“L and L is a consistently delicious Hawaiian bbq chain! Their prices are very good, especially for the huge amount of food you get. My favorite are the chicken Katsu plate and bbq short rib plate. The food comes out so quickly and consistently! Will definitely be returning for yummy takeout Hawaiian bbq.“
“My friend was hyping this place up so I decided to see if he spoke some truth to his statements. It didn't disappoint, but it didn't hit it out of the park either. Interior is very presentable. Clean and new. There are a lot of choices to pick from, but you get a limited quantity per category. You have their base, two base toppings, two scoops of protein, five toppings, two sauces (unfortunate), and then two sprinkles. The taste of the fish by itself is okay. Sauce is really good though. I was surprised at how much it was (about $3 more than what I'm used to paying) but their portions are very generous. I could not finish my bowl in one sitting when I always do. Hopefully the next time I come back, I'd find my go-to recipe!“
“Really a hidden gem! I have passed this restaurant so many times and never went in. This Turkish food is amazing! There is an option you can sit outside and grill your food in front of you. The meat or kebab sticks sells about $9 per piece, so depending on how many you eat, you pay less or more. The tables are for 8 people but they can also join them for larger groups.I loved the shift kebab. Baklava was amazing, the service was great. They also offer fresh squeezed orange juice.Yummy!“
“Visited 21MAR2024 - Yes, Lawd! Since this was my first time visiting. LuLu, Jackie's sister, explained how things work. Ordering and paying are done online using a QR code at your table. LuLu explained that no one would come to the table, except to bring your order. She also pointed out where the leftover containers were located if needed.I ordered the two meat with two sides plate. I selected fried chicken and fried fish for my two meats. I ordered collard greens and black-eyed peas for my sides. Two whole chicken wings and two fish filets along with the sides came out in no time. The wings were good. I didn't specifically ask to have them fried hard, the way I like my wings. I could've added a note in my online order. I won't make an issue since the wings were done. I'm not sure what type of fish was served. I meant to ask but forgot. The fish was fried right though. The greens and black-eyed peas were cooked the way I cook them. I was in the area for work. I'll definitely be back if I'm in the area again. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pics.“
“Went for the live music. It was Saint Patrick's Day and they were serving corned beef and cabbage in addition to their regular menu. The place was packed and I think the live music was a surprise to most of the patrons. The duet playing their own renditions of mostly Rock classics, Mary Ellen and Thom Duell were excellent and very engaging with the audience“
“First time visiting this place after seeing it on yelp. Looking for a great skewer place that was authentic (thinking of China). As we approached the entrance we were greeted by an amazing smell of grilled food. Everyone seemed very excited and the wait was long due to many hungry customers. The staff was very friendly and the food even before eating, I know it is fantastic just from the smell and looks.“
“Food: I wanted musubis for a quick snack so I ordered 2 spam musubis and 2 Portuguese sausage musubis. 10/10 They were the perfect rice to meat ratio. The musubis had a sauce on the rice that was a good addition and didn't overpower the flavor of the spam or Portuguese sausage. Probably the best musubis around! They're the first place I've been to that has Portuguese musubis. They have bbq chicken and katsu musubis on their menu also. I will definitely be back when I'm craving musubis. :D Highly recommend getting musubis here and taking them to go on a picnic like I did. Ambience: The cashier counter and kitchen side when you enter the shop is very well lit but the seating side in the next room has very dim lighting but there are several tables and chairs to dine in. Parking: A decent amount of parking in the plaza“
“We booked a cooking class through Classpop and had such a great time learning to cook! The place had a parking lot so parking wasn’t a problem. We loved that after the cooking class, we were giving enough time to enjoy our food and even had leftovers to bring home. 10/10 recommend! Thanks for making my partner’s birthday so memorable!“
“Higher-end, likely one of the best Korean BBQ places in Silicon Valley! Stylish decoration and ambiance are appropriate for the cuisine and culture. Good service with refills on side dishes. Beyond the barbecue, a-la-carte items are good also with no skipping on the ingredients!“
