They close at 7 according to their website, but turned us and another couple away at 6, saying they were closed. Then as we were leaving, some locals walked in and were seated. Very strange.
Somehow this restaurant is 4.5 which it shouldn’t be. the food is way too overpriced and it doesn’t compensate with its taste. the jambalaya is just a broth with cooked rice underneath and the seafood boil being 60 dollars is criminal. the seafood boil didn’t even have any seasoning at all. the best thing they had were fries.

Way too expensive for what it was. Good food, small portion sizes.

My husband and I came upon this gem by accident. It was all any one who knows what good southern food is all about this was it. Exceptional jambalaya. To many things to try with our one night stay in Crescent City. Can't wait to return on another pass by.

I have drove by this place multiple times, this is the first time we’ve come in and we were blown away! The food is amazing, the service is very friendly, and it was a wonderful time and I can’t wait for us to come back. The kids loved the options, even the corn dog was amazing :)

We were just stopping by after DJing on the beach for a drink but once we smelled the kitchen we had to order a little something! The boudin balls were to die for! We wanted the jambalaya but it was a huge portion and we were just looking for a snack but looking forward to returning for a full meal! The staff was very friendly as well! & the back patio has an amazing view!

Always a pleasant experience. The jambalaya is truly excellent. Tried the cornbread today; perfect.
This was a last minute find from positive reviews and they were not wrong! We had the seafood platter, jambalaya, and wings. Seafood platter was fresh and delicious, the jambalaya was the tastiest and well proportioned I’ve had, along with the cornbread. Wings were great too! Rose was amazing as our server!! Plus we ended our lunch with ice cream cones! A 5 star lunch with cool views of the harbor!

I had to give food a 4 because my wife got the jambalaya and it was good, but I wasn't feeling seafood so I got the wings.
Buffalo wild wings are much better.
My friend got the crawdads and he said they were good.
The only downside was that they had a band playing live music, but in a restaurant that incredibly small, it was way too loud.
Staff were all very polite, cost was reasonable. If you like IPAs, they have a decent selection

We really enjoyed our visit to Schmidt's House of Jambalya. We started off with their special appetizer of Alligator Bites which were very tasty. We then split the Jambalaya...it did not disappoint, it was perfectly flavored. Everyone who worked there was very friendly, the food and drinks came quickly, and there are beautiful beach and sunset views. I would definitely recommend.

Good service and neat seaside atmosphere. The sweet potato waffle fries and smoked pepper dressing were excellent. The seafood boil was average.

Sunny fall day eating on the porch overlooking the coast. Greeted warmly & treated with enthusiasm. The blackened shrimp po boy was absolutely delicious; fresh bread, dressed well, right amount of spice. Almost (& this is a compliment) as good as a N’Awlins Po Boy. Impressive, most impressive 😎

Owners very sweet. Wings were the size of pigeon wings. Very small for $2.10 each. Only 2 sauce options. Wife had fish and chips which were good.
