Café Laurent has friendly staff, but there is nothing particularly French about this place except for the occasional French words on the menu. The "fancy brunch” was more reminiscent of Denny's-sized portions, and the so-called French toast looked unappetizing. The baguette, a staple at any French café, felt plastic-like and industrial.

Used to frequent this place when it was next to Veterans Park on Overland where they had an outdoor patio. Now it's on Venice in Mar Vista where previously Atmosphere Cafe was located. Outdoor-ish type dining area, walls & ceiling completely covered and draped w fabric. Nice ambiance, good low level bossa nova down tempo cover music filled the air. Refreshing ceiling fans blowing a cooling breeze. Double cappuccino was on point. But when ordering a reg coffee afterwards, the cup had crusty build up on the rim, yuck.? Good variety of breakfasts. Decent pricing not counting the "specials" menu. An actual $15 egg, potato and 'meat' side order breakfast option available.?!? Wow, awesome.?? Good variety of crepes, and tasty too. Overall a good choice on a very un-busy Sunday morning when most locals are frantically trying to find parking for the farmers mkt down the street, score.!

Wonderful corner restaurant; great food, friendly servers, and the food was excellent. We had a breakfast party of six and everyone enjoyed their choices. This place will always be on my list when I travel to LA!!!!!
