R & W Vineyards Winery • $
15060 Montebello Rd, Cupertino

“Beautiful view after a long winding drive. Certainly a place one has to seek out and well worth the effort. Fine wine. Friendly people. Bill showed us around and told us how they harvest and process their grapes to produce their wine. I bought 2 bottles of their estate Cab. Hope to visit again one day.“

Naumann Vineyards Wineries •
16505 Montebello Rd, Cupertino

“Visiting Naumann Vineyards and meeting the owner, Don Naumann, was such a treat. My friend and I were visiting from out of town and he made us feel so welcomed! The wine tasting was affordable and the wine was excellent! He kept our glasses full, shared laughs with us, was very personable and knowledgeable about his wines. I told him I like to take pictures and he welcomed the idea. He even got in a few pictures with us.Just make sure when you get to Naumann Vineyards walk to the back of the building. It’s a house so don’t leave, you’re going in the right direction. You’ll see some great views of the Cali from this vineyard. I highly recommend everyone visiting Don and tasting his delicious wines at Naumann Vineyards. Tell him Juana sent you.“

Fellom Ranch Vineyards Winery • $$
17075 Montebello Rd, Cupertino

“I'd give more stars if I could! Went today on a passport day. It was our 3rd winery in that area and we wished we had gone there first. Probably a good thing we didn't since we would have stayed there all afternoon and getting down the winding road is challenging enough. Where to begin.....the people were amazingly friendly & informative. We got there at 4:30 (they close at 5) and never felt rushed- if anything they were kicking back and included us. They had a wood fire burning that smelt amazing & felt great as it was getting cold. The atmosphere was so beautiful & restful. In a little valley at the top of a mountain, overlooking vineyards- doesn't get better. Now the wine...tasted a chardonnay, 2 zinfandels from 2 different years & a cab. All were so luscious & well made- it was hard to decide what to bring home. They are not open for tastings unless you call ahead or it's a passport day. Can't wait for the next passport day!“

Vidovich Vineyards Winery • $$$
18101 Montebello Rd, Cupertino

“I came as a guest with some friends. I have been a member ever since. I love their wine especially if you love a full bodied Cabernet. Their membership is reasonably priced for the quality of wine. I believe ridge is more expensive but I feel vidovich personally has exceptional wines and their venue is out of this world. I can agree last year they had a hiccup in service and dropped the ball. It was hard to reach them. I'm glad they have re vamped their wine club and made their release party this past fall 2023 a very nice event with music and food. I love their wine so much so I stuck it out.“

Picchetti Winery Wineries • $$
13100 Montebello Rd, Cupertino

“My favorite winery of all time! Picchetti has a variety of different wines for everyone that are all incredible. I enjoy wine tasting and have had wines from all over during my travels in different parts of the world and I can still say that their wine remains my favorite. I especially like the Chardonnay, the red pavone, Syrah, zinfinandel, cissault, and the dessert wines they offer. The staff are always incredible and knowledgeable about the wine. I've had such great conversations with staff while wine tasting. This winery also sits on hiking trails so we will occasionally go on a small hike and have a brunch afterwards outside with the wine tasting. I loved this winery so much that I became a member.“

Ridge Vineyards Winery •
17100 Montebello Rd, Cupertino

“My wife and I have been members at Ridge since 1997. It's always been one of my favorite venues and we're what's known as "two club" collectors. We participate in the Advanced Tasting Program to get more accessible wines that don't require multiple decades of storage and we get a case of Monte Bello each year as well. For bigger events, Ridge has moved to an assigned seat, reserved time slot format that, well frankly, sucks. No more bringing the picnic basket and setting up, no more tasting and buying a couple bottles to share. No more trying to get some pours from the "Old Ridge Drinkers" bottles from the 70s and 80s. It's torn the heart and soul out of what made Ridge events special. I think they've realized the error in their ways, to some degree, and events like the tasting on the evening of Jan 18th harken back to what I love about visiting. There was no fixed seating, we were all free to mingle and chat with other patrons to our hearts content! We had a fabulous time Thursday night and really hope they revert back to more like this and less of the events where we just feel like sausage meat being put through the sausage making machine.“

