“Armitage wines offers a truly outstanding experience. It is not just the great history of the estate which was formerly owned by Alfred Hitchcock, but the delicious and high quality wines that you can sample in this amazing setting. The current owners are very welcoming and attentive and especially dedicated to creating a great tasting experience for their guests. We spend a whole afternoon trying the different wines and I have to say it is rarely the case that I am as pleased with the sampling as I was at Armitage. Next to this, the vineyard offers amazing views. Tucked away in the redwood trees you can see for miles while overlooking the grapes from the top of the estate. When the sun sets in the afternoon, it makes for an amazing play of light and shadows. We truly loved visiting this place and will definitely come back. It is well worth a trip. If this does not convince you, please see the attached photos. I am in no way affiliated to this place, but was simply amazed by our afternoon here.“
“We just spent an extremely pleasant afternoon, sailing with Team O’Neill and sampling Pelican Ranch wines. Next time we’re in Capitola (soon), we will be visiting the tasting room and bringing a few bottles home for sure!“
“Free wine tasting, up to 5 wines per day. Most have won awards, decent prices ranging from $30-45/bottle. They also have other more expensive wines for sale. Our bartender let us sample a $75/bottle wine that was opened per customer request for testing for free. Great experience. They run specials, but you need to ask about them. There are absolutely fantastic homemade pastries for sampling with the wine (also free).Place is a little out of the way in a side road behind other businesses. Not in the redwoods directly, or on the beach or obviously in a vineyard. But still a great experience and I would go back.“
“Leia was an amazing host while talking us through the wine tasting. She was very knowledgeable about the wines on the list and we had a wonderful time with her. All the wines that we tried from the vineyard were delicious and we couldn't recommend this place enough.“
“We had a corporate event at the winery and it was a blast. It’s a beautiful venue with spectacular sunset views. Nice wine, good service and great food. There are several outdoor games on their premises to keep the guest entertained. We also participated in the wine blending activity which was so much more fun than I anticipated. Overall a great experience !“
“The BEST wines I’ve ever had. I’ve be been to countless tasting rooms across California, the USA, and Italy, and have never joined a wine club. One visit to MJA changed everything. The wines were so phenomenal that I had to sign up for as many bottles as possible each quarter. If you are looking for exceptional wine, this is the place. 10/10, HIGHLY recommend.“
“Stand out winery - we had a wine passport for the area that gives you tastings at a lot of local wineries within the Peninsula - Santa Cruz County and Wrights was one of our favorites. The wines were delicious, the service was super friendly and their location is serene among the trees and vineyards. Also the drive off of 17 was really easy. Would go back and definitely recommend.“
“Great and friendly staff. Very helpful.“
“We enjoyed a great and spontaneous tasting experience late this afternoon. We were headed to another tasting venue and decided to stop in and explore what Madson had to offer. We were promptly greeted by a friendly server, who, during our tasting was gracious and allowed us to customize our tasting experience. She was knowledgeable about the wines and freely shared her knowledge of the winery’s history. The experience was positive and the wine was delicious. We inquired about their wine club and can now look forward to having new releases sent to us. I highly recommend Madson!“
“Just a wonderful time popping into this pleasant cozy establishment and enjoying some sips. It is a “tasting room” setup, specializing in “flights”, but can accommodate a little off the main fare if the tasting selection is not to your preference. But again, it is a tasting setup, not a wine bar, so the amount is limited & bottles available for purchase (at a reasonable price I might add) cannot be consumed on premises. So if you find yourself shopping downtown and want to get off you feet for a little while and enjoy a nice selection of wine for tasting, walk a couple blocks over from Pacific on Church and I’m sure you’ll enjoy their selection and the friendly staff.“
“Nice property. Decent wines. Good prices. Great service.
