“I don’t give 5 stars often to a bbq restaurant! Today I will. Traveling through town from Nashville Tn where I smoke my own meats and have visited bbq spots all across USA and Canada, some not so good and others that are world known in the business. This little gem in this town was absolutely delicious. Not one thing bad to say. Meats were tender, and Smokey just like I’d want from my own Pitt. Tri Tip, perfectly cooked to med rare with a pepper bite. Ribs had the bite pull back that judges look for. Friendly service from the staff made it even more enjoyable. Thank you wagon wheel.“

“Decent portions and fast service! My favorites are the BBQ chicken and spam musubi. The dining area is quite large, which makes for a comfortable wait. I usually order via their website because there is no upcharge or fee—it's the same price as ordering at the counter. Fast, reliable, and friendly! “After wandering up & down Castro St, decided to stop in here after spying some tasty noodles on someone's plate.

The way that it works is that you fill up a bowl or two with all of the ingredients that you want, then they cook it up on the BBQ griddle right in front of you. All you can eat, so you can keep loading up if you want (but max 2 bowls at a time).

The pro move seemed to be to do one bowl with veggies, one bowl with meats, then they can be cooked together. I'd also recommend doing the line for ingredients in reverse order - start with a noodle base & add on top, instead of adding in noodles at the end.

Definitely recommend the pork, chicken, water chestnuts, mushrooms. I'd skip the tofu (even though I normally love tofu).

There's also a self serve vanilla soft serve machine with cake cones. The soft serve itself wasn't stand out on its own, but it was a perfect little balance at the end of the meal.

Plenty of outdoor seating (& great Castro St people watching). Staff was very friendly.

“We booked this for an important family dinner that I really needed to get right, and the venue absolutely came through for me. From the moment we walked in, the staff made the whole evening feel a bit special without ever overdoing it. They'd given us a beautifully set table tucked away enough to feel a bit private, our server was warm and engaged throughout, and the food was honestly some of the best we've had in months. Every course came out perfectly cooked, generously portioned, and beautifully presented. We worked through a starter each, mains, and a shared dessert at the end, with the staff quietly bringing out a little candle for the birthday in the middle of our group without us having to ask. That gesture absolutely made the evening for the person it was for. The pacing of the meal was textbook — never rushed, never forgotten — and we had plenty of time between courses to actually talk to each other. The bill at the end was very fair for the quality of the whole experience. The family has already agreed it's our new go-to for any kind of special occasion. Lovely place.“

“Excellent Mongolian BBQ place where we can adjust the sauces and make it as hot as we want. Sauces came with instructions so I didn't need to guess. Good food and vegetable selections and the ice-cream that came with the package is good! Highly recommend this place!!! Clean, family friendly environment. The owners and staff are all very nice.“

“We’ve been here a few times and each time, our food is delicious. On this June 6, 2026 day, I had the 1 meat bowl which included the smoked chicken and the baked beans.I devoured every bit. Both were so delicious. My husband inhaled his brisket sandwich and my son surprisingly finished his chicken tacos. We even got a greeting from the owner. 😊 We ate outside this time, but the ambiance is good whether we sit in or out. I highly recommend that you try this place if you haven’t already.“

“Fast service, easy QR code ordering, and good menu selection. Fun atmosphere that matches the karaoke next door. The food itself is okay - not bad but also nothing special. The lamb skewers were seasoned nicely but didn’t exactly nail the grill/texture resulting in some unexpected chewiness. eggplant’s was super garlicky - definitely get rice to balance it out. noodle soup was okay but not worth a repeat visit.“

“This is one of the better restaurants in the area! It was perfect and it didn’t give me heart burn afterwards. The food didn’t give me heartburn afterwards and would totally recommend. The catering is on top, but so is the restaurant. The atmosphere is perfect and the service is impeccable, staff is very friendly and our host had lots of hospitality. “Came here earlier after my kid’s ball game and got lucky — we arrived early on the weekend, so there was no line yet! Haven’t been to Friendship BBQ in a while, and I was happy to see they updated the menu with a few fresh seafood options. We ordered the crawfish that was on promotion — seriously, what can go wrong with $10 crawfish? 😂 My kid loved the sauce so much that we took the leftovers home, mixed it with instant noodles and a few extra ingredients, and boom… another meal done! Lmao. The BBQ skewers were great — the meat was cooked just right, tender and flavorful. The grilled oysters with garlic sauce were AMAZING. We liked them so much that we ordered a second round. And the black truffle fried rice is definitely a must-try if you haven’t had it before! Service was also really good. The waiters and manager were super nice and friendly. My kid accidentally spilled some food, and they came over right away to clean it up and made sure everyone was okay.

