“My wife and I finally visited this place, and we actually don’t live that far away. It is a definite keeper. We both had combo dinners and the tastes are delicate and delicious for both teriyaki and tempura. Did not try the sushi. Very friendly service. Overall excellent place for our tastes.“

“A little late posting this since my visit was a while ago, but I still remember how much I enjoyed this place
I honestly wasn’t expecting the menu to be that big. It really felt like a proper Japanese izakaya where you can order a little bit of everything, share dishes and enjoy a few drinks without feeling rushed
We tried several things, including the grilled squid and a baked seafood dish, and both were really good. The squid was tender and flavorful, and the baked dish was rich, cheesy and perfect for sharing. There were so many other things on the menu that I wanted to try, it was honestly hard to choose lol
We also had a few drinks, which made the whole experience even better. The food, drinks and casual atmosphere all worked really well together
It didn’t feel overly trendy or too polished, just comfortable and very local. Definitely the kind of place I’d come back to with friends, order a bunch of dishes and stay for a while
Really good food, lots of variety and a fun izakaya vibe“

“We came for the vegan sushi, and it was really good! There’s usually no wait, and they have plenty of seating. The atmosphere is very chill, the staff is kind, and parking is easy. Definitely a great spot if you’re craving vegan sushi!“

“I've known Pacific Catch for as long as I can remember, so we were happy when they opened in the newly renovated Sunnyvale downtown area.
We've been here a couple of times and both visits were consistent with what we expected. Good ambience, good service, and good food. The ingredients tasted fresh and the service was prompt. If you are looking for more authentic flavors and less Americanized food, there are plenty of other solid options, but it's convenient to have Mexican, Asian, and other flavors under one roof.
On our recent visit, we tried the Firecracker Salmon sushi, the Mexican bowl with shrimp, and a Modelo Negra to go with it. The flavors were mild, but the meal was enjoyable overall. We ended with a nice Hawaiian Sundae to complete the meal and it was quite good. Shout out to Marvin for the good service.
Definitely recommend if you are in the area and looking for a family friendly spot that can satisfy different tastes and preferences.“

“Menu looks a bit worn out but the food is great. Oddly, maybe one of the best California rolls I've had. It's surprising because it's a basic roll but they do something to make it fresh.
We got here and it was empty but filled up fast with a lot of take out. Felt like a good value.“

“Nice place to eat, I only give the food 4 stars because the little differences in their rolls compares to others I've had with the same name just wasn't really for me. I ate them and enjoyed them as best I could and had no issues with them just not the best I've tried of rolls with that name.“

“Came here for a quick dinner from SF, and I want to appreciate how big each piece of sushi is compared to how it is in my city. They are very big/generous compared to sushi places in SF which are very thin and more rice than sashimi. I would come here again if I was in the area craving sushi. However the teriyaki could be a bit tastier.“

“The sushi here is seriously good - fresh ingredients, creative rolls you won’t find anywhere else. The Fuji Roll? Absolutely delicious. Prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly, even if the vibe inside feels a bit cramped and could use a deeper clean. It’s a small spot, so I’d recommend takeout or delivery over dining in. For the quality of food though, it’s worth it.“

“Daigo in Palo Alto continues to impress every time we visit. We decided to skip the omakase and went all in ordering off the menu, getting two of everything and even three of a few standout dishes. That turned out to be the move.
The abalone dish is easily one of the best things we’ve ever eaten. Perfectly prepared, rich, and layered with flavor. It’s the kind of dish you keep thinking about long after the meal ends.
What really stands out is the consistency. Both visits delivered the same high level of freshness, execution, and attention to detail across every plate. Nothing felt rushed or overlooked.
The sake flight was another highlight, thoughtfully curated and pairing effortlessly with the variety of dishes we ordered. It elevated the entire experience and gave us a chance to explore different profiles alongside the food.
If you’re debating omakase versus ordering yourself, don’t hesitate to explore the menu. There’s so much to experience, and Daigo delivers across the board. This spot has officially earned a place in our regular rotation.

