The Jolly Oyster is in the Citizen Market just a heads up because I didn’t know! Oysters are fresh and tasty. I need to come back

It is rare for me to be genuinely impressed with the level of flavor and creativity. My recommendation: get every single flavor of grilled oyster (the true stars of the place imo) and the key lime pie, which looks unassuming but is some of the most solid pie I've had in LA. Love that they promote sustainable shellfish as well. The raw oysters were sweet and flavorful but expensive. Although I don't regret ordering the deviled eggs, I probably wouldn't get them again. This unassuming little oyster bar is tucked in a busy food hall. Service is top notch.

Came here because we were craving some oysters. The service is a hit or miss but the oysters are pretty delicious here. The sake options are also pretty good. The only con is probably parking and again, the service is a hit or miss.

I contemplated about writing a review or not, but I decided that it would be the best for everyone, customers and the management, to be aware. I was meeting a friend. We order 6 oysters, uni, and two glasses of wine. Upon reaching for an oyster, I saw a squirming worm on the shell of an oyster... upon some research Im guessing it's a mud worm...? A parasite that lives in the shell of oysters...? Whatever it was, thank God we saw it before taking a bite. I give 2 stars because they refunded our food right away, but honestly we had already lost our appetite and didn't really want to touch the uni or wine.. lol I really hope the management becomes aware of this and works to improve their quality of food and cleanliness.

I think everything I've tried inside the citizen public market has been above reproach. The Jolly Oyster Bar has outstanding dishes all around. The baked oysters are my favorite, but the raw oysters also scream quality and freshness.

Can't say enough good things about this place. All of the dishes are fresh and on point. The scallop ceviche "shooter" is as good as it gets--Michelin worthy. Oysters were exceptional, last night sourced from British Columbia and elsewhere to ensure their safety. The broth-based clam chowder is smoky goodness personified. Great friendly service to boot. This is a gem of a restaurant which needs to be on your radar at all times.

I had a fantastic meal here and will be back again asap. Loved the baked oysters, got a half dozen assorted with the toast on the side. My fave was the Cacio e Pepe, and also love the Cilantro Lime and Habanero.

Every time I’m in Culver City, I have to stop by Jolly Oyster. It’s by far one of my favorite places. I don’t like normal oysters however the baked oysters here are to die for!

This small oyster bar does a lot with the space they have. The people are cool and the oysters are well shucked and good.

I got Vibrio food poisoning from oysters here. Not sure if this was a one off experience but for the cost of the oysters doesn't seem worth it.

Overpriced and small portions don't recommend at all. Avoid at all costs. Do yourself a favor and

I'd love to give five stars to this establishment. The oysters were heavenly and with a little lemon they tasted wonderful. My problem started early in the AM after my meal there. As I said earlier they went down smooth and tasty...BUT...WOW,they came up with a vengeance. I found myself with the worst case of food poisoning in 30 years. If I head back to Citizen Public Market, I might give Jolly a second chance as their steamers looked divine. Their Rhode Island Clam Chowder looked good too. The wait staff was beyond excellent, the setting is cool. I'll chalk it up to a bad dozen..

Best baked oysters ever! Next time I come back, I will definitely get a dozen so I can try all the flavors! Kimchi was my favorite. Little disappointed that they ran out of the clam steamers