“Though BBQ items were served a bit cold, they were quite good. The well-cooked Tri-Tip was so tender as if they'd melt in my mouth. They know how to do BBQ but the food needs to be served warmer. I also liked the corn bread. Small eatery. Simple setting. Self-service. Cheap utensils. For the price they charge and the sake of cutting meats, they should have invested better cutleries. They also run food truck around the area.“
“By far the best tasting bbq in the Bay Area. Not only is the food great but the staff are ridiculously friendly. Gregory is the nicest guy. When we showed up towards the end of the day he went out of our way to accommodate our order even though they had run out of some of the popular meats and sides.“
“Casual hawaiian eatery located in the Maplewood Plaza. Bright space with wooden chairs and tables inside, and a few tables outside too. Employee took my order at the front counter (standard service), though there's a self-order kiosk as well. Order was ready in 5-10 minutes, no other customers at the time. Got the mini loco moco, and the meat, gravy, mac salad, everything was flavorful and satisfying... the mini size was sufficient for a filling meal. Based on taste, I'd say this would be one of my top 2 hawaiian spots in the south bay.“
“A taste of New Orleans in Los Gatos. As close as you can get to the bayou without flying. All dishes are on point.Great Fried Chicken Po Boy sandwich with Cajun fries. Had the lunch combo which also came with a beer. Hush puppies were good but not necessary. Rich mans beans and rice is quite good.Parking: Parking behind the restaurant“
“The braised ribs are delicious, but expensive. The msg flavor of the soup was too strong. It's difficult to order by phone. The staff did not even accept Junhwawa. Do you feel like business is so good that you don’t need to receive it?“
“amazing bbq joint. closes at 4 so be sure and get there early. excellent ribs, brisket, pulled pork and sides are off the hook. recommend the beans, potato salad, and macaroni and cheese. excellent corn bread. was not a fan of the coleslaw. really good selection of craft beers, great notion, bare bottle, and others on tap.“
“The dinuguan was a little sour but that is expected, sinigang as well. More veggies for the sinigang would have been nice. Service was fine. Names of the food by the container would have been helpful as to not offend the cashier when you ask for that "crispy shrimp thing on top of something fried."“
“I've been a regular at Su's for about 30 years. Still one of my favorites I've always given it 5 stars, but alas, all things must change. Still great food. But price has gotten too high. And shrimp/lamb and fried rice are no longer offered. Atmosphere is less fun, with lots of cheesy signs with price and serving limitation and all-you-can-eat warnings. To make matters worse, I came with a group of 8. They tacked in an 18% service charge! If you've ever been to Su's you know there is, basically, no service. The only thing they do is put water glasses on the table. This is the downfall of one of the great, classic eateries. Sad.“
“The food is great, the problem could be that your food may sit there on the window from the kitchen waiting for it to be given to you for a while, and it does get cold… so you may need to monitor once it is there to try and get it picked up…Other than that, is a nice place…“
“Parking: Probably at least 30 slots in close proximity. The place is in a strip mall so there are plenty more if you are willing to park and walk about 50 yards moreKid-friendliness: Definitely family friendly, but can require a wait if you are coming at peak times.“
“All my Korean dreams come true and just down the street from me! Highly recommend you check them out and support their small business. We came here on a whim and I'm so glad we did. I've been craving Korean food and I'm so happy this place is so close to me. They've only been open for 6 months. Plenty of parking in the lot or on the street. The lady who took our order and served us is so cute and sweet. She doesn't speak English too well, but she was working hard and she was the only one front of the house! She takes care of all the patrons, the Doordash orders, the to go orders, refill waters, check you out, etc. We ordered the spicy braised short ribs, spicy beef stew, and the veggie pancake. Both were not spicy but tasted amazing! My husband said the stew is his fave soup of all time! The beef is shredded and it comes with glass noodles. I normally don't like seafood pancakes, but the veggie one here was fried to perfection. It was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The braised short ribs had great flavor. I do wish the meat was more tender, but it's still a solid dish. They don't skimp on the ban chan and they were all good. They'll give you refills if you ask too. This place isn't cheap for being on the East Side, but I think prices are on par with other Korean restaurants. We're happy to be back because the food was fire and staff were so friendly.“
