The sashimi melts in your mouth. The rolls are so fresh as well! The beef teriyaki is amazing
Hidden gem of Cupertino
Great Japanese food! High quality sushi and delicious bento boxes. Perfect for an easy, tasty, and healthy work lunch.
It’s like walking into a neighbor’s home for dinner, quiet and cozy, and you naturally strike a conversation with people sitting next door. Food is nothing exceptional but tasted fresh. A bit pricy to my standards but I guess maybe that’s the norm nowadays in the Bay Area. 🤷

Sushi Kuni is a Japanese restaurant that has received mixed reviews from its customers. The restaurant offers a variety of traditional Japanese dishes, including sashimi, nigiri, and teriyaki. Customers have described the special dinner combo as a great deal, and the sashimi as the "star" of the meal. The restaurant is known for its quiet and respectful atmosphere, and the service is often described as kind, friendly, and responsive.
However, some customers have noted that the portions can be small for the price, and the fish quality may not always be the best. The service can also be a bit slow, potentially due to understaffing. Despite these issues, the restaurant's traditional Japanese decor and variety of dishes, including salmon teriyaki, beef teriyaki, chirashi deluxe, and salmon sashimi and nigiri, are often praised.
The restaurant has also received positive feedback for its mom-and-pop shop atmosphere, with customers appreciating the non-snobby and welcoming attitude of the staff. The sushi is consistently described as fresh and not skimpy, and the restaurant offers a decent selection of alcoholic beverages, including a Chardonnay option.
Overall, Sushi Kuni seems to offer a satisfying dining experience, with a mix of positive and negative reviews. The restaurant's strengths lie in its traditional Japanese ambiance, fresh sushi, and friendly service, while its weaknesses include inconsistent portion sizes, fish quality, and service speed.
