I always go to the studio city location which I love and is so dependable — this location on the other hand is atrocious. Coffee was so bitter I tossed it. Nightmare

Man….so the coffee is good but not THAT good that it’s worth waiting for 20 minutes when there’s only 5 people in line. Staff acts like they’re doing you a favor. Avoid this place if you’re conscious of time whatsoever.

Honestly a little too snobby for my taste although the servers are very nice! I know the coffee is high quality but you cannot even get an iced drink here without it being an inconvenience. I would not say this is the every-person’s coffee shop. (For the record I am not a Statbuck’s person, I only support small chain or local coffee shops!)

If you have nowhere to be, this is the place to order. Your coffee always takes at least 30 to 45 minutes to even get in and order before you have to wait another 15 to 20 before you get your drink. Everybody's focused on too many different things. It needs to be one committed person at the register Always take orders. I missed the old way where you would just go up to the barista and order your drink and then pay separately at the register while your drink was being made. It made things go a lot faster. But like I said if you have all day to wait for coffee, this is the Philz location for you.

The best customer service I’ve ever had in a coffee shop! I was in Culver City for a musical event over the weekend and my wife and I popped into Philz. They are conveniently located in the heart of Culver City at the base of the steps. We had never been there before and my wife wanted a coffee and I wanted a tea. The menu was a little complicated but the person behind the counter went out of her way to try and help us navigate the difference between them and Starbucks. My wife got so flustered that she just gave up and all we wound up getting was a tea. This was not the fault of the person behind the counter. My wife just didn’t want to deal with it and assumed we would find a Starbucks nearby. My wife did not express this out loud, but the person behind the counter clearly saw my wife’s frustration. While waiting for the tea I grabbed a glass of water and informed the person who took our order that the water was out. It was at that point she asked me if my wife liked oat or regular milk. I was a little confused as my wife did not end up ordering any coffee. When I asked her why she was asking me this she told me that she made her a coffee anyway so that she could see if she liked it. I was so impressed with this I cannot begin to tell you. For the cost of a simple cup of coffee they gained enormous respect from me and a loyal customer the next time I'm nearby. She did not have to do this. It was above and beyond what customer service should be. If more businesses had this kind of attitude there would be a lot less businesses that go out of business. I commend the staff at this location and wish them the best of luck. Oh, by the way, my wife loved the coffee.

Love their seasonal drinks, especially the new spring drinks: Caramel Cardamon Karma and Nutty Caramel Nirvana.
The Caramel Cardamon Karma iced was amazing, as well as the coffee cake muffin. Also, this location was so dog friendly and liked the bench where I had to wait for my drink.
Everyone had a friendly smile and seemed happy to be there. Finally, the price was also great. Got the drink, which was under $6, and the muffin was somewhere around $4. Nice to get a specialty drink and a baked treat for $10.
Instead of Starbucks, make it a point to go to a Philz at least once a week!
