“This Japanese restaurant is an absolute delight! The sleek and modern decor creates a stylish and welcoming atmosphere. The menu showcases a wide range of traditional Japanese dishes, all beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. From the fresh sashimi to the perfectly cooked tempura, every bite is a true culinary experience. The attentive and friendly staff add to the overall exceptional dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic and delicious Japanese cuisine!“
“I visited this gem on a Sunday and it was busier than I anticipated so I had to wait. Not a big deal and wasn't a long time. Once inside, I was able to order right away. I Iooove mariscos and had a hard time making a choice because everything looked so delicious. I was torn between a vasiloco and Aguachiles. I ultimately decided on a Super Chavela, Aguachiles Tricolor, and a roll of sushi. I can't remember specifically what sushi roll I got because the star of the show was definitely the aguachiles!! The Chavela was ice cold and so refreshing. It did a great job of relieving the heat from the aguachiles. The aguachiles were so fresh and flavorful. I've honestly been craving more ever since and will be back soon for that vasiloco!!!“
“We went on Valentine's Day, not the perfect day because there a lot of couples ahead of us but we're able to secure a table, so that's a good thing. The atmosphere and food was absolutely a steal compare so other fancy sushi place. I loved the Philadelphia Roll and the wife liked the avocado roll. Sushi Roll was to go for quality with a budget in mind.“
“Absolutely the best sushi in South Bay. Their fish is so incredibly fresh and high quality that I don't bother with anything else. The Extra Special Nigiri Sushi is what I get almost every time.Parking: If the nearby parking lot is full, I usually park at the parking garage across Castro. It's a short walk away.“
“Authentic Japanese izakaya with a wide selection of delicious Japanese food, everything from ramen and sashimi to curry and bentos. Lots of great side dishes too, I personally enjoy the natto, sushi to pepper and tsukemono. They also have plenty of Japanese beers and sake. Open pretty late too (11pm) for when you get a late night craving for Japanese food.“
“I ordered takeout through Uber Eats from this place, so can't comment about the service and atmosphere of this place. I got the spicy dragon roll, gyoza and salmon teriyaki entree. The gyoza was standard and it was a slight let down because it wasn't warm, but that's completely on the Uber driver as he had to make a few deliveries on the way. The spicy dragon roll was disappointing, it wasn't spicy at all and the sushi roll's rice didn't appear spot on. The salmon teriyaki was standard and decent. However the miso soup was plain bad, too watery and lacking flavor.“
“We love this place it is our favorite sushi restaurant in san jose. The sushi chef and servers are super nice they remember us and make us feel like family. Super fresh sushi and friendly service. 49er roll is family fave. also kids love the tempura ice cream.“
“this has become my family's go to sushi spot. service is really friendly, we're so regular now they pretty much know our order without asking. the sushi's fresh and delicious, and it's just a simple experience for when you need to scratch the sushi itch.Vegetarian options: there's a few things, but I wouldn't expect anything specialParking: it's in a medium size strip mall so there's usually plenty of spotsKid-friendliness: nothing overtly kid friendly, but also nothing kid prohibitiveWheelchair accessibility: plenty of tables with free standing chairs that could be moved to accommodate a wheelchair“
“Super small but sushi is sooo good and fresh as well as fast and friendly service, we got 3 orders of Nigiri, 6 classic rolls and one specialty roll and only paid 107Vegetarian options: There are a good amount of veggie rollsParking: Small parking lot.“
“I had a good lunch here today. This is a small hole in the wall that serves up good food. I remember coming here when they had a different name and if I remember correctly, this is an upgrade. The staff was attentive and courteous. I enjoyed the special match tea and the bento box. The salmon was fresh and like butter. I was not as big of a fan of the chicken katsu.“
“Hidden gem amazing food reasonably priced great service!! I was blown away by the quality of the fish and overall presentation. It's a small restaurant that many locals were dining in and getting takeout from while we were there. I will definitely be going back next time we are in the area!!“
