Very authentic Japanese sushi. Small family run restaurant with good service. Will definitely comeback again if we’re in town.

Best sushi restaurant in LA - we’ve been to many and this is our overall favorite. Quaint atmosphere, excellent nigiri. When we have a special occasion or just want actual good sushi, this is where we go, every time. Usually order a mix of our typical favorites plus a couple new things each time. They never disappoint with the new stuff. Also recently launched lunch sandwiches and they are just plain excellent.
Love this place. Can’t recommend enough. Must try for sushi in LA, hands down.

Brown rice sushi restaurant
I think this is the only restaurant that serves brown rice sushi.
It is also one of the few Japanese restaurants in Kalva City.
To be honest, the restaurant isn't that big, so it might be better to take out rather than eat in.
There are 6 counter seats and 1 outside seat.
If you're with two people, I think it's better to just eat inside.
After all, it's sushi, so freshness is important.
Also, the homemade desserts are reasonably priced and delicious.
I think you can definitely ask.
I think the husband and wife are doing it together, but the quiet general is
He is a wonderful person whose aura of being a good person is fully open when he opens his mouth.
The wife explained various things and was considerate, creating a comfortable atmosphere.
I think the wife makes the dessert.
There is a paid street parking lot in front of the hotel.
So, parking there is the closest and cheapest option.
This is a city where food safety is highly conscious, so if you're looking for Japanese food for someone who doesn't like meat dishes, this is probably the first restaurant you'll come to.

Amazingly clean and delicious sushi & dessert. The brown rice was A++. Felt like I was in Tokyo with the intimate chef/counter setup. Can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend

Super small restaurant and absolutely delicious sushi. The brown rice adds a nice texture to the fish and the sushi comes out less sweet and vinegary feeling than sushi rice. The ngiri options are amazing and go the next level on flavor. When adding garlic and green onions to the fish it's got these insanely crunchy bits added that give intense flavors with the fish. The truffle flavoring is more than just oil as small pieces are laid on the fish to give that extremely rich taste. Absolutely recommend

The food at Shikibu is top notch! From the fresh sushi and sashimi to the appetizers, green tea and desserts, everything is very fresh and artfully presented. Every dish is very nostalgic for the time I've spent in Japan. The atmosphere is very cozy and personal and offers direct interaction with Chef Thomas as he creates every dish.