Coterie Winery Winery •
885 W Julian St, San Jose - 6.88 miles

“I've always seen this place & it's name come up as a local wine spot in San Jose, but never got a chance to check it out until recently. I attended a ladies social or smaller meet up group event here, and loved the overall feel and the wines weren't bad at all! Sometimes the nicer looking wineries or wine tasting rooms don't have the best wines. On the outside it's almost hard to find driving down the street and almost looks like those garage type businesses, but inside it's very warm inviting and we'll decorated. I was lucky to find parking but as it's most residential it's street parking or ride share may be recommended. The space itself is not super huge inside but does accommodate a generous amount of people and has tables inside and outside. Our server/hostess was Priyanka, and some that pour wine just pour without creating an experience for the guests, but Priyanka told us a lot of background story about the wines and even told us about some not on the tasting menu which was fantastic. Even going wine tasting a lot in East Bay Pleasanton/Livermore that type of service has gone down. The wines overall I liked some of the whites and reds, usually I prefer reds but their whites weren't terrible. The pours itself were light compared to other places but I was grateful as I had other events to attend. My only expectation was starting out with a bubbly or sparkling which I love at other wineries. They don't have one here, but I do look forward to coming back to try them again and purchase some bottles. I ordered the tasting and a snack tray, overall it was similar prices to East Bay snacks and wine around $45. I made a mistake of perhaps forgetting to ask for the meat and cheese tray items to be separated for my veg. friend. Or perhaps there should be a cheese only offering and one option with meat and cheese? They're a neighborhood winery with limited hours but did mention food trucks on certain days. A must to go, I would hope for extended hours on another Sunday but it's 1-5pm only. Cheers“

Mount Eden Vineyards Wineries •
22020 Mt Eden Rd, Saratoga - 4.78 miles

“Finally got a chance to go up here last month. I've had the wines before. Chardonnay is the best I've ever had from any producer period. A chard that is actually worth the hefty price! A bit old world Chablis but all the good things about California chard too, ages beautifully! The cab and pinot are pretty good but the chard is definitely unbeatable. Service is great along with the views even if it's not exactly mother nature down below. Anyway, don't sleep on the less expensive Domaine Eden label from the same producer. Those are quite good too!“

Travieso Winery Winery •
165 Cristich Ln, Campbell - 5.72 miles

“My daughter recently discovered this hidden gem of a winery and we had the pleasure of spending a Saturday afternoon there. Ray, the winemaker/owner, welcomed us with a cheese and cracker bar and a pitcher of water on each table. The room is surrounded by wine barrels and the printed art from the labels inducing a relaxing vibe. All the wines we tasted were exceptional, especially the GSM. Ray was a delight to talk with and shared his wine knowledge and life experiences with us. We had a wonderful time and will definitely return!“

Saison Winery Tasting Room Winery •
346 N Santa Cruz Ave, Los Gatos - 7.11 miles

“Awesome wine tasting room in DTLG! I met a friend here and as soon as I got to the table, the tasting room associate delivered me a pour of their rosé, which was absolutely fabulous. After sipping on that, we chose from their 5 different tasting flights, all of which consisted of 3 wines at various prices. I went with the saison experience, which consisted of 1 white and 2 reads, and my friend the burgundy flight, which was all pinots. As we worked thorough our tastings we were delighted to be given another extra pour that was similar to our flights. Each time we were given a wine/new wine to try we were provided with some information about the grapes and the style the wine was made - tasting notes with flavor profiles for each wine were listed on the back of the menu with all the wines they had.Overall we had a great experience and both ended up going home with at least a bottle. I went home with the rosé and merlot, and I was tempted to go home with even more than one bottle of that rosé. Definitely plan to come back here and taste again sometime!“

Testarossa Winery Wineries • $$
300 College Ave, Los Gatos - 8.06 miles

“Let me start off by saying I never write reviews but feel compelled to do one after our visit.Testarossa for the win! My wife and I (mostly her) have traveled from the East Coast to the West Coast and abroad to visit vineyards or attend tastings. Saying this to say, we know a little about quality wine. We stumbled upon this vineyard while we were in California for a wedding. On an free day prior to the wedding, I was in charge of finding and booking tastings for us (mostly her). I had three tastings lined up for the day and Testarossa was stop #1. I read all the reviews to make a reservation so we did (and highly recommend). We decided on the tour (also highly recommended). It was raining that day, but the sun peeked out for about 7.4 seconds so we optimistically kept the reservation hoping for better weather. The rain continued - c'est la vie. But thankfully, we met our guide, Missy Elliot (not the rapper). She was/is the most knowledgeable, personable, amiable tour guide we ever met. She braved the elements for us, snuck in a few well timed anecdotes, and knew the history of the vineyard as if she lived there. She made Testarossa feel like family. The place was amazing and the wine was fantastic! The nicknames for the silos were hilarious. We sipped, lost track of time, and bought 4-6 bottles of their fine wine. Cannot remember specific amount due to the copious amounts of alcohol in our system. I accidentally broke a wine class and Missy was quick to come with a spray bottle that removed all traces out of my tan shirt. Testarossa is a gem and kudos to them for hiring Missy. She was the bright spot on a rainy day. Needless to say we didn't make it to our next destinations. After the tour, we headed to their patio for a snack. In my humble opinion, Testarossa is better than some of those pretentious vineyards to the north. Do yourself a favor, add them to your travel plans, you won't be disappointed.“
