“I think it's good to be able to eat a lunch box for this price considering the location.
They also serve brown rice tea for free. I had the lunch bento box with a choice of 2 sides, $17.50. You can choose sushi rolls or nigiri sushi on the side, but there's plenty of white rice, so I personally recommend choosing a side dish. Personally, I'm concerned about the quality of the white rice. There's nothing wrong with vinegared rice, but that white rice is a no-no in Japanese food. The female staff member was very kind and managed the whole thing by herself. I think there was one craftsman who seemed to be Japanese.“

“It was Ok. Thin slices of fish on th sushi. Not a big selection on th boats, but u can order off th menu. I ordered th eel don, which didn't hv too much teriyaki sauce (a good thing) n a good size piece of eel but not enough rice (for me, at least).
Vegetarian options: Sushi is vegetarian...... no?
Kid-friendliness: Kids love u th sushi on a boat“

“I love ❤️ to meet my friends here for private gatherings to plot steps fit really big and bold new ideas. My preference is for the 7:17 (give or take) omakase at the bar followed by a night meeting around a square or round table. Each person has two people to talk to at the bar (Me - Jeff- Elon - Mark - Lauren - Priscilla - Sergey- - Larry - Larry - plus 4 additional guests if others can attend - Camelia Me 12 Camelia Typically my wife returns home early by Lyft or Uber but I stay out later and sometimes overnight in Woodside at a suitable location.“

“I came here with a colleague for a meeting over lunch last week and was not disappointed. I was impressed by the peaceful atmosphere of the restaurant even when full of patrons. While the portions were on the more conservative side (at least for basic rolls), the sushi was very fresh and delicious. The QR code menu confused me (which was my own fault, not theirs) because I didn't realize that the code was shared for the whole table, not for each diner on their individual phone. So my colleague and I ended up deleting part of each other's orders. Our server was swift to correct our order, and was very gracious in doing so. The wait was very brief for our amended order to come out from the kitchen. I would recommend this restaurant for those who enjoy a quiet dining environment with low ambient lighting.“

“This is the best sushi restaurant in Palo Alto! We have been to a few of them on California Avenue, and the quality of the food and its affordability at Kanji is certainly the best among them all. We ordered the 15 pieces sashimi platter and the cut of the fish was so thick and satisfying. The sweet shrimps were also very worth it, it was so fresh and they even fry the heads for you. Will come back next time to try their breakfast!“

“Sushi Jin in Mountain View is an absolute gem! We recently visited for my wife's birthday, and we opted for the omakase tasting menu. From start to finish, every dish was crafted with such precision and care. The freshness and quality of the fish were outstanding, and each course was a delightful surprise. The balance of flavors and textures was impeccable, showcasing the chef's incredible skill. The ambiance of the restaurant made the evening feel intimate and special. The staff was warm and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed to make the night memorable. My wife was thrilled, and so was I. If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience, Sushi Jin is definitely the place to go. Highly recommend!“

“Great affordable sushi! For the price the sushi is good. Some of my favorites include: BB roll, MJ roll, and Warriors roll. Also I recently tried the Honey Walnut roll and it was good too! I love the walnuts on there.
The service is good. They are attentive in making sure you have everything you need. I don’t feel like we ever wait too long to order or to get the check.
Also I like how this place is the only Bay Area restaurant that I know of that opens past 9 PM
The inside is nice. The restaurant uses a lot of warm wood so it feels very inviting. And the restaurant itself feels new and clean. They have many tables for seating. I also like the appetizer plates they use. They’re very pretty.
Parking: There are a few parking garages in that area of Palo Alto. We usually park at the one nearby.

“I have been eating at Sushi House for almost 30 years and have almost always ordered their amazing Chinese Chicken salad (prepared the Japanese way) and shrimp tempura udon. It is my go-to place for authentic Japanese comfort food, and their Chinese Chicken salad is the best I’ve ever had. I hope they never change that dish!!! Also, Rueben the waiter, is awesome and has waited on my table for almost 20 years. I appreciate such consistency in staff who go above and beyond.“

“We had dinner here a week ago and had a lovely time. We arrived right when they were opening and managed to get a table. They have a few tables outside, the same amount inside, and a sushi counter bar. The staff were all very friendly and helpful during our meal. Both of us ordered the omakase and the fishes were all great. And for the price of $110/person it was perfect for a date night! They also include a sake pairing with the omakase for an additional charge. We went for a bottle of sale with our meal. I highly advise you to get a reservation because this place is very popular.“

