“We went to Surmai yesterday and honestly, the food was fabulous. We tried the prawn thali, the special thali, and the paplet thali, and every single dish hit the mark. We ended up so full we could barely move, but in the best way possible.

If you’re a fan of vada pav and Amul Pav Bhaji, this is definitely a spot to check out. The vada pav especially was SO good. I still remember how delicious it tasted even after leaving SF.

It was about an hour’s drive from where I was staying during my trip, so it wasn’t exactly close, but honestly, it was 100% worth the drive. Good food, quick preparation, and a great overall vibe. I’d happily make the drive again just for that vada pav!”

“I’ve been coming to this food truck since 2023, and it has genuinely become one of my favorite spots in the Bay Area. The uncle who runs the place is always so friendly, humble, and soft-spoken, and that warmth makes the experience even better.

Coming from India, finding a vada pav that actually tastes authentic means a lot to me, and this place absolutely nails it. The vada is perfectly crispy on the outside and full flavourful and hot inside, and the combination of the authentic dry peanut chutney, onions, and green mirchi is just amazing. I’ve tried vada pav at so many popular places around the Bay Area—places people constantly recommend—and I can confidently say that this one is very hard to beat.

The chole bhature is another favorite of mine. Absolutely delicious—you really cannot complain about anything. I’ve also tried their masala puri and dahi papdi chaat, and both have been consistently good. This place has never disappointed me. And definitely try their falooda too!

I’ve even been one of those late-night customers calling just before closing and saying, “Uncle, I’m only 5 minutes away!” 😄 Even when everything is practically closed, he has been so accommodating and has kept my food ready for me. That kind of hospitality is something I really appreciate and remember.

If you love authentic Indian street food as they have lots of options, please give this little food truck a try. It deserves a lot more recognition. I’ve been coming here for years for a reason, and I’ll definitely keep coming back! ❤”

Others in our group that are vegetarian were also very pleased with their meals. The Caprese sandwich and the ttomato bisque with the side of bread were very popular. The cookies though shouldn't be overlooked. They were very soft and delicious. If you come here you have to give the cookies a try.”

They have a simple menu, freshly made tortillas, and no added oil, a variety of salsas, I love a super spicy one that's red (I think it's made with árbol chili).

My friend took me here for `gourmet' bagels. We tried the following:
1. pesto bagel with jalapeno cream cheese -- had (fresh?) crunchy chopped jalapeno in an otherwise reddish cheese. I couldn't clearly taste the pesto.
2. marinara bagel sun-dried tomato and garlic cream cheese --- I liked this one better, could taste the Italian-pizza flavour.

These bagels are thin, and are puffy and not tight/dense.
Thinner (shorter) bagels and a thinner layer of cream cheese compared to that of an NYC bagel.
The cream cheese is slightly melted, and that's nice.”

The noice doesn’t resound here and all the pastries are in individual bags or kept in the display racks with the sliding doors. In other locations their pastries are open to germs since the pastries are just there without a sliding doors to keep their pastries from peoples coughs and other airborne free radicals in the air. “since the last time we came here about 6 months almost a year ago massive improvement the service was excellent the food quality was much much better the management team and employees were very pleasant to talk to and deal with the only thing I had a complaint about and wasn't even a complaint more of a concern lack of knowledge on the server part of knowing the Denny's members promotion app which is more of a lack of training on Denny's part did speak to the regional manager very pleasant man and I can see why now Denny's has improved so much at this time Denny's has a great team and according to what he said to me they were going to train the servers on this new app which was music to my ears great job guys”

“Such a great pho spot in Sunnyvale!

I came to Eat More Pho and was honestly blown away by how clean, bright, and welcoming the restaurant was. A lot of pho restaurants can feel a little dated, so I really appreciated how fresh and comfortable this place felt. I would definitely bring friends and family here.

We ordered the short rib pho, combination pho, chicken wings, crispy fried egg rolls, galbi rice, flan, and Vietnamese egg coffee.

My must-orders are the short rib pho with the big bone-in rib, Vietnamese egg coffee, and flan. The egg rolls were also really crispy and delicious, and the galbi rice was another favorite.

I also loved how easy the menu was to choose from. There are plenty of options, but everything feels organized based on what you’re craving.

Overall, this is definitely a place I would come back to. Great food, very clean restaurant, and a comfortable atmosphere. I can see this becoming one of my regular spots in Sunnyvale!”

“The staff is friendly and quickly steps in to help grill the meat, making the whole experience smooth and easy. The meat is good quality — well-marinated and tender. They also serve generous portions of large intestine, which is a nice touch many places skip.
Overall, it’s one of the stronger Korean BBQ options in San Jose. The only improvement would be offering more variety in banchan sides.
