It has a cool vintage vibe and a really cozy feel right in the heart of Culver City. The rooms are comfortable, the bar is fun, and everything you need is just a short walk away.

Special place with phenomenal decor. A must see in Culver City

The air-conditioning unit was located inside the room and was quite noisy. The room felt dated and had an unpleasant odor; keeping the windows slightly open helped make it more tolerable. Parking was available about two blocks away.

This review is for the afternoon tea at the restaurant downstairs.

I love an afternoon tea and have been to many across the city and New York. we came for my birthday and left extremely disappointed by the quality, especially for the price (over $200 for 2 with tip). That burning feeling you get when you were charged a luxury price for a poor experience? Yeah, if you’d like to avoid that don’t get tea here!

The main issues: the scones were flat, like they had been melted before baking to a crisp. They were served with whipped cream, not clotted cream. The sweets were clearly thawed from frozen (purchased from a commissary like Sysco I imagine) and tasted like sawdust. The tea sandwiches were dry and congealed like they’d been sitting out for hours. And they used tea bags instead of the loose leaf tea you’d expect from a nice hotel.

No blame to the wait staff, who were great. This was entirely about the quality of the food and tea which frankly shocked us for the price they charge.

$140 for a slice of beef Wellington and stale cookies. Gordon Ramsey gives you the whole wellington for less money. Don’t waste your time here.

Nice but overpriced. It was much better before Covid when it was a French restaurant

Great stay overshadowed by poor service and missing property

I really wanted to love this hotel — and for the most part, I did. The rooms were beautiful, the property well-kept, and the atmosphere relaxing. I had multiple meals on site and initially thought I’d found my new favorite getaway spot.

But two things completely ruined the experience for me.

First, the bar experience was embarrassingly stingy. My friend ordered a St. Germain spritzer and, when she politely mentioned she couldn’t taste the liqueur, the server said adding a splash more would require charging her for a full extra shot. We’re not talking about doubling the drink — just enough to balance the flavor. At a property that markets itself as upscale, that kind of nickel-and-diming over an ounce of elderflower is tacky and tone-deaf.

Second, and far worse: my charger went missing after checkout. I called within a few hours of leaving — before the next guest had even checked in — and explained exactly where I’d left it plugged in. The front desk claimed it wasn’t there. How is that possible? I know precisely where I left it. The only people who had access were housekeeping. If an item disappears in that short window, that’s not a coincidence — that’s a theft problem.

It’s disappointing when a property that gets the big things right completely fails on integrity and basic hospitality. Until management addresses staff accountability and customer care, I can’t recommend this hotel — no matter how charming it looks on the surface.

Went for dinner. Beautiful setting, warm lights and table/chairs… lots of glass so everything glittered! Food was excellent. Parking was very convenient. Service was professional, attentive and friendly. A real
Jewel. They have live jazz Tuesday through Friday, 7-10p… going back!