“A colleague and I went to lunch at a restaurant in a business district with ample parking.Debbie, our server, provided excellent service. We ordered pizza, chicken strips with fries, and a steak sandwich. The pizza had a delicious flavor and fresh ingredients. The chicken strips were juicy and flavorful. The steak sandwich could have used more seasoning, but it was still enjoyable overall. The restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere, with multiple televisions for watching sports, a pool table, and a dartboards.“
“This is an all-you-can-eat restaurant where you have a hot-pot and Korean BBQ on the same table. It is possible to add your party to the waitlist using the Yelp app or at the restaurant. You will get a fair accurate estimate of your wait time. Each person can order a soup base. The menu is extensive with excellent selections of meat, seafood, vegetables, sides and dim-sum. There is a 90 minute time limit. Service is attentive and quick.“
“Good food, AMAZING rice. The service was great and quick, the guy who took my order was very kind and welcoming. The lady who served our food was also very kind! Once receiving my food I grabbed some utensils from the side and will say the food is great is you're looking for Caribbean food, the chicken is seasoned well and the salsa they give is good. Definitely recommend the mango drink they have, probably my favorite part of the meal!“
“The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make it the perfect spot to enjoy a hearty meal with friends or family. Whether you're digging into a plate of ribs, brisket, or pulled pork, Smoking Pig BBQ promises a mouthwatering experience that'll leave you coming back for more.“
“I ate the pork set (jeongjeongsal + pork belly + seasoned pork neck)! It said it was for 2-3 people, but it was enough to feed 4 people. I was impressed because it felt like I ate it in Korea... and the price isn't that expensive.ㅡIt was so delicious that I went again the next day, and this time they also grilled kimchi next to the pork belly... It was really good.“
“Oh lawd so grateful this place exists! Every time I come into San Jose I look forward to stopping here. The food is always bomb, the place is always clean and the staff is always cool. When I eat this food its hard to sit still, I want to dance n shout lol.. Im literally eating outside on my car so I don't disturb the other patrons with my bouncing around lol.Thank you all!! Can you guys sell the jerk sauce by the gallon please? And I'd like subscription to the plantains.“
“As a Kansas City native, I’m picky about bbq and am always looking for something that tastes like home. We had ribs, burnt ends, and brisket. The brisket is 5 star! Tender and smoky, just as it should be. The burnt ends were tasty. The ribs were tender and flavorful. The mac n cheese was delicious, but I like a traditional custard-like homestyle. There was no pouch of cheese sauce here! The potato salad wasn’t for us, and the beans were not KC style, but good. The outdoor patio was initially what got us here. It’s noisy, but what would you expect? We enjoyed it and will definitely be back.“
“I had to give this place a try and support a Filipino business. It's a casual quick service restaurant. They have a few tables if you'd like to dine in. I ordered a Tocilog TO-GO. Good portion, good for 1-2 people. You can also add a protein for an extra cost. Tocilog is Tocino ( sweet Filipino style bacon) with a garlic rice and fried egg. It was delicious! I didn't get to take photos because I was really hungry but will definitely come back. I heard the Sisig is on point. That's what I'll get next time.“
“I came here with my girlfriend for soondubu and dolsot bibimbap. It was pretty good, and there's a generous variety of side dishes. However, they give you plain white rice with your soondubu rather than the preferred purple rice. Also, they won't voluntarily refill your side dishes.“
“Happened upon the restaurant when we were on the hunt for good Korean BBQ. The atmosphere is understated, but food and service was amazing. Truly! The beef was so tender and the banchan was A+. There were 3 very kind employees (owners?) who were so attentive and made it a very enjoyable experience.“
“First time stopping in today, and as a former Chef and Pitmaster in both Texas and California I've never found anything remotely close to the AUTHENTIC bbq experience on this side of the Rockies. From the hospitality of the staff, expertise of the Pitmaster, and downright homey feeling this is a place you can't pass up.“