“The owner was incredibly friendly, and the hospitality was wonderful! As a Korean, I’m always looking for authentic Korean restaurants, and this was definitely one of them. The tteokbokki was rich and flavorful, tasted just like the kind I had back home, such a nostalgic treat! We also asked last minute if we could add noodles to our tteokbokki, and she kindly accommodated our request. The galbi and banchan was amazing too. Everything was delicious, and we had such a great experience. Definitely recommend!“

“JC's has been my go-to BBQ spot for over 25 years. I LOVE LOVE LOVE their beef ribs! The meat is always falling off the bone. And they're big! The hot links are addictive, the chicken is perfect and when I used to work close by, on my lunch break I would frequently get their pulled pork. I'm obsessed with the garden salad & dressing!! Always so consistently fresh and crisp! Would recommend 10 out of 10!“

“We ordered the kalua pork and a combo plate seafood BBQ mix with shrimp and chicken katsu.
The combo plate was huge but it felt like an ordinary dish you could get anywhere else. A bit bland nothing special.
However, the kalua pork was right on point. It tasted really good, tender, juicy, and full of flavor. That dish definitely stood out and made the meal worthwhile. If you go, I’d recommend sticking with the kalua pork.
The Hawaiian cookies was such a sweet surprise to see them there that I bought the guava flavor one. It instantly took me back to beautiful memories of a special place in Hawaii with family. Every bite felt nostalgic and comforting. 🌺“

Overall, it’s one of the stronger Korean BBQ options in San Jose. The only improvement would be offering more variety in banchan sides.

“Really enjoyed our meal at Wooga Korean BBQ! It is a little loud, but the place is just fun. We had the seafood pancake and beef bulgogi, and both were delicious. I always find service to be so friendly and kind. They are a small team but do their best to chat with you and make recommendations.

We typically get a 1-meat combo which is more than enough for our 2-3 person family. The portions are huge and the banchan is refilled so unless you're craving tons of different meats, no need to order a ton more.

I also love their tofu soup, it's not too oily and also keeps well if you have leftovers.

The interior is clean and well kept so you'll be comfy with a group anywhere from 2-6 people. Larger groups might be harder to accomodate but I've never had to reserve for under 6.“

“The Hut has the best Tri tip sandwich I’ve ever had. The pulled pork and pulled chicken sandwich is to die for!! “Crispy pork belly brought us to this restaurant. It didn’t disappointed us, so as another dish - house special pan fried noodles. The dishes were tasty and big portion. The Fried noodles was crispy and topped with mushrooms, fish, pork, chicken, squid, bok choy… it was a good dish! “Tasty and plentiful Korean food. We had a great meal this evening again, having come here many years ago when or kids lived in Palo Alto.
The side dishes are delicious, and we were attended to very well by several servers asking us if everything was okay. They replenished the pickled cucumbers we really enjoyed and offered to bring more other sides.
We ordered edamame to start, followed by chicken bibimbop for my spouse and udon tofu bowl for me, medium spicy. Both of us were very satisfied with our orders.
I'd recommend this place to anyone who likes Korean food or who wants to try it.“

“The rose ddeok-bokki is pure decadence, an absolute dream if you love creamy dishes. If you add cheese on top, the cheese gets that blowtorched, charred flavor. I love the chew of the rice cakes. The cabbage adds pops of sweetness to the dish and although it is cooked, it has a satisfying crisp to it. The fish cakes rounds out the dish with its savoriness. I do feel like it could be better with fresh green onion on top though. Nevertheless, it keeps me coming back.“

“This is a family run restaurant that is reminiscent of tent style eateries in Korea. We loved the banchans. The meat was top notch with top sirloin, ribeye, and the Kurobota pork belly was ace! Squid potato pancake was also yum! I will say the minimum of two meat servings will be enough to serve two adults and two kids. We ordered a third just in case and came back home with some that will turn into a delicious fried rice. The three servers were very warm and hospitable. We have a serious peanut allergy in the family and the server took it very seriously looking at all the ingredients and reporting back to us what may be contaminated vs not. This gave us a peace of mind and we are really well because of it! They work exceptionally hard and looking at the negative comments it seems those to be just an off day as it’s hard for me to believe it being other than fantastic. We came back to this restaurant after 16 years (it was a place my now husband and I loved before we got married and had kids). It felt upgraded but just the same! It was a great place to visit after our trip to Korea. I wish we took pictures, but we were too busy eating everything up!!“
