“We went to Surmai yesterday and honestly, the food was fabulous. We tried the prawn thali, the special thali, and the paplet thali, and every single dish hit the mark. We ended up so full we could barely move, but in the best way possible.

Chef Sheetal came by our table and was so warm and welcoming, it made the whole experience even better. You can tell there’s real care that goes into the food here.

“We went to Fashion Wok only to discover that it has become part of Home Eat and moved to the corner of the same street. There are a lot on the menu, with some catered more for non Chinese. We ordered the half lamb hot pot, it was tasty and had generous portion that came with a small side dish of tofu, vermicelli and vegetables. We recommend this dish and would suggest skipping the set lunch that seems to be more for non Chinese.“

It is the standard sized roll you see in this area for Vietnamese sandwiches.

“I’ve been coming to this food truck since 2023, and it has genuinely become one of my favorite spots in the Bay Area. The uncle who runs the place is always so friendly, humble, and soft-spoken, and that warmth makes the experience even better.

Coming from India, finding a vada pav that actually tastes authentic means a lot to me, and this place absolutely nails it. The vada is perfectly crispy on the outside and full flavourful and hot inside, and the combination of the authentic dry peanut chutney, onions, and green mirchi is just amazing. I’ve tried vada pav at so many popular places around the Bay Area—places people constantly recommend—and I can confidently say that this one is very hard to beat.

The chole bhature is another favorite of mine. Absolutely delicious—you really cannot complain about anything. I’ve also tried their masala puri and dahi papdi chaat, and both have been consistently good. This place has never disappointed me. And definitely try their falooda too!

I’ve even been one of those late-night customers calling just before closing and saying, “Uncle, I’m only 5 minutes away!” 😄 Even when everything is practically closed, he has been so accommodating and has kept my food ready for me. That kind of hospitality is something I really appreciate and remember.

If you love authentic Indian street food as they have lots of options, please give this little food truck a try. It deserves a lot more recognition. I’ve been coming here for years for a reason, and I’ll definitely keep coming back! ❤“

“We ordered take-out pizza this afternoon and it was excellent! We ordered Cowell’s Combo and replaced the bells and onions with artichoke hearts. We were offered coupon pricing over the phone and the customer service was outstanding. I picked up our pizza right as it was coming out of the oven and the customer service provided was perfect. We got a nice bag of plates, napkins, peppers and Parmesan. Service with a smile is unusual these days and so it was refreshing. The quality of the crust and generous toppings made for a delicious pizza. We’ll be back!“

Right off the bat the worker saw me and my friends and suggested that we take a look at their special deals which was incredibly kind and definitely saved us some money! We ordered the 2 small pizza specials and chose the hot honey pepperoni and the garlic chicken. Both were very delicious but our personal favorite was the hot honey. Got the house special selection large size and it came out really fast. Comes with all the ingredients you would expect from an excellent pho. There were a lot of noodles in there and the broth was super tasty! The beef was also quite enjoyable. I would definitely come back to eat more pho.

“This is the best pan-fried soup dumpling I’ve had in the Bay Area. The xiao long bao have thicker skins, and while I personally prefer the thinner ones from Din Tai Fung, these still have plenty of soup and aren’t bad. The dumplings, mushroom pork buns, chicken pan-fried dumplings, and spicy beef hotpot were all solid and tasty, though not particularly outstanding. The scallion bun is packed with scallions, making it a must-try for scallion lovers. Overall, the food was delicious, and I’ll definitely visit again.“

“I like this shop better than the other bagel place cafes I have tried. Ordered an egg bacon cheese on tomato basil and the blueberry crunch with cream cheese. The bacon is actually very crispy unlike the soggy bacon I have tasted at other places, and they toast the bagels a little more as well, which I like. The tomato basil was excellent and you can’t go wrong with the blueberry crunch. Will definitely be back!“

Average neighborhood Mongolian grill. If you want Mongolian grill food it would work for you. If you have shellfish allergies, or maybe any food allergy, I would avoid this place. They cook by dragging the food around the grill once per person instead of a space they clean like the larger grills will do. They just place the next bowl immediately after and drag it around across the previous persons stuff. I was eating shrimp and I eat spicy, so for me it wasn't an issue. Sucks for the person following me, and sucked for my son (9) as he followed a spice lover and his dish ended up too spicy for him to enjoy. He was pretty disappointed.“

“I’m honestly surprised I didn’t discover this spot sooner. I had heard of it before, but this was my first visit and I was really impressed. It is a large, cozy space with simple interiors and a very busy kitchen, which says a lot about how much traffic they get. The food definitely lived up to the popularity.

I ordered the chicken kebab with the hummus plate as the base. I originally wanted to try the majadera rice and lentils, but they were out of it, probably because I visited close to closing time. Thankfully, the hummus plate turned out to be an excellent choice. The chicken was incredibly tender and well seasoned, and it came with generous portions of hummus, baba ghanoush, onions, cilantro, pickles, purple cabbage, and other sides. They even included fries in the mix, and surprisingly, everything worked together really well. It was such a unique combination that I was genuinely impressed.

I also tried a couple of falafel balls out of curiosity, and they paired really well with the rest of the meal. The only small downside was that the soda was not as cold as I would have liked. The staff were nice, although understandably quite busy with the rush.

Overall, this was a fantastic Mediterranean food experience and easily one of the more interesting combinations I’ve tried. I absolutely recommend it and cannot wait to come back.“

The line was huge when I got there, but the service was surprisingly fast — they move through the crowd efficiently. The meat on my tacos was amazing, generous portions, and packed with flavor. On top of that, it’s cheaper than most taco spots in the area. Highly recommend if you’re craving authentic, well-priced tacos. Their al pastor is amazing! Also the grilled pearl onions is something I have never had elsewhere. Definitely a repeat for me. Three tacos and a drink was $13.“