“Cute, delicious, and A MUST TRY. Joy Sushi a cute Japanese joint nestled in Mountain View was an amazing spot to eat.
The service from Joy Sushi was exceptional with the servers bringing a familial vibe in the restaurant. One of the servers even helped me learn how to use my chopsticks. Overall great service. The ambiance was great as well, though there wasn’t LOADS of seating. The interior was very nice with lots of decorations and on the inside you could see a lot of the action happening which was cool.
The food itself was GREAT. I got the Unagi Donburi which was an eel dish. The dish came with a bomb unagi sauce that tasted a little like a zesty thicker teriyaki which complemented the fattiness of the eel amazingly. The dish was the perfect portion for me to finish in the restaraunt and be full. The dish also interestingly came with some orange savory fish roe that popped. The eel was SO tasty. It was a little fatty and very tender with no overfishy taste emanating. It was overall an amazing dish that came with lots of rice. The dessert was a little less appetizing. We got strawberry and mango mochi which was ok. It tasted like one of the Trader Joe’s mochi, but the presentation was beautiful and the price wasn’t exorbitant.
Overall Joy Sushi is a must try it provides plenty of good sushi and other entrees like my unagi donburi if sushi isn’t your thing. If you are ever in Mountain View make sure to come to Joy Sushi to enjoy the delicious food, familial service, great interior, and affordable dishes.
Vegetarian options: There are a decent amount of veggie sushi options listed separately on the menu!“

“Most restaurants located next to supermarkets tend to have good food. I give the food 9/10, it would have been a perfect score but the salad was old and still served. It was the brown old, and bitter salad that no one wants to eat. The dressing on the salad was so good gobbled it down.
Parking: Parking is crazy on weekends and during mealtimes“

“Fantastic evening at Robin. The omakase restaurant had a hip, night clubby feel to it as the interior was dark with dance club music, but the sushi was definitely worthwhile. Erin and Abby provided friendly and efficient service, which contributed to the overall positive experience. Free parking lot next door makes it easy to find a parking space.“

“Growing up in Saratoga, there weren’t many casual asian dining places nearby and Sushi Heaven has always been a staple restaurant for my family for weekend night out dinners.
Sushi Heaven is not traditional Japanese, and has a variety of rolls that are fun to choose from and also has great bento boxes.
They also reasonably price Toro and if you’re lucky, you get decent cuts.
They take reservations and are busy during dinner times so call ahead or there is a waiting list.

“This is my absolute favorite spot to get food in downtown Mountain View since it opened! The staff is unbelievably friendly and the service is incredible! I can’t recommend it enough!“

“When we think sushi, we come here and we are never disappointed. The fish is fresh and the rolls are proportioned well. As for the omakase platter, it really is ALL that and more!! Compared to other places that serve ‘chef choice’ sushi, this place wins the prize.
The staff is very friendly and checks on you often. The staff to customer ratio seems higher than other places - perhaps that’s why the service is quick and accurate.
We enjoy our dining experience every time and satisfy our sushi fix!“

“It's a cozy little sushi restaurant. Used to be our favorite place 20yrs ago when I work here. I will say the quality is nice but this is more like American chirashi than Japanese version. The taste is alittle diff. The fish is very fresh but somehow not sweet at all. The Hamachi kama is alittle of a letdown. It used to be grilled to perfection now its like deep fried. It's not as juicy and tender.“

“Disclamer: dining on a company dime :D
The food was as good as one would reasonably expect from a reputable sushi restaurant. Sushi came assorted on mini boats and that was neat. Appetizers were both creative and delicious and saved us from starving. Wait time between servings was pretty long for our big crowd.“

“At Happy Sushi, I found a tranquil space that embodies the essence of simple pleasures. I ordered the Avocado roll, a testament to the philosophy of savoring the essentials. The service was swift and courteous, reflecting a commitment to excellence without pretense.
For just $7, the roll was not only affordable but also a reminder that satisfaction does not require extravagance. In this establishment, one can appreciate the balance of quality and value. In a world that often overwhelms, Happy Sushi offers a serene experience that allows one to enjoy the moment. I recommend it to anyone seeking a straightforward yet fulfilling dining experience.“

“My family loved Ozuma, too, but Owada consistently serves some of the most flavorful sushi anywhere on the SF Peninsula. A little pricy, but absolutely worth it!! Owada’s Chirashi Combo bowl is one of the better dishes I’ve had, with lots of variety in bite-sized pieces.“