“I have been here several times. It is Korean BBQ and regular traditional food. I like the steamed eggs, fried rice and the rice cake.Nice side dishes ,and delicious beef smll intestine .If you are finding a place to gather with your friend or family,it is a good place!Btw, Korean aunties were really nice, they always came to check us if we needed something and helped us grill the meat:)“
“Pretty tasty but only worth it if you have the money to spare! Glad I tried it, but I don't think I'd go there if I had to spend my own money. Many thanks to Jon's parents! Definitely enjoyed the sides too, make sure to eat up all the cool pickled dishes they give you.“
“Seafood Tofu is pretty good. I always get spicy for my soup and they make it spicy enough for the kick and not overpowering. The broth had the right taste of the cooked seafood of shrimp and clams. They add on egg that pretty much cook though so breaking the yolk wasn't possible. Maybe I'll ask them to stir it next time or leave it out. It comes with purple rice and add an order of spicy cucumber cause I didn't see Kim Chi on machine to order. I'd definitely be coming back.“
“A fun update to this story: three years later, we got in touch with Art to see if he would be willing to use the remainder of our wedding catering deposit to cater BBQ for our baby shower. Not only did he honor the tab (after three years!) but he didn't charge us for the amount beyond that. And the pulled pork and grilled mushrooms were exactly as good as we remembered them! The guests who attended both the wedding and the shower agreed! Thank you, TAOB!!!“
“It's a food truck restaurant. But they have covered seating which they share with another pop up Mexican restaurant.A sign in the sidewalk directs you inside a driveway. It's the covered restaurant right there in the left. You can't tell because the sign is for the restaurant they share the eating space with.Menu is very limited but it's well prepare and good.Lumpia is fresh; he rolls and then deep fries them right there. The chicken with garlic rice is tasty. The garlic rice is actually white rice topped with toasted garlic. Try the pork and tocino skewers.“
“great food!! door was broken, the waitress is nice, my beef dish was supposed to come with rice cake, but chef forgot it, that was a bummer, they did bring me some boiled rice cake later to put in the pot, but I had to mix it and it didn't have much flavor because the rice cake was not cooked with the food .“
“My wife and I have gone to this hidden gem restaurant several times. I took two friends for lunch today and both thought that the food was delicious. The BBQ is award winning! The portions are big as well. We got to meet Ryan the co-owner and pit master today who was very welcoming. I've posted pictures of the 3 St. Louis style ribs, brisket sandwich and caleb's cracklins. The BBQ plate orders come with choice of two sides and a roll. The sandwich comes with choice of one side.“
“High quality BBQ with an impressive Bourbon selection. I enjoyed the poerk belly appetizer, house salad, brisket, ribs, and chicken. The chicken is really outstanding because it's not dry like many BBQ joints. The cornbread muffin with maple butter is fantastic.“
“3.5 STARS Date: Saturday, April 6th, 2024 Time: 3pm Meal: Birthday Late Lunch / Early Dinner Part of: 6 Reservation Made: via Yelp about 1.5 weeks earlier Dinner BBQ & Hot Pot ($37.99) x6 *Japanese Miso *Healthy Herb x2 *Thai Pot: Vegan Spicy x3 *Pork Belly x2 *Ribeye x4 *Spicy Pork Belly *Pork Belly x2 *Pork Jowl x2 *Garlic Shrimp x2 *Galbi Marinated Short Rib x6 *Seapot Angus Beef x2 *Beef Tongue *Steam Rice x3 *J Lohr Cabernet 2019: 375ml ($23) *Sapporo Pitcher ($25) *Original Bottle Soju ($13) *Peach Bottle Soju ($13) *18% Tip ($54.35) For a friend's bday, we decided to do a late lunch at Seapot. I believe on weekends they are open all day and the dinner price applies all day as well. Tip was automatically added to the bill, but I think that was because we were a party of 6? I do adore Seapot for their conveyor belt offerings. I tend to like variety. And I gravitate towards a lot of veggies and seafood. So it's nice they are readily avail in small portions. I don't feel like I have to eat a portion of veggies for the whole table if no one else wants some. Also, super convenient since we don't have to wait for the server to bring those items out. Meat wise (and some seafood), you have to order thru the server. And there's a time limit of 90 mins. Unfortunately this took a while, so we were only able to order one round before the server came back for last call. For bigger parties, they should give two hours as that's not enough time to cook and eat everything. (We still had uncooked plates when they came back for last call.) There's only one grill at a table for 6. It's definitely not enough time to get your korean bbq on. For an AYCE place, this was one of the first times I didn't really leave full. Drinks wise, we had a red wine drinker, so we tried to order a bottle of red wine. The first bottle, they were out, so I asked about two other bottles. They were out of those too. He could only offer a bottle we didn't want, so we ended up with a half bottle of something we originally asked about. Corkage here is $25, while the average bottle was around $40-$50, so it didn't seem worth it to cork anything. I think if we had a smaller party, it would have been fine. But for a larger party, I don't think it's worth coming here. The time limit isn't really enough to take advantage of the AYCE.“
