I ate a minestrone followed by a pizza. The pizza was good but far from the best. I decided not to finish the bare dough parts which I love on a great pizza, but not this one.The minestrone was just bleak. It lacked enough veggies to fill up the bowl. Also, the sparkling wine options need improvement.
Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegan salads and vegan pizza. All-veg minestrone soup.
food was delicious! true, authentic Euro-style cafe with fresh quality food. Came on my birthday with family and we got 2 pizzas and some pastas and everybody enjoyed their food. Came back to try the mini shells in white sauce and it was delicious. The calamari was really good too. Cannoli was meh, but maybe next time I’ll try the gelato
The brunch menu is great and well priced ($21 bottomless mimosas, yes please!) and this is probably my new go-to brunch spot. I’ve also been for dinner and the pasta was delicious and the wine was tasty! I sat outside both times and found the ambience to be great for a fun brunch or cozy dinner.Pros: Great atmosphere, outdoor dining is a plus, servers are very nice and the food is delicious. Wine was great and the mimosas at brunch were a nice mix of OJ/champagne. Prices are very reasonable!Cons: Service is slow. I’m not sure if this is a staffing problem, flow problem or something else but it takes too long to get water, drinks, appetizers or even the server to initially show up? I had to stop someone during both the brunch and the dinner to check on things (after waiting for awhile). For brunch: Bottomless mimosas wasn’t from a carafe at the table or refill at the table. The server has to take your glasses and bring back new ones. This seems like a huge waste of time for servers and a waste of glassware as well.Overall I really recommend!
They have 50% cocktails menu during April to celebrate their new lounge bar. Very cozy atmosphere and nice seating arrangements! Drinks are top notch, and service is fantastic. Pricy without the discount, but it's a bourgeoisie place so that's expected.
Parking: Parking is directly across from the location.
I used to be a frequent customer, but they mad disrespected me. Id talk with the servers and be chill with them. Right now I bought take out and while I was waiting for my ride to come. I made the horrible decision to sit down at one of their tables and start eating. Tell me why'd the boss come through and kick me out talking about "this is dine in only" when it's an empty restaurant. And I literally just bought their food. putting in an arbitrary rule when I'm not even loitering I just bought the food. Lowkey could be racially motivated. I knew Ugo back when he was the owner, and from speaking with the employees and seeing how there's high turnaround. This place went downhill. The food expensive, gotten worse too, and bad service.
A happy hour with great deals. Ugo states that this location is the only Italian restaurant on the westside of los angeles that is vpn certified for authentic neapolitan pizza. This shows especially in their dough, where the crust is like a fluffy naan. While the bottom of the pizza can become soft over time, the flavors are delicious. The fried calamari is fresh, worth getting. Skip the fried portobello mushrooms. Yummy gelato
This was my first time at Ugo Cafe and I was very impressed. The service excellent our servers were very attentive and nice. We sat outside with a group and was accompanied by a gentleman playing a his guitar. We then moved to the lounge...loved loved loved it! Our bartender excellent. I will definitely be back again and can't wait to go back! Oh and their happy hour menu bomb!
Parking: I felt safe in the parking structure it was also very clean. What I love most is I had the choice of paying with a credit card or cash.
Very disappointing service. Our drinks were never checked on unless we asked, half of my entree was forgotten about, and lastly, the patio heaters near us were turned off as soon as we got our bill (edit to add: the restaurant wasn't closing for another hour+ so that wasn't the reason)! It was 50 degrees outside so it quickly became unpleasant to stay.I guess that's one way to free up tables for a quick turn around.
Nice little authentic Italian spot. Their authentically certified Neapolitan Pizzas are available on their Happy Hour menu. Lots of variety to pick from and their pasta and pastries are all great.
The patio is a must and great heating lamps available if needed. The Italian cuisine is top with great service.

I must start with the Unbelievable Service - IRINA was our Waitress and it felt like she was there just for us. She was Absolutely Outstanding in every way and her team was also great, in fact everyone there made you feel welcomed. The Menu has great choices and the food was very good. They also have a Gelato Bar inside with wonderful choices. There was a solo guitarist adding to the environment. We will be back there soon.
Ugo Italian Restaurant food was tasty. Two of these pizzas will satisfy three people for a light lunch. The customer service was great. The outdoor seating was relaxing. Perfect location to stop in while walking and shopping in Culver City.
Really wonderful Italian cuisine. I had Lobster ravioli, and my wife had spinach ravioli, and they were both great. I'm also glad we treated ourselves to gelato for dessert. It was the best I ever had anywhere.
Nice place, great staff. The food was good but portions were a little smaller. The dessert (Trilogy cake) was awesome! They had good vegetarian options as well!
We walked in just to grab a dessert. The second we walked in, the staff was pushy and kept trying to seat us when all we wanted to do was order a Gelato to go from the counter, but we finally caved and sat down. The restaurant was relatively empty. We ordered a "Nutella hazelnut" chocolate cake and gelato. The cake tasted nothing like how it looked or was described, and it had odd textures that made it seem old and overly crumbly. We took one bite and left it. The Gelato was icy and hard, as if the refrigeration case had the temperature too low, and lacked the flavor you would expect from traditional Italian gelato. But worse, there was a long hair in the Gelato about three bites in between scoops. We told our server, the same pushy one who kept insisting we dine in, and rather than be apologetic, she was cold and rude to us. Needless to say, we were over it by this point. We put cash on the table and walked away. This place is nothing more than a tourist trap with rude staff. If the desserts are this bad, I can only imagine how uneventful the savory items are.