“Love this place. Have been a loyal customer for many years. Unfortunately after COVID many places went up in prices and down in quality, luckily it’s not the case for this place! The food is fresh and tastes good, and the people are so nice, they truly care about their customers.“
“I absolutely LOVE poke poke fish bar! This is the only place in the South Bay I will go for poke! It is high quality and delicious food. Anytime I get dragged into getting poke anywhere else I’m just comparing it to this place and they are never as good.“
“Got the lunch special twice, and it didn't disappoint. All the items were tasty and nicely prepared. I've visited Japan and would say this dish is comparable to what I've eaten there in terms of authenticity. The service was friendly and quick too, despite how busy lunch hour tends to be here. The only thing is that the eating area is not the most spacious. However, I've eaten at smaller places in Japan so it's not a bother to me but worth noting.“
“California diaries・I keep coming here and eating delicious food!Delicious seafood, vegetables, and meat ?It's delicious? Here are the meal details! It's a sushi restaurant with a spacious space, a wonderful counter with the smell of wood, and a live performance that feels like a stage, where you can watch the craftsmen work right in front of you.Wood, concrete, pottery, glass...I liked the simple and relaxed feel of this shop♪They also give detailed explanations of the ingredients.Seasonal ingredients are incorporated throughout, giving you a sense of the season and a quality that makes you feel like you're in Tokyo!Tuna ? is aged for 14 days from Spain.Tonight's course is called sea urchin special.(I'm drunk, so I may have missed something)☑︎Yuzu pepper sesame tofu☑︎Mekabu☑︎Grilled firefly squid☑︎Boiledsushi☑︎Hokkaido scallops☑︎Sweet shrimp☑︎Striped horse mackerel☑︎Tuna☑︎Sumika sea urchin☑︎Medium Toro☑︎Lean meat☑︎Sea urchin seaweed☑︎Conger eel☑︎Ball☑︎Smoked cherry salmon finishSea urchin special☑︎Simmered sea urchin and eggplant☑︎Sea urchin x rice crackers☑︎Chawanmushi☑︎FutomakiEnd with matcha ?Originally.Extra editionFrom here, I decided to drink Kistler!☑︎Hotaru squid marinated in oki☑︎Semi-boiled salmon roe✔️Sake list☑︎Ohmine Yamadanishiki "2 Grain"☑︎Kurozaemon Junmai Daiginjo Nama Genshu☑︎Juyondai Junmai Muroka✔️Wine list☑︎DOM PÉRIGNON VINTAGE 2013☑︎Kistler Chardonnay Cuvee Cathleen2009I shared all the alcohol with the owner and everyone.Dom Peri 2013 has a clean, neutral flavor that goes well with sushi. “We came here on a Friday night 3/22 around 5:30pm. We're seated right away at the sushi bar. The place started getting extremely busy and all the tables were occupied by 6:30pm. They had 1 main sushi chef then a second cook came out to help. 2 waitresses on staff that were all working very hard non stop, but can't seem to keep up with the patrons and DoorDash standing by. We ordered the Rainbow roll - very fresh Tiger dragon roll - love this roll Spicy tuna roll - one of the best Kanpachi nigiri - it was okay Hamachi nigiri- very good and fresh Scallop - will not order again Ebi - just okay. We will definitely come back, but on a different day of the week when they not as busy.“
“You can easily book a table online or just give the restaurant a call. Our group of four made a seamless entrance on time thanks to the reservation. They've got a diverse menu with nearly everything covered. The'Unagi Omelette 鰻魚玉子燒,' 'Yamaimo Sengiri 山藥紫蘇', and the 'Mentaiko Pasta 明太子麵' are my favorite. The beef tongue and clam soup were also delicious. If you're into Japanese food with a local casual dining feel, this place comes highly recommended! Plus, they have private booths for a more intimate family or friend gathering.“
“We discovered this little treasure by accident. The food was delicious. Disappointed my dish Ocean in a Coconut didn’t come in a coconut shell as described in the menu but perhaps coconuts aren’t in season. It did contain slices of coconut. My husbands mango curry chicken was to die for. Wonderfully sweet chunks of mango.“
“The namesake sushi, eighty-eight roll, was great and nicely presented with poke pieces on top. The regular rolls: spider, Philly, and Negihama had chewy seaweed (not a crispy bite) wrap and not as fun and tasty. The agedashi tofu was nice and the hot sake was generous. They were busy so they couldn't always check when we needed water or additional ginger to add flavor to sushi.“
“Very high quality fish with great portion sizes. I came here with a few friends and we were all very satisfied. I got the dinner combo with 2 orders of sashimi (16 pieces total) and the pieces were very big, fatty, and high quality. My friends got the sake don (also very high quality salmon) and the chicken katsu, which came with a mountain of chicken katsu and was great for the price. I will definitely be coming back as this is one of the best sushi restaurants I've been to in the bay area.“
