“I’ve been gluten free for 15 years, and it has been rough. But I have made the most of it by searching for gluten free treats everywhere I go. I’ve had gluten free pastries in dozens of cities including London, Florence, Madrid, Sacramento, Lahaina, and Austin. Other than the now shuttered Helmut Newcake in Paris, Sweet Diplomacy is my favorite of all time (and only 20 minutes away!). If you have tried baking gluten free you know pastry (choux, puff, flakey) is really hard to do. This place gets pastry and cakes as close to wheat flour as it gets. I enjoy all of the offerings but I’m most impressed by the pastry. The cream puffs OMG. And today I tried the tiramisu for the first time (it knocked my socks off). The coffee is excellent, and I love their cupcake varieties and cookies but my stomach is only so big.I personally do not reach for the vegan offerings but this is because I don’t need to (give me butter!!). If you have restrictions they have nut free and vegan options.I’m super impressed by this, especially knowing the difficulty of GF baking.Dietary restrictions: 100% Gluten free. Vegan options. Nut free options.“
“FANTASTIC, solid baked goods.Portions/sizes of every baked item are generous & fillings are hearty - even the vegan ones too!Got the chicken, pork + shrimp, & mushroom + tofu mandos - which are like if a pizza had a baby with a baozi or dumpling (hearty dumpling/Bao meat or veggie filling wrapped & baked in pizza like dough), Nutella challah, cinnamon raisin swirls, chocolate chip + nut + apricot cookies, & trying out the peanut butter raisin cookie.I should also help clarify: the tofu+ mushroom mando also has kale!! Or maybe it’s swisschard - but either way, this is like a trifecta for me coz it conveniently bundles 3 food groups (protein, carb, + veggie) in a nice hand-held lunch portion for me.Plus everything here tastes SO good! But a couple of tips- they have a location in Menlo Park near the train station as a pop-up stand that opens & closes earlier than this brick & mortar site but usually seems to have more items. However, I think I personally prefer this site more coz:1) here u can get ur baked goods toasted (tastes sooo good heated up vs room temp in my opinion)2) parking is free here in the parking lot vs free parking in Menlo Park seems more limited3) actually this is the most important one for me since I tend to have a more sensitive stomach - this Los Altos Little Sky Branch takes food storage conditions seriously & properly, which I’m very grateful for. They follow the local food codes carefully & store their surplus mandos in the fridge/cooler & rotate out their mandos on display periodically. I confess I was a bit disheartened when I went to the Menlo Park location today & learned + saw all dozens of the mandos (including the shrimp + pork ones) were sitting outside from Sunday opening time/8 am - 12:50 pm, which I found odd since the 1st time I went to the Menlo Park location, they also regularly rotated out display Mondos & kept the rest in a cooler. Needless to say, since I love Little Sky Bakery’s stuff enough to buy in bulk & freeze (I discovered just about everything can be stored in the freezer for a long shelf life) - I didn’t feel it would be safe to buy the Menlo Park location’s meat-filled baked goods or at least the ones w/ seafood left out for that long to eat or freeze a bulk down to eat later … so I drove the extra miles to their Los Altos location (which had less mandos available) & bought as many mondos left as I could since I felt more reassured knowing they followed strict food storage temperature conditions & codes. The Los Altos location associates there are also super lovely & kind - knowing of my sensitive gut condition, they know my preferences & will usually pull the chilled mandos for me over the room temp ones whenever possible.“
“What a wonderful place for breakfast or lunch ? We was very happy visited this place. Everything was delicious, but this place are very busy all time and staff very busy all time too. It’s ok, because everyone was friendly and nice. Very nice outdoor space and next time we will have breakfast there?“
“Umm excuse me?!?- cheddar herb monkey bread?!? SAY NO MORE! I'll take 2 please! It was delicious, could have used a little more herb or garlic there was a lot of parsley. We ate it cold and it tasted just fine. I'm sure would have been better warm, but again no biggie for me. Was out on a yarn crawl and stopped in here while my mom was yarn shopping to have her then come join me! It was later in the day, and would have loved to catch some of the other pastries but this was a great midday snack! I also tried the almond escargot which was delicious. It's better than an almond croissant and don't be deterred by the honey, it isn't overly sweet! Would 100% stop in here again. The staff was super nice and the place clean. No where to sit and eat but there are benches outside. I was a little deterred on the quiches because they had them in the fridge with a posted sign about no warming capabilities... they however did look substantial and good, maybe next time if I'm going straight home.“
