We went to see what the hype was about their special Kaisen bento box, to compare it with the Chirashi Sushi at TGI Sushi.
1. when we went in, there was no one at the front to even ask us how many of us there was going to be.
2. A woman came in behind us and a waitress came out, looked past us to ask what she wanted: she wanted a take out. She was served while we stood there.
3. Finally we were taken to a table and told to order on the laptop computer that was there, & asked what we wanted to drink. No instructions about ordering but that was easy to figure out. We did that.
4. No human contact at all until, after a while, all the food & drink was put on the table by the waitress without a single word.
5. When we finished, we waited more than 5 minutes to be able to flag the only waitress down for the bill which was quickly produced. Shortly after that, she came back with the hand held credit card thing, we paid & left.
(Husband left 20% tip which I thought was way too much for all that silence.)
6. Not going back. my suggestion: Try some other place. I like a friendly hello, a "how is the food" in the middle, a "thank you", a "goodbye, come back soon" when we leave.

Great Japan Sushi is a hidden gem! Their Salmon Don and Sushi Salad are absolutely fantastic—the fish is incredibly fresh, tender, and full of flavor. Every bite melts in your mouth! If you love high-quality sushi, this place is a must-try. Highly recommended!

Ajito in Cupertino is a quiet restaurant located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. My party of three visited on a Friday night and were pleasantly surprised to find the restaurant not packed at all. We were seated immediately. The ordering system is entirely iPad-based, right at your table, which includes ordering drinks like water – so don't forget to add it to your order!
I tried the Kaisen Bento. It was very reasonable priced and the staff was kind enough to let me replace the shell fish with salmon. It also comes with uni but it wasn't that fresh. Overall it was vey decent. My friend raved about the Chicken Teriyaki, praising the flavorful sauce and perfectly cooked meat. We also shared the Chicken Karaage , which was also cooked to a crisp and golden perfection.
Service was fast and friendly, making for a smooth and enjoyable meal. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed, perfect for a casual dinner.

The Best Japanese restaurant.
Not high end, but definitely the best Japan home-style local food. Reasonable price as well.

Kaisen Bento and special lunch set A (beef tongue curry and chicken namban) today were AMAZING. The most deluxe bentos I've ever had in the area. Price is actually quite reasonable considering how tasty the food was. Highly recommended!!!
(Note they aren't offering yakitori these days due to charcoal supply issues. Not sure when they will come back.)

Cozy Japanese restaurant with excellent food! Their sushi was very Japanese style with the sushi rice completely hidden by the fish (unlike most Americanized sushi that has a huge wad of sushi rice under the fish). The Sashimi Salad was also excellent. Also enjoyed Edamame and Moro Q (cucumber with plum paste and mayoness). The decor is simple and modern. Screens segment the room to make it cozier and more intimate. You order on a tablet but sometimes the tablet gets locked and a server has to unlock it again for you. They usually have 3 daily specials. The have regular, low sodium, and gluten free soy sauce on every table. Their in restaurant menu is more extensive than the menu they publish on their website -- quite a few good looking vegetarian options. Overall I highly recommend this restaurant. Reasonable prices.
Vegetarian options: The have a variety of vegetarian options: veggie sushi, curry, appetizers, side dishes, a salad, and miso soup.

So nice. Everthing is Perfect.

I don't usually post reviews of restaurants I've only been to once but I was rather surprised by the experience considering I had no expectations coming in for a place we picked out just because it was close. We came here with a 1 year old so we ordered a variety of things but what stood out to me was the simple plate of salmon slices. Of all the sashimi orders we had, this was the only one to have a side of real wasabi, still on top of the grater no less. I can count on one hand the number of random Japanese restaurants I've been to that actually offer real, grated wasabi (not counting fine dining establishments or places in Japan itself). I'm not sure why it was included in only this dish but not the others that had the standard green horseradish but I'll have to find out for next time.
We also ordered the kaki fry (deep fried oyster) and it came with the standard dipping sauces which I didn't think much of until I tried the tartar sauce. I exclaimed to my wife how that one "throwaway" sauce could have been its own thing based on how good it was. It was a more egg-forward tartar than most places at a time when most restaurants are cutting back on ingredients to cut costs.
It's little details like these that make me give this restaurant provisional full marks until we go back at least a second time to try more of the menu.

Great place, been around to various japanese restaurants in this area with pretty mixed results. However, this is consistent one of the best and most authentic feeling.
Most recommended dish is the big assorted sashimi. The types of fish are less conventional (in a good way) and all taste fresh. They also include real ground wasabi with it.
Their grilled fishes are really good too, grilled preserving a nice fattiness but not overwhelmingly so.
They have at table tablets for ordering as you go, it's looks a little weird but is functional (feels like an app a coder friend helped them make or something).

Food was delicious. Especially the eggplant curry. And the gindara; not over salty. Freshest sashimi I've had in a while. Service was excellent and felt very comfortable. Will definitely be coming back.

Delicious Japanese izakaya cooking at its best in San Jose, CA. Loved the Salmon onigiri which were pretty dense rice balls fried to a crispy exterior. Unagi sushi and chicken namban were delightful too. They also have quite a few bento sets available on both lunch and dinner. The place got kinda toasty without much ventilation so one star off.

Terrific Japanese cuisine in an unassuming location. The sashimi is great, but my party found ourselves more impressed by some other dishes: grilled chicken and the eggplant curry were surprise hits. Explore the menu and be delighted — with flavor!
Wheelchair accessibility: It's a little tight inside but zero steps at the door.