“Superb dining experience! Wonderful presentation for all of the dishes, and all the sushi, beef, and sashimi was fresh and well prepared. Excellent selection of sake, along with a very attentive staff that took care of every little detail. Can’t wait to go back for another meal soon!“
“Came for lunch with a group. Was pleasantly in uniquely surprised for what this place has in store. When you approach the entrance it seems lackluster until you walk through the alley and it opens up into a full-on restaurant and bar. The owner's concept and design is a bit mesmerizing and makes it feel like an oasis in an urban setting. Plenty of items to pick from on the menu, it was taco Tuesday so I had to get one taco of each meat and wash it down with an agua fresca. This is a restaurant you do not want to miss out on in San Jose, great meat, great service, amicable staff. Parking can be a little rough to find but definitely worth it.“
“This sushi restaurant is the BEST! The food is so good and the service is perfect. Me and my family order takeaway every week and it never disappoints. I highly recommend Bay Sushi for all the sushi lovers (they have MANY options for those who don't eat sushi) on Thursdays and Friday the place is pretty packed but somehow they always have one table left, and if not you wait for only 5-10 minutes, but its 100% worth it!! We love this restaurant and hope you will too!“
“Quality of the food here is great and very authentic, though priced on the higher side. We enjoyed the sashimi and rolls. Atmosphere is very lively and the space seems best for smaller parties. It usually gets very busy during peak hours, so it's recommended to coming early to avoid waiting longer. Parking can be tough in the plaza lot but it's usually ok.“
“My family favorite spot for sushi. As a Brazilian we loved deep fried rolls and here you can find the best ones. The special rolls are delicious.Shut outTo garlic roll, San Jose, koya roll. The chef always make rice bowls to my daughter and she loves it“
“Sushi was very good big and fresh rolls .The quality was awesomeGood tasteAlso the udon were amazingI really like this placeMaybe they can refurbish inside and make it little bit better and newer .I suggest to go here if you are in the area .“
“Love this gem of a place I just discovered. Very good Agedashi Tofu. If you have seen my reviews before you will realize that’s one of the ways I judge quality. Second, the Snapper nigiri was incredible. Best I have ever had. Tender, flavorful perfect. They were out of Hirame so I will have to return. And finally the Blue Fin Toro was incredible. It was my last bite and I know I will be back for more of everything. Very local and superb no-frills ambiance, unassuming and priced well. Foodies converge!“
“WE VISIT OFTEN AND JUST LOVE THIS PLACE. Fish is always fresh and the rolls are tasty and a good size. Love their tempura. It's really worth the trip. Prices are average. Happy hr is alway a plus. This is our go to place. Usually crowded and service could be better but we think the wait is worth it. Our sashimi platter was awesome, thats why you wait. Perfection“
“The spicy edamame garlic was a but of a disappointment, not spicy and very sticky. The spicy chicken karage was not your typical crunchy chicken, the texture was more like a chicken's general type of meal. Everything else was pretty good including the 49ers roll. We were able to sit instantly, no wait on a Friday night. The waitress really did rush us through the meal though.“
“This place is a gem. Why? Because they offer real snow crab in their California roll. Bento box and miso soup are super flavorful. Service was efficient and professional. I have been looking for a sushi spot that offers real crab and other than Nobu in Palo Alto.“
“From observation, this restaurant is a typo Korean sushi restaurant serving the typical sashimi, nigiri and rolls. There's a hidden menu at the restaurant that is called ahead or reserved only. They bring in live yellow farmed halibut and octopus weekly for really fresh sashimi plates. These are whole fishes only so go with at least 3 ppl. They also carry good sake to go with the sushi.“
“Kyoto Palace is a vibe, my family and I came here friday night and we were not disappointed. I'm ngl I was a little over stimulated because of how loud the restaurant was from the guests to the music, but it was a good loud you could tell people were enjoying themselves. Once I got a drink I felt way better lol, the drinks were tasty and strong. To drink, we got the senorita margarita, side car, el burro and my name jeff. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the last two drinks they were so good. The service was great from the chef and waitress and the teppanyaki was pretty good as well. I got the palace trio and for the most part it was really good especially the next day. I'll def be back with friends :)“
