I asked if I could try the chocolate gelato flavor and The manager, Gabby, literally called me a b**ch. it's wild that she's the manager, I would think this place would do better. I didn't say anything because I was shook lol this lady was sitting down at the register and was so mad she had to get up. Would never come back and I wouldn't recommend anyone come here either. Still got the lemon gelato though- also wasn't good lol. But yeah crazy experience

I was excited to try Ugo, when walking by in Santa Monica they were very welcoming and friendly when just looking over the menu on the promenade which is why I chose to give it a try in Culver City last night. It was OK. I went there on a first date. When ordering I asked if the pesto was vegetarian, he responded “you can get gluten free pasta.” This response did not make sense. The waiter never came to check to see if we liked our food as a courtesy (I have waited tables and this is standard). When ordering I don’t recall being provided a drink menu, and it appears when I ordered a simple glass of wine ? that he intentionally wrung up a glass of wine that cost more than my dinner. I could see the shock in my dates’ eyes when looking over the bill. It was truly embarrassing for me because I thought I was ordering a basic glass of wine (especially since we were rushed out and hardly time to finish the glass). I would have never ordered this had a knew, and it made this part of the date very awkward. We were rushed out because they were closing. I would have preferred to have been refused service when asking for a table and told it is too late, than to have them take our table, provide not so good service, rushed and spitefully served an over priced glass of wine. Originally they tried to get us to sit in their bar (because it is open later I guess), also a bar seating is an awkward vibe for a first date. So we opted for the table. And the wine actually gave me a huge headache afterwards. Needless to say I won’t be giving Ugo another go. Fritto Misto is where it’s at!

Always easy to get a table in since they have plenty of space. Can’t say I’m a fan of the food but the pastries are decent. I wasn’t impressed with the pizza and overall, everything was just okay. They’re nice and pretty fast with their service though so that’s nice.

Ugo cafe in santa monica promenade. When I first tried the tortillini limone, it was decent. But when the lady owner or manager was there, it was all soggy. Not to mention the yucky salad with year old croutons and year old chicken. Her service made the food even worse, she looks like a cockroach. Next time you want a salad go to Mixt on the promenade and for great Italian food go to Impasta, much better. Avoid this cockroach looking owner or manager and her awful food and UGO in santa Monica. If you go to UGO in santa monica, itll make you never want to go again. I dont know about the other locations, but the one in Santa Monica promenade should be named YUCKGO

The tortellini were not good, TJ's has better quality pasta. The dish was not abundant at all.... The pizza is Ok. We ordered a glass of wine and they didn't serve it to you at the table, we think it wasn't what we ordered. I do not recommend it.

They misleadingly have half of cocktails for happy hour but inflate cocktail prices to compensate. We were told Martinis were half off and ordered 6. Our check said Happy Hour Martinis $15. That means $30 martinis??? Crazy. No other cocktail on their menu is that high and they probably used well vodka. :(
