baked salmon roll, I ordered food to go, and it was about. 45+ min wait. Waitress checked in once and let us know that it would take another 5 min to which it actually took an additional 20 min. Disappointing service.

It was actually VERY good, my mom who doesn't like sushi actually loved it! She's never wanted to eat sushi in 66+ plus years but she tried this place and she really liked it! Also, ramen was veryyy good, I never get ramen anywhere around my area because the taste is not to my standards but this nailed it Recommend it