“It made me feel like I was back in Japan for the duration of my meal.
The chefs were excellent, the seafood quality was extremely fresh, and they had items directly from Japan (such as uni from Hokkaido).
It was worth every penny, there was no downside except once you leave you’re still in California instead of Tokyo.“

“The sushi is so fresh it melts in your mouth. It’s so good. It’s a quaint almost hole in the wall type place but it’s clean and the people are friendly and attentive. It’s a definite must if you like sushi. Prices are reasonable and a tiny bit high on some dishes but it’s worth it. I will be going back again and I’m sure lots of times 😋“

“This sushi spot is down the street from my house and it's quickly becoming a favorite of mine. Granted I usually come in for lunch and order a bento box. I love the spicy chicken teriyaki, veggie tempura and California rolls. Their Chile. Matsu was good but I prefer the teriyaki. Their miso soup is tasty.
Restaurant is typical sushi restaurant size. They may accommodate larger parties with notice. The art on the wall is movies, action figures, and things of that nature
I haven't tried too much outside of that so I will have to order more when I go next time. I want to order specialty rolls. Will update the review after the fact.“

“10/10 experience!! If you are looking for amazing sushi in Mountain View, this is the spot! Joy Sushi is a true hidden gem. I ordered a takeout meal consisting of special rolls and a sashimi box, and the quality was outstanding. So yummy and fresh! On top of the great food, the service is excellent;they are so kind and thoughtful with their preparation.“

“Kenji Sushi delivers an amazing culinary experience. We ordered their spicy sushi and chicken karage, and were left amazed by its taste. The restaurant also remains open till midnight which is such a life-saver, and the items are not too pricey either!“

“I just keep forgetting they play the worst music. And at times that you wouldn't play hot pop, rap. Older crowd means NOT pop nor hip-hop. And to mention, waitress was telling us how the kitchen staff was now going to sleep because we were asking to change music. Wow, guilt trip because we, and others hated the music. Since when did kitchen staff over rule CUSTOMERS! Shame on you. Lost a local customer, and maybe others.
Sad....“

“I visited Sushi House twice during the BTS concert at Stanford Stadium. The staff was friendly, especially my server, though I unfortunately didn’t catch his name. He gave me great advice on what to order, and the portions were generous! I ate half of my order for lunch and took the other half home for dinner. I’ll definitely return to Sushi House if I visit the US again and am in the area. Thanks, Sushi House! 🙏🏼“

“The 🍣sushi was okay, but the takoyaki and miso soup were overly salty. To be honest, the takoyaki tasted like it was from frozen and was pretty bad. You won't see any piece of🐙 in takoyaki. It was just a breading. However, the service was excellent, which is why I’m leaving 4 stars.“

“Good legit Japanese restaurant. The chicken karaage was very tender and juicy. For some reason it was very spicy. The sukiyaki was ok. The beef was a little tough but tasted good. We also got a teriyaki salmon and assorted tempura. The salmon was a little over cooked. which I expected it to be better. All in all a great place for a good representation of Japanese cuisine.“

“Great sushi place! The fish was very fresh and every dish was well prepared. Good sized servings too. There was a bit of a wait on Friday night string 7pm but no more than 20 minutes as the service is quite and the tables turn over pretty quickly. Will definitely come back.“

“The food here has been consistent and good. It's our de-facto goto place for sushi. Is it the best in the bay area? Probably not. However, the combination of speed, quality of food, and convenience definitely puts this place at the top of our list. Even at the busiest we've seen food comes out decently fast and tasty enough to pass our standards.“

“I don’t think the chef was Japanese but I have to say this was some of the best Nigiri sushi I’ve ever had. Generous portions of extremely fresh fish on well-sized, perfectly cooked slabs of sushi rice. And beautifully presented. A bit pricey ($45) but well worth it. Can highly recommend.“

“It’s like walking into a neighbor’s home for dinner, quiet and cozy, and you naturally strike a conversation with people sitting next door. Food is nothing exceptional but tasted fresh. A bit pricy to my standards but I guess maybe that’s the norm nowadays in the Bay Area. 🤷“

“Loved the server we had, food was pretty good, i recommend the green dragon roll
We got the crazy atomic and liked the baked assorted fish in the middle but not the sushi roll it came with (we aren’t a fan of crabmeat)
I didn’t like the orange blossom roll, the salmon tasted different“