“Not quite the same coffee last couple of times so going to pull down a star. The cappuccino was over heated and had little foam - more like a Starbucks tbh. From a year ago:Been going to this place for 5 years now and it's still one of the best cafes in this area. Great location, good ambience and lots of food options make this a go to cafe. There is less parking up front but a lot more at the rear plus there is an entrance to the cafe from the rear as well.“
“I would tell you how great the food and service was, and how much we enjoyed the evening, but I don't want to make reservations harder to get as we are returning! Not only great meat and seafood, but wonderful vegetarian dishes. And desserts were over the top!“
“We went to Sundance to celebrate my husband's birthday, and this OG place did not disappoint. The vibe was lovely. The service and timing from our waitress, Ashley G., were outstanding. Complimentary freshly baked bread. Free mud pie (ice cream cake) dessert for the birthday boy. Both of our steaks were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The veggies were still crisp, and the garlic mashed potatoes were to die for. Their Ceasar salad was perfect with crisp romaine, perfect dressing and cheese ratio, anchovies, and crunchy (not hard) croutons. Lastly, their drinks were so good we had to get another round. This place is a solid choice for a nice night out. PS: Don't forget to grab some Andes chocolate on your way out.“
“Their sourdough bread is simply amazing! I'm eating it as I'm typing this review right now. I visited the bakery based on the recommendation of a friend for their delicious pistachio cookies but when I was in the store this morning, I end up getting the dessert cups, Napoleon cake, and sourdough bread. The bread is delicious and perfectly baked. Will definitely be back.“
“We had beef-lamb doner plate and lahmacun. The taste of doner was amazing. It has the perfect meat/fat ratio. We hesitated to eat lahmacun in the bay area. But this place is an excellent choice to eat lahmacun. They also serve homemade yogurt drink which is really good. But doner was the best. The staff was kind and friendly.“
“I visited this amazing biscotti place. Their biscottis and cannolis were awesome and really good!! The owner was super kind and friendly. I think he is proud of his art. They became one of my favourite bakeries ☺️ I am lucky to have this nice place:) The best biscottis and cannolis I’ve ever tried!!!!“
“More than a bakery it looks like a boutique. With prices to match. Unfortunately while the cakes look great the quality was not there. Got an almond croissant and a chocolate croissant. Both were dry. Service was not on par either 3 minutes until someone asked what I was looking for and they were not “
“Lipsmackingly yummy, down to earth and minimal fuss executed perfectly! This was a vegetarian heaven in a somewhat meat-heavy area for restaurant options at superbly reasonable fare. The entire dish and all aspects screamed unique and exciting flavors which worked together really well and was a plentiful portion which left me with zero complaints. The falafel was also grilled perfectly, crispy yet light and fluffy left me drooling for more, the salad and grilled veggies were seasoned with some awesome spiced, all topped with crunchy and peppery baked pita chips.I can't wait to return and cannot recommend the Veggie Shawarma with Grilled Veggies and Grilled Falafel enough!“
“We ordered a few different baked goods and some coffee. The hazelnut chocolate croissant and mango pastry were really good. We also got a raspberry fruit tart and chocolate chip cookie, they weren’t as good as the other two. For drinks we got an iced mocha and iced americano, the drinks were mid. I’d go back to try different pastries.“
“It’s my amazing first time being here. Now breakfast and cup of mocha with butter croissant is my sweet choice today ?Wow, taste is very good!If you like to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea - welcome to this awesome place!Stuff are very kind, atmosphere is pleasant!Highly recommended?“
