My husband and I decided to come by to grab some manjus this past Saturday before we leave the Bay Area. We got there around 1030AM and there was a line. The line does move fast so don't be discouraged. There is no indoor seating -- in fact, you can't go inside. You order at the window and they call your name when it is ready. This is a tiny little mochi shop in the heart of Japan town. There is always a line, but it moves fast, and you get your order very quickly. Parking is not easy, so my wife usually drops me off, and by the time she's around the block, once I've got our order and I jump into the car, and we take off. Butter mochi and peanut butter are our favorites, but we sometimes try their revolving specials of the day.

So glad I got to stop by with my parents today. My mom loves to eat red bean mochi/ manju ever since I was a kid. She was excited to get them. They were very fresh, not too sweet, the mochi was nice and chewy. They are close Monday through Wednesday. Will definitely be going back!