“We love that Sushi Masa has a happy hour menu now! We’ve tried all of the rolls and our favorites are the spicy yellowtail, the double crunchy and the tempura shrimp. The spring roll and edamame are also favorites as well.Lily has been our server/bartender for several of our visits and she is the best! The restaurant has an all you can eat lunch or dinner special, but this happy hour menu provides us with just the right amount of food.“
“My family and I have just discovered this location. We have been here about five times. The sushi portions are generous and fresh. All of the rolls we have tried have been delicious. The service is always attentive if anything is needed and always really friendly.“
“Every time I come to this place and every time I forget to write a review). The restaurant is very clean, the staff is kind and courteous, the portions are large, the food is quite tasty, the price category is above average. I am attaching the menu and photos of the dishes.“
“It is the staff at Pacific Catch Cupertino that really makes dining there such a treat. It's like having drinks and dinner at a Friend's house only they cook you whatever you want. Galinda continues to be the most wonderful person. Oh yeah, great drinks, great food and if you are not doing the rewards program you are crazy!“
“Came here around 6:30pm on a sunday night and waited for around 30 minutes for a party of 3. I ordered the Chirashi Don Deluxe, which was $13 pricier than the regular chirashi don for a tiny piece of uni and sweet shrimp, which was not really worth it imo. However, all the fish were super high quality. I also liked that there was a good mix of red and white fish, lean and fatty cuts, and the addition of tamago, scallop, and ikura. The sushi rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The portion was huge as well - I'd probably share this chirashi don with a friend if I were to get it again. I definitely would come back for the great fish quality.“
“Hidden Japanese gem in Cupertino! Small, quiet, authentic sushi restaurant. I followed the enticing aroma of the wood burning barbecue and discovered Sushi Kuni. I had their two item combo with beef teriyaki and sashimi, which included three generous pieces each of white tuna and Maguro tuna on a bed of finely shredded radish with a nice dollop of wasabi. The tunas were both melt in mouth tender with only the slightest touch of fishiness. Very pleased with how fresh the Sashimi is. The succulent and tender beef teriyaki was served on a bed of mung bean sprouts, which was a delight in itself. And I couldn't help ordering a side of Yakitori chicken, which looks absolutely as moist as it tastes! I am so glad that I found Sushi Kuni. I can not adequately describe how absolutely delicious it is and how pleased I am with this first meal!“
“Shima Sushi has been our go-to spot for seven years, and it never fails to exceed expectations.Their "Sunrise" and "Sunset" rolls are simply the best, bursting with delicious flavors. The consistent quality, friendly service, and cozy atmosphere keep us coming back for more—this place truly feels like home!“
“This was my second time having sushiritto! I'm not a big raw fish fan so I went for the sumo crunch. Last time I ordered it, I found the tempura flakes to be too oily and heavy so I skipped them this time around. I'm glad I did. What worked: --Lots of avocado and imitation crab -- big portion -- ready quickly -- the food court idea is cool! What didn't work: -- the seaweed wrap was on the oily side, the burrito overall felt heavy -- lacked fresh elements. Adding leafy greens or more veggies would've broken up the heaviness -- no vegan options on the sushiritto menu -- very expensive! $16 for one burrito! I think it's fun to try but I don't think I'd come again unless I was really craving it. A regular sushi roll may be a better and cheaper option“
“A brilliant bento box, with a great selection of choices.I had the tripple bento, with teriyaki beef, chicken katsu and tuna nigiri. All were great and served quickly with a lovely miso soup that really hit the spot!Excellent value for money in this area and a great place to go.“
“Love the massive sushi rolls here. Their ratio of filling to rice is amazing. Seriously so much fish/stuffing per roll and the fish was also fresh and buttery. Reasonable prices too. The Mexican roll was $9.99, the O-philly roll was ($10.99), and the Spicy Crazy Roll was ($13.50). Miso Soup was perfect and a comforting side. Super kind service and a cozy ambiance.“
