“The view is spectacular, it feels magical and is like being in vacation s with so much gree, besides the vineyard you enjoy the pines and a big redwood tree up by the gazebo. Wine is amazing. Well rounded, delicious aroma, and paring it with the chocolates they offer, even better. The owners are super friendly. And it is a great venue to host parties and weddings.“

Doon to Earth Winery •
10 Parade St Suite B, Aptos

“This fantastic new tasting room combines Ser and Bonny Doon wines into a single wine tasting experience. There is amble indoor seating, bar seating, and a small outdoor patio area. You can do a five wine flight or a 3 wine dealer's choice sampling of different wines. Really excellent wines and friendly service. It's wonderful to have a tasting room for Bonny Doon wines again. They have really great unique wines like their Orange wine and their OVNI sparkling wine is exquisite. You can also order empanadas from Fonda Felix to pair with your wines. They are a little pricey for my taste at $7.50 per empanada but they were tasty. Definitely check out this great addition to the Aptos area!“

Nicholson Vineyards Winery Winery •
2800 Pleasant Valley Rd, Aptos

“We met friends at Nicholson Vineyards and the experience was great. The tasting menu had 5 wines: viognier, chardonnay, pinot noir, petite sirah, and zinfandel. Our server was professional and the wines were a treat. The surroundings are beautiful and we enjoyed every minute. We didn’t order food except the raspberry dark chocolates at the end and they were amazing. You’ll need a reservation here, so plan ahead. Also, totally dog friendly. We left ours at home, but there were many well-behaved pups here and they added to the experience.“

Inversion Wines Winery •
75 Mt Hermon Rd, Scotts Valley

“Great wines, and a great atmosphere! The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, and we had a great time trying the variety of wine from the area. We took our kids with us a couple times as well in the summer, and they have a nice outdoor seating area, as well as comfy couches and seating inside. There was often a food truck there on the weekends, so it was a great spot for a relaxing wine tasting trip and good food along with it.“

Wargin Wines Winery • $$
5015 Soquel Dr, Soquel

“We popped in here for our wine tasting and it was one of the best wine experiences we’ve ever had. The pourer, T, was super friendly and kind and made our experience that much more special. The wines were incredible as well. You can tell a lot of heart and soul goes into this place. If we were local we would’ve definitely walked away with several bottles, especially the Chardonnay port“

Armitage Wines Wine Bar • $$
5610 Scotts Valley Drive PMB 374, Scotts Valley

“Armitage wines offers a truly outstanding experience. It is not just the great history of the estate which was formerly owned by Alfred Hitchcock, but the delicious and high quality wines that you can sample in this amazing setting. The current owners are very welcoming and attentive and especially dedicated to creating a great tasting experience for their guests. We spend a whole afternoon trying the different wines and I have to say it is rarely the case that I am as pleased with the sampling as I was at Armitage. Next to this, the vineyard offers amazing views. Tucked away in the redwood trees you can see for miles while overlooking the grapes from the top of the estate. When the sun sets in the afternoon, it makes for an amazing play of light and shadows. We truly loved visiting this place and will definitely come back. It is well worth a trip. If this does not convince you, please see the attached photos. I am in no way affiliated to this place, but was simply amazed by our afternoon here.“

Kissed By an Angel Wines Winery •
75 Mt Hermon Rd, Scotts Valley

“Free wine tasting, up to 5 wines per day. Most have won awards, decent prices ranging from $30-45/bottle. They also have other more expensive wines for sale. Our bartender let us sample a $75/bottle wine that was opened per customer request for testing for free. Great experience. They run specials, but you need to ask about them. There are absolutely fantastic homemade pastries for sampling with the wine (also free).Place is a little out of the way in a side road behind other businesses. Not in the redwoods directly, or on the beach or obviously in a vineyard. But still a great experience and I would go back.“

Birichino Winery Tasting Room Wineries • $$
204 Church St, Santa Cruz

“My bookclub was having its first meeting and after reading reviews and looking at the pictures this seemed like the coziest spot to delve into literature. I called a week earlier to reserve a table for 8 and was quickly accommodated. Not to mention whoever answered and took my reservation was kind, friendly and had great phone etiquette. When I walked in our reservation was clearly marked and the woman pouring wine and acting as hostess was amazing. She was quick to get our tastings together and made sure to ask if we needed anything and was just so pleasant all around. We all mentioned how we wished we new about this soot sooner. Wine was nice and I ended up buying 2 bottles. Looking forward to my next visit.“

Bargetto Winery Wineries • $$
3535 N Main St, Soquel

“Fantastic place to have a tasty glass of wine or to enjoy a flight of five different wines. Bargetto offers three different flights, although their bottle purchase selection exceeds that. My favorite for the day was a reserve Pinot and a reserve Cab. They have a large patio overlooking the Soquel Creek which is my favorite place to sit (well, not when it's raining). Lastly, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and you will leave feeling like you made some new friends. 5/5!“