“I had the beef brisket sandwich, which was tasty, hot, fresh and it included tater tots so it was a good meal. Famous Dave's is an interesting place My first experience here was not memorable second experience was okay not bad, not good just meh, I don't think I would go back only because you need to be a barbecue fan to eat here. In general it's expensive, and it's narrowly focused for barbecued food which if you're a fan then it's a good place to go. The brisket was tasty, the bun had butter drizzled on top which was a nice effect, it was a good sandwich.Vegetarian options: Definitely not vegetarian friendly...Parking: Lots of open free parking, big parking lot.“
“Pros: Nice and friendly staff, yummy food, well cooked brisket, yummy corn, spacious and different seating options. They have veggie and chicken options too.Cons: meal size is not big, plastic utensils are negative points. Limited non-pork options“
“Niki-niku, cook meat and shrimp at each table. Fresh and tasty. A few choices already cooked. Some salad and several veggie items. Large choice, various cuts of meat from which to choose. Small plates so fun to taste various dishes. The chicken wings are crisp and delicious. Cold air helps to mediate the heat of the grill. Glad I had a jacket. Service helpful and there when you need them.“
“I came here with a group of 7 people with a reservation. We didn't have to wait for the table at all, and the service was excellent. A couple dishes we ordered didn't show up, but it was all you can eat and we ordered a lot, so it's understandable. It came out to $70 per person (inc. $80 tip) with the all you can eat BBQ, hot pot, some premium meat, and 2 carafes of soju.“
“This is great bbq. Cooked to perfection. People are friendly, helpful and love the food they make and serve. Inside seating is comfortable, but basic... Don't expect 5 star, but perfect for a bbq place. Everytime I go, I ask myself why don't I come back more often.“
“Usually like this place a lot, this visit ,food was bland. Must be new cooks. Friendly staff, fair prices. Parkinglot over crowded.Parking: Not a lot of parking upfront. You can park in the back of the buildings. Think cars from other businesses park there from around the area“
“Delicious food! The best Karen restaurant I highly recommend! I like their side dishes, and they are very tasty! And you can ask for more without additional fees. The waitress kept forgetting our requests for more side dishes, but overall the services are good here. I ordered Bibimbap but it’s cold! You need to order the one with the stone bowl if you prefer hot foods.“
“Came here on a Friday night and the wait wasn't too long for 3. I came specifically because I was craving Korean tofu soup and I got theirs with chicken at the second highest spice level. All of our soups came out looking like they had boiled over and exploded which was a little odd. My friend who got the same thing as me found her soup to be way too hot to eat for the majority of the dinner though mine seemed okay. My other friend got a soybean paste soup which ended up being a seafood soup that had so many jalapeños in the broth that it was too spicy for her to eat which we were all surprised about because there was no spice warning or spice level adjustment. I enjoyed my soup but thought it was overpriced for what you get and did not find it to be at the spice level I asked for. Overall I enjoyed it though my friends did not. I'm not sure if I would return because of the price point.“
“Had this place to myself at 3:30pm (late lunch). Asked for a recommendation and they suggested the spicy pork lunch special. Boom! Perfect choice. I never eat all of the rice; however, this was so scrumptious that I couldn't stop grabbing flavor! I'll be back for certain!“
“We went on Thursday night for the Blues Jam, and it was great. The place was packed, making it a little tricky to find a spot to sit. However, one of the many friendly Patrons allowed us to share his table. The menu has several barbecue options and also Pho, interesting combinTionI ordered the barbecued chicken and two sides. It was hot with a nice flavor and the price was good. The salad wasn't special, with crisp romaine and diced tomatoes. It was nice and fresh, but just those two ingredients. We are going back again, but a little earlier this time“