Tasting is $10 for 5 wines. They make a nice variety of wines, but more pinot noir and red heavy with some Italian styles. Wines are all very fragrant, but taste was ok. Only 1 standout wine. They waive the tasting fee for every 2 bottle purchase, but their flexible. Bottles are mostly $30-50
Stephanie was awesome. Very knowledgeable, friendly, passionate about the wines. Not very busy on a Saturday. Outdoor seating only. A bit strange that there was only 1 low table with chairs. Rest were all high top standing tables so be prepared to stand or sit in the sun on the side areas. Open seating. You go up to the bar area to get your own wines and taste at your own pace. Only 1 restroom. Self serve water provided. No food allowed (not sure why, they don't sell food)“
“Byington Thank you for supporting the Lucky Run this past Sunday to benefit Novato High School's Safe & Sober Grad Night. We appreciate you! Safe and Sober Grad of Novato“
“The tasting is good. I particularly liked the first two better; rosé and pinotage. I'm not a fan of pinot but cabernet never disappoints (but that's a matter of taste and pairing). The view here is beautiful, and another point to highlight is that children are welcome, and it is also totally allowed to bring food from outside to have a family picnic while you enjoy some delicious wine and the magnificent view that the place offers you.. It's worth it. It's worth the winding road to get there.“
“We have tasted many times at Wargin Wines and Mikael’s wines never fail to amaze us… so much so that we became members a while back! I tend to get headaches easily from wine and his wines have never done that. I think he is using quality practices to produce interesting, full bodied and tasty varieties. It’s always fun to see what new wines he has to offer. We’ve taken lots of friends to join our tastings (included in our membership BTW!) and they have all loved it too! Good prices, fun labels and great service! Try Wargin Wines!“

“Absolutely one of the most beautiful places I have ever DJed. Marky and her staff were exceptional. Very well kept grounds. Top notch venue!!“
“Me and my wife had our small wedding reception at Stockwell Cellar this past September and we could not have been happier with the outcome. Suzanne and Eric made our special day amazing through the quality of service throughout the night and of course through their amazing selection of wine. The wine slushies were a huge hit even for those who are not big wine drinkers. This is the perfect location for any wine lover looking for a fun space to host an event in!“
“Great wine and property and staff!“
“Lots of very unique blend wines, reasonable price and friendly staff!“
“Good wine, beautiful scenery and a very nice owner and staff“
“Worth a visit. We had a chance to chat with one of the wine makers (husband and wife) and learned a lot about their wine making approach and how diligent and passionate they are. The white blend is unusual and interesting. They have refined it over the years and it now does come out quite well. All wines we had were at least good, several remarkable and reasonably priced. The place is friendly and down to earth.“

“(Translated by Google) Very nice wine tasting in the heart of Santa Cruz. The person in charge of the tastings spoke very good French, which allowed us to take full advantage of this wine discovery. I highly recommend.(Original)Très agréable dégustation de vin au cœur de Santa Cruz. La personne en charge des dégustations parlait très bien français, ce qui nous a permis de profiter pleinement de cette découverte de vin. Je recommande vivement.“
“Great cider, Great Wine...from Great People !!“
“Family-run winery specializing in local and unique wines. A couple of their wines have even received 100 pts at the California State Fair! Initially they only had a few red wines but over the past couple years have expanded to include whites and a port. The winery is open Fridays and Saturdays for tastings (Reserve space on their website). I love the Firenze super Tuscan blend, the Zinfandel and the Viogner. They also have a second tasting room on the Westside open Thurs-Sun every week.“
“We usually frequent Santa Cruz so this was our first time stopping in Capitola, glad we popped in before hitting the beach. Service was great, server was extremely knowledgeable and personable, and wines were delicious. Very nice way to pass an hour in the early afternoon waiting for the heat to turn up.“
“Met David Bruce way back first in Tampa fl at Burns restaurant. Second met David Bruce and wife at their house. The best wine he was making was aGewürztraminer. BUT IT DID NOT Sell BECAUSE IT COULD NOT BE PRONOUNCED. What a shame, it was delicious. But I had a great time both time I met David Bruce.“
