“Food here is delicious and you get large portions for the price. Usually takeout but recently came with 6 other people for lunch. Courteous staff and prepared food in timely manner. My go to place for chicken katsu plate, bowl, or musubi. Katsu sauce is not my thing so when I ask them to leave it out they always get it right. Wish the containers were compostable though.“

I couldn’t have picked a better place (apart from the Italian I discovered last night - but that’s totally different)! Do not miss the ribs wrapped in bacon to start, then I had melt in your mouth brisket as part of a plate (amazing corn bread!) and I just couldn’t resist the Nanana dessert despite feeling pretty full. “Excellent service from David. We go to Gen often and order the same items every time. We wanted to try something new, and David hooked it up. He recommended the Honey Soy Beef Belly, then wrap it in radish paper. That easily became our favorite. If you get David, ask him for a recommendation, he knows what's good!P.S. “By far the best tasting bbq in the Bay Area. Not only is the food great but the staff are ridiculously friendly. Gregory is the nicest guy. When we showed up towards the end of the day he went out of our way to accommodate our order even though they had run out of some of the popular meats and sides.“