“2/28/2024Sushiko4546 El Camino RealSte A4Los Altos, CA 94022We went there for lunch on a Wed around noon. It's in the Village Court plaza at the corner of ECR and San Antonio Rd. The store front faces San Antonio Rd. with parking around the periphery of the shops. Not too many people when we got there and it starting filling up while we dined. Probably no need for reservations. It's a booth and table layout with a smallish sushi bar. They didn't have calamari. Wifey had the stir fried seafood udon and I had the lunch special Bento Box with Saba Shioyaki and mixed Tempura. My Miso soup was thick, flavorful and had some Wakame but no diced tofu, just okay. The udon had a good selection of seafood, including mussels and shrimp. My Saba was juicy and tasty, with some edible pin bones. The mixed tempura was hot and included two sweet shrimp with assorted vegetables having a crunchy and slightly greasy breading. The salad had a mayo dressing and just okay, no sesame or soy flavors. The menu is extensive with sushi, bento and udon selections. The service was good, even with just a single server. The lunch special bento box is a good value. Similar to several other places in the area, it's repeatable.“
“I go here on a regular basis. I have Celiac and am very sensitive to gluten. Last time I went, I accidentally pushed ramen noodles instead of rice, and they switched it out for me and refunded the extra charge for the noodles. The manager even came out to make sure everything was okay. The outdoor seating is pleasant, ordering on the tablets can take a minute to figure out if you aren't familiar with them (usually, unless you push a wrong button like me), the service is quick, and the food is good.I also have a service animal, and have never had problems bringing him into this space.“
“Enjoyed this Japanese Izakaya very much. Super fresh delicious seafood, authentic flavors, friendly service. A great place to hang out with friends. Their rice bowls are top-notch delicious. The sashimi set is great value for money with massive pieces of fresh fish. We also ordered a okonomiyaki sampler platter with all 4 flavors to share which was great.“
“They seem to have finally sorted things out here. They xfered ownership awhile ago, then the plandemic so... I ordered shrimp tempura appetizer, salad, Hamachi sashimi app, and ca rolls. Everything was very good. It's back up to the quality that's kept me coming back for 30+ years. The way they bag stuff is clunky. Staples... like 5 to close a little bag lol.“
“Went in for lunch around 1:30 and was glad Kaita was still open and taking guests. We were seated right away. The people who work here are so sweet and welcoming and friendly! I love that about Kaita. I usually stick tot he specials but I was in the mood for simple and basic. I got the beef teriyaki for the first time here and I was very pleasantly surprised. Cooked perfectly medium and the sauce was good texture, not too thick or thin. I thought Gombei had the best teriyaki but this visit to Kaita may have changed my mind- definitely tied at least. The salad and miso hit the spot and the service was awesome! This is true comfort food for me, with plain white rice- best lunch out, in a long time! Wife had the chicken teriyaki donburi and she enjoyed that as well. It was a very large portion and she took a lot home for later. We had one soda and loved the complimentary tea. Lunch for two was $35.71 before tip. Can't beat that price, the quality and deliciousness of the food, and the friendly and genuine sweet service made our day!“
“I searched something to eat on google and i founded this place. The food was amazing . Mariles gave me excellent service as soon as I entered the store, Mariam prepared the food for me and it was really delicious. Thanks for both for a great experience.“
“We came for dinner on a Saturday and were seated right away, nice service. We got a lion king roll and the sashimi medium (20 pcs of sashimi). Both were delicious, and the sashimi was fresh and great quality. We especially enjoyed the salmon sashimi. Total bill was about $70 before tip, and I’d say for the quality it was definitely worth it. Less expensive than some of the lower quality sushi I’ve had in the Bay Area. We will be back again!“
“The food is great! If you get the 2 or 3 piece dinner combo it’s a ton of food for a decent price. The waitress was SO nice! Also, everything comes to your table really quick as the guys in the kitchen are on it! I live a 5 min walk away so I’ll come here more “