“What should I do in Japanese restaurant while some americans are talking too loud?In a situation where fellow diners are being too loud in a restaurant, it's generally best to handle it with tact and politeness. Here are a few steps you could consider:1. **Self-assessment**: First, check if their volume is indeed excessively loud or if it's a normal conversation level for a public place.[I put the earplug on to protect my hearing.]2. **Move Away**: If possible, ask the restaurant staff if you can move to a quieter table.[This is a small place.]3. **Communicate with the Staff**: If moving isn't an option, you might consider speaking to the restaurant staff or management. They are usually trained to handle such situations diplomatically.[Staff is busy and understaffed even for bringing dishes to the side of our desk.]4. **Direct but Polite Approach**: If you feel comfortable, you could approach the individuals directly. Do so politely and calmly, expressing that their conversation volume is a bit high and is disturbing your dining experience.[Some of them speaks Chinese but they just pretend to ignore our complaints. ]Remember, every situation is different and requires a judgement call. It's important to stay respectful and considerate in your approach.[I am wondering what else I can do to deal with this situation?]“
“I spent half a year at Palo Alto interning at a tech company and I frequently ate at crepevine. I like it very much. Almost all good is great, tastes good, reasonably priced, and very large portion. I often take half of the meal out for dinner. The selection is also very good. I had salad, sandwich, omelette, a lot of dishes. Overall, I enjoyed dining at Crepevine, although I dont know whether I will come back to Palo Alto again.“
“This place has a classic, low key local vibe that really makes you feel relaxed and cozy. You can choose between booth seats by the window or table seating that works for both smaller and larger groups. Personally a big fan of their beef stew - loaded with fresh ingredients and the soup is absolutely delicious. The grilled chicken tastes good too, although the rice can be a bit on the softer side the day I had. Staffs are welcoming and wearing smiles all the time. Inexpensive price. Highly recommended if you’re in the mood for authentic and casual Vietnamese food!“
“Solid. Just solid, really good (and substantially sized) baked goods. ? I got their breakfast bar, their pork and shrimp Mondo, their chicken and shiktake mushroom Mondo, and a chocolate chip cookie and their lox Sammie. FYI, it’s set up like a pop-up bakery stall - didn’t see much sit down options. (I’ll update with pictures and more details if I have time.)“
“We ordered vegan pizzas with dietary restrictions a few months back and they were awesome . Asked the chef to customize on phone for deliveryVegetarian options: We ordered vegan ( no onion garlic ) pizza and it was awesomeDietary restrictions: We ordered vegan ( no onion garlic mushroom ) pizza and it was awesome“
“Amazing bakery and cafe with superb pastries and amazing food . High quality baklava and very affordable . Ambiance is amazing !! Great tea place to invite and meet friends .Ramadan hours are great and staff and owners are very welcoming and friendly !!Dietary restrictions: They have vegetarian and all kinds of food .Wheelchair accessibility: It’s very easily available and handicapped table is very much there .“
“I love the vibes of this quaint, very French cafe - it just feels so authentic. Service is quick despite being fairly busy and the wide menu means you can always get something that you're craving. The food itself is pretty good but not particularly outstanding - for example, the croque madame sort of just fell apart from the softness of the bread and the wetness of the bechamel. However, the pastries look good and seem affordable - they're next on my list to try when I return!“
“It’s our first time to explore the Japanese food around this area and saw the review of this place.Have to say, the food and service impressed us. We arrived around 2 which there was almost no one during new year eve, and the staff is very warm to bring us water first without asking. The menu is all very tempting, and we decided to order 3 rolls and 2 appetizers. The fish is fresh and the rolls are flavorful! The restaurant is very clean and wide as well.Strong recommendation on this spot!“
“Oren's Hummus offers a memorable dining experience with its inviting ambiance and attentive service. Indulge in their signature hummus and flavorful Mediterranean dishes. Generous portions ensure satisfaction, with baklava as a sweet finale.“
“I’m from the East Coast, and even though I have spent a few years in California this is only my second trip to an In-N-Out. Fantastic burger that rivals the best out there (Shake Shack etc.) with solid fries, all for a much more reasonable price than Five Guys or other East Coast chains. Also, the restaurant was clean and the staff were incredibly nice. The soda fountains worked, the napkins were stocked, and the food came out quickly. If you come, be sure to look up the not so secret menu ahead of time. Animal style burgers are tasty.“
