“I made my first order from Empire Armadillo BBQ through DoorDash today. As a huge fan and loyal customer of Armadillo Willy’s, I was so sad when they closed most of their restaurants. However, the ribs I received today from Empire were the best I’ve EVER had. They were incredibly delicious and I’m already planning to visit this place frequently.“

“The staff is friendly and quickly steps in to help grill the meat, making the whole experience smooth and easy. The meat is good quality — well-marinated and tender. They also serve generous portions of large intestine, which is a nice touch many places skip.
Overall, it’s one of the stronger Korean BBQ options in San Jose. The only improvement would be offering more variety in banchan sides.

From the moment we walked in, the staff made the whole evening feel a bit special without ever overdoing it. They'd given us a beautifully set table tucked away enough to feel a bit private, our server was warm and engaged throughout, and the food was honestly some of the best we've had in months. Every course came out perfectly cooked, generously portioned, and beautifully presented. We worked through a starter each, mains, and a shared dessert at the end, with the staff quietly bringing out a little candle for the birthday in the middle of our group without us having to ask. That gesture absolutely made the evening for the person it was for. The pacing of the meal was textbook — never rushed, never forgotten — and we had plenty of time between courses to actually talk to each other. The bill at the end was very fair for the quality of the whole experience. The family has already agreed it's our new go-to for any kind of special occasion. Lovely place.“

Traveling through town from Nashville Tn where I smoke my own meats and have visited bbq spots all across USA and Canada, some not so good and others that are world known in the business. This little gem in this town was absolutely delicious. Not one thing bad to say. Meats were tender, and Smokey just like I’d want from my own Pitt. Tri Tip, perfectly cooked to med rare with a pepper bite. Ribs had the bite pull back that judges look for. Friendly service from the staff made it even more enjoyable. Thank you wagon wheel.“

The catering is on top, but so is the restaurant. The atmosphere is perfect and the service is impeccable, staff is very friendly and our host had lots of hospitality. “I could not be more stoked about a restaurant than this one. This place has the best tandoori meats and today I got to try a pani puri too and man!!! did my taste buds transport to New Delhi days or what!!! I ordered a combo plate with lamb chops and lamb sheesh kabob. Perhaps the most tender and meatiest lamb chops ever and amazing value for money. The owner himself is vegetarian, yet seems to have perfected meat and veg tandoor dishes. this place is Magic!“

“Came here earlier after my kid’s ball game and got lucky — we arrived early on the weekend, so there was no line yet! Haven’t been to Friendship BBQ in a while, and I was happy to see they updated the menu with a few fresh seafood options. We ordered the crawfish that was on promotion — seriously, what can go wrong with $10 crawfish? 😂 My kid loved the sauce so much that we took the leftovers home, mixed it with instant noodles and a few extra ingredients, and boom… another meal done! Lmao. The BBQ skewers were great — the meat was cooked just right, tender and flavorful. The grilled oysters with garlic sauce were AMAZING. We liked them so much that we ordered a second round. And the black truffle fried rice is definitely a must-try if you haven’t had it before! Service was also really good. The waiters and manager were super nice and friendly. My kid accidentally spilled some food, and they came over right away to clean it up and made sure everyone was okay.

Overall, a great spot for Chinese BBQ skewers, seafood, or late-night snacks with friends. Good food, friendly service, relaxed vibe. Love it! ❤️“

“The owner was incredibly friendly, and the hospitality was wonderful! As a Korean, I’m always looking for authentic Korean restaurants, and this was definitely one of them. The tteokbokki was rich and flavorful, tasted just like the kind I had back home, such a nostalgic treat! We also asked last minute if we could add noodles to our tteokbokki, and she kindly accommodated our request. The galbi and banchan was amazing too. Everything was delicious, and we had such a great experience. Definitely recommend!“

“JC's has been my go-to BBQ spot for over 25 years. I LOVE LOVE LOVE their beef ribs! The meat is always falling off the bone. And they're big! The hot links are addictive, the chicken is perfect and when I used to work close by, on my lunch break I would frequently get their pulled pork. I'm obsessed with the garden salad & dressing!! Always so consistently fresh and crisp! Would recommend 10 out of 10!“

I always find service to be so friendly and kind. They are a small team but do their best to chat with you and make recommendations.

We typically get a 1-meat combo which is more than enough for our 2-3 person family. The portions are huge and the banchan is refilled so unless you're craving tons of different meats, no need to order a ton more.

I also love their tofu soup, it's not too oily and also keeps well if you have leftovers.

The interior is clean and well kept so you'll be comfy with a group anywhere from 2-6 people. Larger groups might be harder to accomodate but I've never had to reserve for under 6.“

“We recently ordered a shipment online. The minimum order was rather large but there's plenty to choose from so it was easy and it came fresh and refrigerated. Most of it can be frozen and it was all delicious after defrosting. We tried the sausage, ravioli and some sauces. The Gigli was a hit with the kids who are fussy eaters. The Linguica that I'd heard about previously is also superb. We cooked it in soups and stir fry dishes as well as on its own. Will definitely order again as the pasta/sauce combos make for an easy meal.“
