About Kazoo Sushi Boat – Japantown San Jose

Based on the reviews, Kazoo Sushi Boat in Japantown San Jose is a casual, no-frills sushi spot. Some find the interior sterile with gigantic TVs and a smell of cheap cleaning products, while others describe it as a nice, clean restaurant. The sushi receives mixed feedback. Some say the sushi is fresh, flavorful, and well prepared, with rolls that are hearty, meaty, and satisfying. Others felt the sushi was a little old, dry, and bland. Specific rolls mentioned include the Spicy Hotate Roll with creamy mayo sauce, the Spicy Maguro with super fresh and thick tuna, and the San Jose Roll with crispy tempura shrimp. The party boat bento box is a ton of food, and the chicken katsu is super crispy. The edamame starter was bland with no seasoning. The restaurant has a conveyer bar area and regular seating. It is a good place for a quick, cheap lunch, offering affordable items like bento boxes or a happy boat. Service is fairly quick, though the space can get crowded. It is not the best sushi spot ever, but a great go-to for hearty, no-nonsense sushi that hits the spot.

Great customer service! Food is good as well.
Great place to celebrate a birthday or other special occasion! We ordered one of the large boats and it was delicious. There was something for everyone, including those who were a little hesitant to try sushi.
I can’t wait to go back!
They are mostly a sushi place but we really enjoyed the bento boxes with grilled mackerel, salmon teriyaki and chicken teriyaki (2 boxes). You also get miso soup, salad, rice, gyoza and 3 California rolls. Each box would be enough to feed both of us. The fish and chicken were seasoned and cooked perfectly. The gyoza was deep fried and not steamed but that's a small issue. It was a really good lunch.
