This place is so yummy and a hit no matter who you come with.

My favorite to order in order is
1) sweet and sour fried fish
2) sauteed eggplant with fish flavor (idk why it's so good here)
3) house special fish

Everything is good but those are my favorite go to.

The staff are so friendly and kind as well. It's my go to family style restaurant.

Parking: Right in front of the restaurant there's plenty of free parking. I've never had trouble parking here even at peak dinner time on a Saturday night”

Nick was incredibly friendly and taught us about the ideal brewing times, tea quantities, and water ratios to make each drink. The unique plates were particularly good, like the Hopi Blue Corn Enchiladas, a vegetarian dish that balanced sweet corn kernels with tart tomatillo sauce and a flavorful tortilla. Portions were generous, and the beans, rice, and guacamole on platter dishes were great. Also has a few bottled beers and Mexican sodas to choose from.”

“Matcha lovers rejoice! For those of you who are obsessed with matcha and looking for something new to try, Izumi Matcha is the newest matcha shop on the block!

Izumi Matcha strives to bring the highest quality authentic Japanese matcha to America, providing patrons with not only matcha drinks and desserts for purchase, but also a variety of matcha good available in-store. I would go out on a limb and guess that majority of those visiting Izumi Matcha are wanting to sample their drinks or taiyaki treats, so keep in mind the lines can be quite long. Ordering is all done in-store on a self-serve kiosk and then you wait for your matcha treat to be ready and retrieve it when your number is called. Naturally, the store is busier on the weekend, but I've noticed that the 5-6pm window might be a sweet spot where the line does die down a bit (don't quote me on this as I've only been there twice).

Now onto what we tried! We ordered their matcha yuzu tea and the honey hojicha latte. The matcha yuzu pairing was a match made in heaven as the tart yuzu perfectly balances the earthy matcha for a smooth, yet refreshing drink. For those of you who want some extra matcha oomph you can also add a free extra matcha shot to your drinks! The hojicha on the other hand was a delicious not-too-sweet cup of roasted goodness. With the honey and dairy providing a smooth accompaniment for the deep roasted notes of the hojicha. I could go on and on about how good the drinks here, but honestly you should try it for yourself to really understand why so many people are flocking to Izumi Matcha. I only tried the drinks when I've been, but the taiyaki and soft serves are also extremely popular, so those will have to be on my list to try in the future!

If you're looking for the next best matcha place to try out in the Bay Area, the I highly recommend giving Izumi Matcha a try (as long as you can bear the long lines and wait, it'll be well worth it)!”

“When we think sushi, we come here and we are never disappointed. The fish is fresh and the rolls are proportioned well. As for the omakase platter, it really is ALL that and more!! Compared to other places that serve ‘chef choice’ sushi, this place wins the prize.

“A random, last minute find on a Friday night with no wait and can accommodate a party of two with an infant in a carseat.
Quaint and no frills restaurant with omakase. Our omakase sashimi order was about 107 dollars, a bit pricey and presentation was not very impressive but every bite was so fresh! Their miso soup was quite delightful, better than most miso soup I’ve had.

Kid-friendliness: We brought our infant in a carseat in, placed the carseat on a chair and tucked it between the wall and the table. I see other families with small kids dining comfortably there too.”

I have visited Chongqing Three times in the last 12 years. I fell in love with the city and especially the food. The two things that I ordered today, I would Eat many times when I was there and the food that I ordered today brought back memories of that food and that city.

We ordered the Large Old Pot Sauerkraut Fish ($27), which came quickly and was piping hot. Fish was tender, vegetables and other ingredients cooked well, very flavorful. They have varying levels of spice for different palates, but the single chili pepper soup was just right for us. “I don't usually post reviews of restaurants I've only been to once but I was rather surprised by the experience considering I had no expectations coming in for a place we picked out just because it was close. We came here with a 1 year old so we ordered a variety of things but what stood out to me was the simple plate of salmon slices. Of all the sashimi orders we had, this was the only one to have a side of real wasabi, still on top of the grater no less. I can count on one hand the number of random Japanese restaurants I've been to that actually offer real, grated wasabi (not counting fine dining establishments or places in Japan itself). I'm not sure why it was included in only this dish but not the others that had the standard green horseradish but I'll have to find out for next time.

We also ordered the kaki fry (deep fried oyster) and it came with the standard dipping sauces which I didn't think much of until I tried the tartar sauce. I exclaimed to my wife how that one "throwaway" sauce could have been its own thing based on how good it was. It was a more egg-forward tartar than most places at a time when most restaurants are cutting back on ingredients to cut costs.

It's little details like these that make me give this restaurant provisional full marks until we go back at least a second time to try more of the menu.”

I ordered about 2 months ahead, paid and confirmed pick up time. All went smooth! They showed me the cake and helped bring it out to my car since the box was really big. The cake was delicious, chocolate with strawberry mouse and the fondant was not too thick, which I really appreciated.

We were actually planning to go somewhere else, but they had a new menu, and my friend’s kid wanted some soup dumplings, so we decided to give it a try. We ordered the steamed sea bass, and it was super fresh and tender.