“Food is reliably very good. Used to come here all the time when we lived in Sunnyvale. Moved away and still come back every time we're in the area. Without fail we always order the eggplant tofu, and the vegetarian Kung Pao "chicken" and vegetable chow mein. All of these are exceptionally tasty. My only complaint is that the bathroom needs deep cleaning. Like seriously get some professional help cleaning the bathroom stall walls, tile floors and grout, and buy some new toilet paper holders in where broken ones are. Also update the sink faucet, clean the sink and get paper towels In addition to that "stupid' wall fan. Nobody wants to touch the door handle. Provide paper towels so we don't have to grab toilet seat covers to open the exit door. And while you're at it, put a waste basket by the door where we can throw whatever we used to open the door with. Thank you.I will still come back as the food is very good, but if the bathroom cleanliness still sucks the next time I go, that will be the last time I come back.“
“My wife and I have been going to La Patisserie Bakery for years. We love their cookies, lemon bars, pastries, tarts, cakes, etc. Their version of the following... French Napoleon: Puff pastry filled with creamy custard and raspberry preserve (5/5). By far the best that we've had at any bakery. The flakiness of the pastry, but that layer of raspberry preserve has elevated their version above others. They have a similar one at SBF, but it's not the same. The flakey top is not as good as La Patisserie. Persian Napoleon: Layered puff pastry filled with light cream (4/5). Guava Cake: Guava filled and iced with guava mousse, topped with a thin layer of guava glaze (4/5). This is delicious, light, airy cake, with the creamy guava and glaze which is not too sweet. Burnt Almond: Vanilla and chocolate cake filled with Amaretto custard filling, iced with whipped cream, and topped with candied almonds (4/5). Black Forest: Chocolate cake filled with custard and cherry preserve, iced with whipped cream, and topped with Maraschino cherries (4/5).“
“I ate at World Wrapps in the Mercado Shopping Center today -- the steak and shrimp fajita; it was tasty and consisted of four substantial fajitas. The price was modest – about $15+ tax and tip. Their menu consists mostly of wraps, bowls, fajitas, and quesadillasThe customer orders at the cashier/counter and an employee brings the food to your table. There are only a few tables inside with more outside. There is plenty of free street level parking in the Mercado Shopping Center. World Wrapps is just a few doors down from the AMC theater.“
“World Wrapps offers a diverse selection of wraps and bowls inspired by all sorts of global cuisines. It’s customizable and any wrap can be ordered in bowl form, or vice versa. The wraps are sizable and very filling. The sweet potato kale wrap with steak and shrimp was amazing. The Hawaiian teriyaki wrap was pretty decent and had a sweet sauce and stir fried vegetables. They also offer a variety of drinks, of which we tried the pineapple mint agua Fresca - quite refreshing!“
“Tried the soft tofu (fish egg) for the first time and was amazed with it. Also the supplement dishes on the table were amazing without exception. Note: medium spice is good enough, anything higher might overwhelm you but decide for yourself of “
“Really cute & chic bakery with delicious pastries. The store is really spacious -- you can order your coffee & pastries for take out but there's also a whole section of the restaurant where you can sit down and eat as well. I really enjoyed the flat croissant. For me, it's the best part of the croissant -- the crispiness and flakiness of a croissant. The strawberry glaze and freeze-dried strawberries also added a nice touch. Would come back just for this. The almond croissant was pretty good but not amazing. The croissant itself was flaky and fluffy. The filling was good but personally thought there was too much filling so that's all you taste in eat bite. It's a little too overpowering and felt like I was mainly just eating that. 100% have to heat it up before eating -- otherwise, it tastes very mid. Overall, their desserts & pastries are yummy but don't think it's worth the drive here if you don't live in the area.“
“I tried their Spinach Benedict with freshly squeezed orange juice, was very tasty and filling ?. The ambience was good with some classic seating arrangements they have both indoor and outdoor seatings.Good place for breakfast fast. I can only recommend breakfast, that's what I tried.“
“We got the coconut shrimp, jerk chicken, and curry shrimp plate. Food was delicious. The beans and rice really stood on its own! Can’t wait to come back to try the goat curry and the cornbread. What I think was the best part was the waitress who gave us great service.“
