“I absolutely love State of Mind. I don't know anyone that doesn't. The quality of their pizzas alone will impress you. This is the kind of place that will convert a "crust hater" into a "crust lover". I recommend the Heat and Sweet or their limited quantity Grandma's Pie. Also, try their "SOM dusted French fries, they're killer! Great selection of craft beers on tap. Relaxed, family friendly atmosphere with a mini arcade area for kids.“

“The cutest little dessert shop in Los Altos. Has the best cake and very yummy drinks. There is no longer any indoor seating but plenty of outdoor seating with shades. My favorite is the strawberry and cream cake and it is by far the best one I've ever had. Service is quick and just a grab and go kind of place where you pick up your cake and find a place to sit down. Since the seating is outdoors on a Main Street there is the ambiance of cars and people walking by.“

“For Valentine's Day we dined at Urfa Bistro and as always, we were thoroughly impressed. The meal started with warm, soft bread accompanied by a delicious olive infused dipping oil bursting with flavor. For the main course, we had the Rib Eye dish, perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection, accompanied by garden vegetables, mashed potatoes and Bearnaise sauce. Each bite was a delicious delight. The friendly staff, attentive service, cozy ambiance and rose for every female guest added to the overall experience, making it a memorable dining outing. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone craving authentic and satisfying Mediterranean cuisine. It's a fabulous restaurant.“

“I’ve been gluten free for 15 years, and it has been rough. But I have made the most of it by searching for gluten free treats everywhere I go. I’ve had gluten free pastries in dozens of cities including London, Florence, Madrid, Sacramento, Lahaina, and Austin. Other than the now shuttered Helmut Newcake in Paris, Sweet Diplomacy is my favorite of all time (and only 20 minutes away!). If you have tried baking gluten free you know pastry (choux, puff, flakey) is really hard to do. This place gets pastry and cakes as close to wheat flour as it gets. I enjoy all of the offerings but I’m most impressed by the pastry. The cream puffs OMG. And today I tried the tiramisu for the first time (it knocked my socks off). The coffee is excellent, and I love their cupcake varieties and cookies but my stomach is only so big.I personally do not reach for the vegan offerings but this is because I don’t need to (give me butter!!). If you have restrictions they have nut free and vegan options.I’m super impressed by this, especially knowing the difficulty of GF baking.Dietary restrictions: 100% Gluten free. Vegan options. Nut free options.“

“Near a curve on a four line road is an eclectic older Mexican restaurant with artistic merit, interesting landscaping outdoor dining and several different kinds of tables and chairs indoors, including a bar.The menu has several options many of which I had not seen in Mexican food places before. I have tried their tamales, chili relleno, black beans, pinto beans, rice, grilled chicken, quesadilla, pico, guacamole, and the provided chips and salsa. All of the flavors are excellent. The green sauce and masa of the tamale, and the firm aged relleno cheese filling were outstanding.Indoors is Mexican music, while outdoors there is traffic noise. The tortilla chips are the thin triangle bagged kind. The restroom has an old sink and fixtures. But the custom artwork, high ceilings with paper fiesta decor and painted furniture are classic south of the border. The seats are all flat wood, no cushions. No sauce bar or extra hot sauce present. Will need another visit to try the mole.Vegetarian options: Enchiladas are great.“

“It was my first time visiting this place with my friends and family for dinner. They have a few options to choose from to eat, both veg and non veg options - Salads, pizzas, pastas, ramen bowl, ice cream and bakery options. Many of them even came here with their families and toddlers. The ambience was great, there was lively music playing indoors and a small group of people performing a live singing outside as well. “Date NightASA Restaurant has two locations in the Bay Area and their Los Gatos location earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand recognitionThis was my first dining experience at their more north location in downtown Los AltosWith high ceilings and heart themed adorned menus, this was a perfect spot for a Valentine’s week dining experienceThe menu here is slightly different from the Los Gatos location and I’ve heard that the two locations may not be as closely affiliated when they first openedI loved the appetizers and particular loved the anchovy bread with two different anchovy types topped on crisp, warm bread. The Dungeness crab appetizer was also excellentFor entrees, I opted for ASA’s signature exotic mushroom pasta that is on both the Los Gatos and Los Altos menuAs a fungi ? fan, I absolutely love this dish and it’s one of the best pasta dishes in the South Bay and PeninsulaThe only miss was their special of the day of striped bass over risotto. The purple yam purée was sour and the risotto dry with zero moisture or liquid and more like a cooked rice dish than a risottoASA is a fantastic destination for the Bay Area and while the prices are elevated, they reflect elevated cuisine (and high ceilings)? Smoked and Stoned $16 / Anchovy Bread $16 / Dungeness Crab Toast $36 / Special Striped Bass over Risotto / ASA’s Exotic Mushroom Pasta $34?ASA Restaurant (Los Altos, CA)Reservations are recommended on Opentable and dining is indoor only. “A Hidden Gem in Los Altos when you need that broth and are not in San Jose !I stumbled upon this delightful mom and pop pho restaurant during a weekend work trip to Los Altos, and it turned out to be a real gem! As someone who appreciates genuine hospitality and authentic ingredients, I was thoroughly impressed by the warm welcome and the evident care put into every dish. The moment I stepped in, I was greeted with a friendly smile that instantly made me feel at home. The aroma of simmering bone broth filled the air, hinting at the comforting meal that awaited me. I opted for their classic pho, and it exceeded all expectations. The broth was rich and flavorful, a testament to the honest ingredients used in its preparation. Each spoonful was a comforting embrace, perfect for nursing my morning fogginess from the night before. What truly sets this place apart is its dedication to customer service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. Their genuine warmth and attentiveness added an extra layer of warmth to an already delightful meal.Adding to the charm of this place is its cool cabin theme, adorned with wooden bears that give it a unique and cozy atmosphere. I love it. If you find yourself in Los Altos craving a taste of authentic Vietnamese cuisine made with love and care, this is the place to be.“
