Reviews for Mesquite and Oak

I called in and placed an order for the big brisket sandwich and a family sized banana pudding. I chose baked beans as my side. Everything came out to about $24 , $13 for the brisket and $9 for the pudding. The brisket sandwich isn't big to me just normal sized . It will fill you up but won't stuff you. It tasted so good , the peppers and onions aren't needed on it. The baked beans are real soupy but tasted good. I might say they're too sweet for my preference. Moving on full review

I was looking forward to sum good bbq. This place disappointed badly. The ribs and brisket had no taste to it at all. The meat was sitting in a vat of oil. The cowboy beans were tasteless as well. Very very much done with this place. Service is good. Patricia is nice. Never again.

Mesquite and Oak is easily one of the top spots for legit Texas-style BBQ in the South Bay. What's Good: *Some of the best brisket I've ever had has been from M&O. It's smoked properly―look at that smoke ring!―and served "dry" not ensconced in sauce to cover-up the lack of flavor. I just recently had their smoked tri-tip and it too was excellent. *Their Jalapeño Poppers (i.e., "Wolf Turds") are really great! For the uninitiated, a wolf turd is a cheese-stuffed jalapeñ full review
