Chez Sovan Reviews
Authentic Cambodian Gem. Waited 7 years to eat here as the operating hours never aligned with my work schedule. Had a wonderful lunch at Chez Sovan and couldn’t recommend it more! We enjoyed the fish amok, shrimp with green beans, and rice—everything was delicious, flavorful, and felt like a truly authentic Cambodian experience.

This place is a gem and has the best Cambodian food in San Jose! Been coming here for years with the food having one of a kind taste that melts in your mouth with all the special spices and herbs. Love the ginger, fish, and the tumeric noodles! If you’re ever in the area, it’s a must try. The owner is super special and has the best attitude ever every time we see him! Keep up the great work we love it!
The Fish Amok is stellar and tastes just like the version my college roommate’s mom made, so I know it’s the real deal. The Yellow Curry with chicken that I ordered was also delicious. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu!

Chez Sovan is a warm and communal restaurant that offers a delightful dining experience. The staff is fantastic, providing helpful, fun, and friendly service with great attention to detail. The food is great, featuring standouts like the Amok fish, ginger fish, curry, and beef. Meals are served piping hot and fresh, with a focus on traditional Cambodian flavors. The humble cabbage salad has become a favorite among customers, and the ginger fish is noted for its excellent taste. The restaurant has a simple, no-frills atmosphere, but the friendly staff and quality food make up for it. With a cozy atmosphere and reasonable prices (around $17 per plate), Chez Sovan is a great spot to visit, with a constant flow of customers and a welcoming vibe. The chicken curry is distinct in flavor, making it a savory treat and a reason for many to return. Additionally, parking is available in the lot located at the back of the floral store next door.