“Amazing pizzas at very affordable pricing and very fresh and quality ingredients used. Now who can beat that combination during these inflation times that too in Bay Area. We tried vegan pizza, Mexican and pepperoni pizza. I am no vegan but heard great things about this pizza from a friend so wanted to try. Really good pizza and they use daiya cheese as vegan substitute for chesse. My daughters enjoyed the pepperoni pizza and between 2 of them they finished a small pizza. Btw, they offer only 3 sizes: small, large and X-Large and small was more like a medium. For $11-13 for a smalll pizza with so many toppings, they were really a steal. The order was also made ready in 15 minutes after placing the order so the service is quick too. The crust was perfect think crust like NY style. Would definitely try again some other combinations next time.“
“The go-to coffee shop in Mountain View. Consistently great lattes, particularly a half-sweet hazelnut latte. Good selection of beans for purchase, with roast levels being on the lighter side. There's not a lot of room on the first floor to stand and wait for your drink, however it's a historical building so I don't see that changing any time soon. If you haven't been to Red Rock in quite some time, it's worth a revisit!“
“Try the croque madame! It makes for a delicious and decadent lunch and comes with a good side salad. They also have a tasty cheesecake. The coffee/drinks are just OK for me and the hot chocolate was disappointing - definitely skip. Good almond croissant and chocolate croissants as well. Service is friendly although tables are not cleaned in a timely manner. This is a nice spot to have in Redwood City and has potential to be great with improved beverages/cleanliness.“
“Our experience here was wonderful! Excellent food, the most delicious and addictive bread service, and amazing service. The waiters and bus boys were very kind and accommodating. This is the type of service I expect from restaurants, that I don’t see often in the Bay Area, but this was a great experience and we will be back! Special thanks to Will, he was great.“
“Came here for my birthday dinner. Parking was easy since we had an early reservation. We were seated promptly. Service was a bit hard to flag down—the partitions that made each table feel like a private dining experience was a double edged sword. But once we did manage to flag someone down, they were very nice. They put all our sushi on a boat, balled up wasabi on either end, and stuck birthday candles into them. It was a nice touch. We ordered fried oysters, agedashi tofu, chicken karaage, and seaweed salad for appetizers. Our favorite item was the spicy citrus scallop roll, we would order that again.“
“We have ordered dinner the for pickup before, but yesterday was the first time we sat down and ate there. It was about 5:15 pm when we got there and it wasn't crowded at all. We were greeted and directed to sit wherever we liked. Our server came immediately, greeted us and took our drink order. We appreciated the quick and attentive service we received. For this visit I ordered the Oriecchette with sausage, make and pine nuts. I was expecting a lot of flavor from it, but it tasted bland to me to where I needed to add salt. My family members ordered a large lasagna, a personal pizza and a small pizza. They enjoyed their meal. We also had garlic bread sticks which are pan fried. We all enjoyed that. Next time I go I will probably try their pizza instead of their entrees.“
“This spot is my favorite Cuban restaurant in South Bay! I've been going here for years and have never been disappointed. The ambience transports you when you walk in! It's a great lively restaurant for date nights, anniversaries, or even a post work dinner with coworkers. Whether you're sitter by the bar or their more intimate dining room, the vibes are immaculate and the servers take good care of you! We sat by the bar and went an hour after they opened on a Wednesday night- they weren't too busy quite yet, but soon picked up. They brought us house bread and we ordered the croquetas and shrimp ceviche to start. The ceviche is good balance of tanginess and spicy. It's served on bread soaked up with the sauce, but somehow not soggy, which they nail every time! The shrimp was cooked to perfection and had great flavor. The pollo croquetas were a special that night and absolutes melted in your mouth. The aoli was an excellent addition to this dish. All the flavors come through even without the sauce. For our main course we ordered arroz con pollo served with my favorite, plantains! The chicken was tender and melted in your mouth. It was well seasoned and as always the flavors were dancing on my tongue haha. We got the plantain crusted goat cheese salad with delicious sherry vinaigrette! It was light and fresh and a great way to end our meal. I absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to explore authentic Cuban food :)“
