Great place to catch a Seahawks game. But it was very loud. Would have been better with the music turned down a bit.

Go hawks!! Also the steak and fries were fire 😋🔥
We were just looking for a quick bite and drink before Jeopardy. So, based on other recent reviews, you may think this place is fun, hip, cool, and welcoming. Well, welcoming it was not 11/7 Friday afternoon around 1pm. Although the atmosphere was pleasant with perfect dim lighting, there was a nice vibe but the service was slow, no greeting upon walking into this humble establishment and there was a feeling of unwelcomeness. This is a hit or miss for me. Because other reviews didn't mention this. I will say this... if you're looking for fifty-fifty chance of feeling unwelcomed and neglected when its not busy then go here. We left after waiting 25 minutes to be acknowledged.

Classic dive bar near the Sony Pictures lot in Culver City. Long standing bar with history. There are stories of old Hollywood players coming in and wreaking some havoc. Supposedly the munchkins were known to raise hell in here after wrap. (Yes it’s been around that long) The food is a step above your typical bar food. The drinks and service are solid. Apparently it’s a superb karaoke bar.

BORN TO BE WILD ! Hard to believe it had been 15 years since we hit this karaoke joint. My wife and I were enjoying a weekend getaway in Santa Monica on June 17-19 to celebrate our wedding anniversary. After a fabulous dinner at Dono ( Spanish / Tapas in Santa Monica on Saturday evening I convinced my wife we should head here so I could sing a couple of songs. Everybody who knows me knows I LOVE KAROKE ! It was barely a 20 minute drive to Culver City though we did have some trouble finding a street parking spot near the place. A friendly doorman named Tate greeted us in a welcoming fashion when we turned up at the front door a bit after 8pm. NO PROB ! When we entered it was quite dark and the place was pretty empty. Not wanting to wait forever to get up to sing I headed straight to the karaoke master....a dude named Shane who told me he was running the show when we were here 15 years ago. WOW ! So it was piss easy to get my name down for a song...get the app and put my name down for BORN TO BE WILD. I grabbed an ice cold hazy IPA from John the barman and sat at a counter top table with my wife towards the back. I waited an hour and then got up to sing my song. ALL GOOD ! We noticed a few of the locals sometimes sang 2 songs in a row despite the karaoke dude Shane saying only one song at a time for everyone. That was more than disappointing and it got worse as the night wore on. I grabbed another ice cold hazy IPA from John the barman...lovely friendly guy ! I waited an hour and 20 minutes for my next song... we watched the favoritism of the local yokels song after song. In the end we gave up and went back to our hotel in Santa Monica. IT COULD BE BETTER !

GOOD FUN ! A few years back we were hanging out for the day with my wife's sister and her hubby at Venice Beach, CA. We caught some live music and it was a bit of fun. All the gang know how much I love karaoke so my brother-in-law suggested we hit the Backstage Bar & Grill later in the evening after dinner. WOW...I've never been to Culver City but it seemed like it was out in the middle of nowhere. BUT THERE IT WAS ! We probably didn't get here till abut 7.30pm....karaoke never usually starts anywhere before about 9pm. YOU GOTTA DRINK FIRST ! So yeah I knocked back a few Jack Daniels & cokes and by the time my turn came I was probably half tanked. The place was absolutely packed to the max when I did my song...HAPPY TOGETHER - The Turtles. Hey who cares if you can sing great...as long as you have fun !

Best happy hour!
I had such a great time Singing one of my favorite songs in front of a great audience. Anyone can sing just go to the DJ and sign up for any song you wish. They play the song with the written words and you sing it. You don't have to be able to sing (ME), but just be yourself and send out good vibes. The Food and Drinks are very good and the prices are terrific. They are right across the street from Sony studios. Be careful of parking - Culver Blvd is the Best, side streets you may be ticketed. I think they are open only Thurs, Fri and Saturday. Come Join the Fun! Hope to see you there. If you are going to sing pick the song before you arrive and go directly to the DJ to sign up. Try to pick a song everyone knows. My favorite part was the wonderful audience that was positive and supportive. I tried to connect with the audience thru visual means and bring them into my song.
My quest for the perfect Bloody Mary has ended. Claire hooked it up! No crazy apps that you have to remove to get to the sauce and I asked for a little spicy and that's exactly what I got. Simply incredible & delicious!