“Hands down the best sushi spot in Peninsula. Been coming here since 2018 and it’s still the same high quality sushi. Unlike other sushi spots, they have a ton of vegetarian options.
I just wish they would stay open till a little bit late. We always get there around closing time as it closes at 8 pm on weekdays, so we have to order everything all at once. :D“

“A random, last minute find on a Friday night with no wait and can accommodate a party of two with an infant in a carseat.
Quaint and no frills restaurant with omakase. Our omakase sashimi order was about 107 dollars, a bit pricey and presentation was not very impressive but every bite was so fresh! Their miso soup was quite delightful, better than most miso soup I’ve had.
Kid-friendliness: We brought our infant in a carseat in, placed the carseat on a chair and tucked it between the wall and the table. I see other families with small kids dining comfortably there too.“

“A sushiritto is a burrito with a sushi filling. A wonderful concept since I often feel like the traditional sushi serving leaves me a tad bit hungry at the end. But wow, this place checked all the boxes. Fresh, delicious and large portions. We got the Salmon Samba and Sumo crunch. The sumo crunch had a crispy layer with fried shrimp and crab and the sauces were the right level. We didn’t really need extra sauce on the side although they do give you hot sauce and soya sauce. It was really delicious. The salmon samba was teriyaki salmon with some veggies and greens. It was a bit on the healthier side but decent tasting. Keen to try the other options. We found a staple pin in one of the rolls while eating it. That’s dangerous. Thus deducted one star.“

“I come to this place often it's really good sushi. Service can be a hit or miss, I had a strange interaction upon arriving, for some reason the gentleman who showed me to my table asked me if i was drunk? This question seemed very strange im not sure why he would ask a guest this type of question unless the guest seemed impaired. ( i dont even drink )Other than that the sushi is delicious.“

“Sushi Roku offers a chic and sophisticated dining atmosphere that blends modern elegance with traditional Japanese aesthetics. Located in the Stanford Shopping Center, the restaurant features stylish decor with sleek wooden accents, contemporary furnishings, and soft lighting that creates an upscale yet inviting environment. The outdoor seating area is especially charming, providing a serene setting for an enjoyable dining experience. The ambiance is perfect for both intimate dinners and larger gatherings.
Food:
The food at Sushi Roku is exceptional, showcasing a blend of traditional Japanese flavors with innovative twists. The menu offers a wide variety of sushi, sashimi, and creative rolls, all made with the freshest ingredients. The yellowtail sashimi with jalapeño is a standout, offering a perfect balance of flavors and textures. The signature rolls, such as the Katana and the Baked Crab Hand Roll, are beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The robata grill items are cooked to perfection and add a delightful dimension to the menu. Additionally, the omakase experience is highly recommended for those looking to indulge in a curated selection of the chef's best offerings.
We ordered the Gensai Roll, Tuna Japaeno Roll (Can't go wrong at all with this) , Tokubetsu Roll, Full Hanabi (Tuna), Fluke Kumquat (FTW), Hamachi Serrano (can't get over that) and Yellowtail Diced Chillies. There was a bit of a delay in the first round getting to our table though after that the subsequent orders were stacked right one after the other. Loved every bit of all of these and Fluke Kumquat somehow turned out to be my favorite.
Service:
The service at Sushi Roku is generally excellent, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who are dedicated to providing a memorable dining experience. The servers are well-versed in the menu and are happy to offer recommendations and accommodate special requests. While the service is usually prompt and efficient, there can be occasional delays during peak times. Nonetheless, the professionalism and friendliness of the staff make up for any minor inconveniences. Josh gave us a phenomenal welcome while taking us to our seat. Emily started with taking our orders and helped us with the options and our never ending questions around the menu. Finally, Terrence was kind enough (he stopped on his way out , and it got late) and helped us with a picture at the end and all this while he was a fantastic manager running the show to near perfection. Thank you folks!!!
Value:
While Sushi Roku is on the pricier side, the quality of the food, the elegant ambiance, and the level of service make it worth the expense. The portions are generous, and the attention to detail in each dish justifies the higher price point. It's an ideal spot for special occasions, date nights, or when you're in the mood to splurge on an exceptional dining experience.
Sushi Roku in Palo Alto's Stanford Mall is a premier destination for sushi lovers and anyone seeking a refined dining experience.