“Recommendations: All dishes! They’re good! Me? I was looking for Steak Fajitas.Server did great with leading me to fajitas options under Shrimp Fajitas. Perfect! I had myself Steak Fajitas. Great portion comes with tortillas rice, beans, and the work. The atmosphere is culturally AWESOME! Place is beautiful.Their service timing is above and beyond.“
“Lots of pastries there, and they have drinks to go along with your sweets. The place is small, but it’s definitely worth a visit. I went there for the spiral croissants and it had the creamy taste you would expect from these kind of pastries.“
“Delicious cheesecake and lovely store! Unique sour cream layer which balances out the cheesecake layer perfectly. So so good. Don't just take it from me, multiple local high-end restaurants serve Namesake Cheesecake, so obviously this is the real deal! The store is a great place to buy gifts for others (and to treat yourself!) - beautiful alpaca shawls and blankets, olive oil, jewelry from local artisans. Cherith the owner is the sweetest most welcoming and friendly person. Support local business! This one is a total gem. Check the hours before you stop in. Easy street parking around the corner on the south side of College Ave.“
“Dined in at Roll House today and it does not disappoint! It's called roll house for a reason because their rolls we amazing! So fresh and perfectly seasoned. The rolls were also huge (as seen in the picture) and there were tons of options. We tried the half and half and did a split of the spicy pork and veggie roll. I liked the veggie roll better because the seasoning on the pork one made the pork not taste like pork? We also ordered the spicy cheese tteokbokki with dumplings and blood sausage, as well as the beef short rib with rice and vegetables on the sizzling plate. The ribs were sooooo tender and flavourfull, but had a little too much cartilage on them. Portions here are huge but makes sense considering the price. Will definitely be back to try more rolls!“
“Went on Christmas Eve and they were super busy. They still served us promptly and we were a group of 9. The food was creative and the coffee cake was delicious. The only downside was us not knowing they didn’t split checks on the weekends.“
“Ordered a full sheet chocolate hazelnut mousse cake for a special retirement party at work. It was magnificent! It looked stunning and also tasted wonderful with rave reviews from everyone who had some. The retiree took home 4 pieces! Also a shout out to the person who personalized the cake. I gave her a tough task and she did an amazing job. People at the shop with whom I consulted were also wonderful, it was ready exactly when they said it would be, and they helped me carry this very large(!) cake to my car. Now everyone wants it for their retirement party.“
“I got the red velvet and confetti Bundt cakes. The cakes themselves are good and such a fun size. Love the flavor and they taste pretty good. They're not the freshest but they're not stale either. The wait was a bit long especially because I assume these are already pre packaged so I was surprised that I had to wait 15 minutes but it's okay. Overall I like this place but I only go on special occasions.“
“This is a pretty good sandwich shop but goodness every time we come here it's EXTREMELY SLOW! You can wait upwards of 30+ minutes for sandwiches. We even went at what I thought was an off hour (around 2pm on a Sunday) and we still waited 20-30 minutes for two sandwiches.I did enjoy my sandwich last time though - turkey, lettuce, tomato, mayo on Dutch crunch bread. Bread didn't cut up my mouth or break my teeth (a problem I've had with some other Dutch crunch bread at some places)... ingredients tasted fresh and overall sure I'd come back but not if I'm in a hurry.“
“Delicious food, hummus, vegetables. My husband and son loved the lamb.Vegetarian options: Try the beets, carrots, hummus, baba gnoush, other eggplant dishes. Nice mint infusion.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free pitas. The whole wheat pitas are very fresh. All the food tastes fresh.“
“absolutely best staff in the food industry. top tier customer service, very hardworking and efficient, super nice and genuine people. i go here every day after school, my go to is the sabercat (chicken fried steak sandwich) on french bread no tomato add banana peppers. recommend to all new de anza students. and everyone in cupertino area. best ikes location (ive tried a lot, this one is better than downtown), best sandwich place.“
“The cutest little dessert shop in Los Altos. Has the best cake and very yummy drinks. There is no longer any indoor seating but plenty of outdoor seating with shades. My favorite is the strawberry and cream cake and it is by far the best one I've ever had. Service is quick and just a grab and go kind of place where you pick up your cake and find a place to sit down. Since the seating is outdoors on a Main Street there is the ambiance of cars and people walking by.“
