“We went on Valentine's Day, not the perfect day because there a lot of couples ahead of us but we're able to secure a table, so that's a good thing. The atmosphere and food was absolutely a steal compare so other fancy sushi place. I loved the Philadelphia Roll and the wife liked the avocado roll. Sushi Roll was to go for quality with a budget in mind.“
“I should have known this place before. Amazing ambiance, great vibe, great service and most of all great food and drink. Fairly priced for the freshest of ingredients they serve.Parking: Limited number of spots shared with the gas station. Street parking is available and it’s first come first serve for the whole neighborhood. Might be tough to find a parking at dinner time.“
“Authentic Japanese izakaya with a wide selection of delicious Japanese food, everything from ramen and sashimi to curry and bentos. Lots of great side dishes too, I personally enjoy the natto, sushi to pepper and tsukemono. They also have plenty of Japanese beers and sake. Open pretty late too (11pm) for when you get a late night craving for Japanese food.“
“WE VISIT OFTEN AND JUST LOVE THIS PLACE. Fish is always fresh and the rolls are tasty and a good size. Love their tempura. It's really worth the trip. Prices are average. Happy hr is alway a plus. This is our go to place. Usually crowded and service could be better but we think the wait is worth it. Our sashimi platter was awesome, thats why you wait. Perfection“
“We love this place it is our favorite sushi restaurant in san jose. The sushi chef and servers are super nice they remember us and make us feel like family. Super fresh sushi and friendly service. 49er roll is family fave. also kids love the tempura ice cream.“
“I had a good lunch here today. This is a small hole in the wall that serves up good food. I remember coming here when they had a different name and if I remember correctly, this is an upgrade. The staff was attentive and courteous. I enjoyed the special match tea and the bento box. The salmon was fresh and like butter. I was not as big of a fan of the chicken katsu.“
“We went for dinner. I had a Dragon Roll, and others with me had a Shrimp Tempura Entree and a Bento Box with Beef Teriyaki / Stir Fried Vegetables. For dessert, we had the green tea ice cream and the mochi ice cream. My favorites from the evening were the sushi and the green tea ice cream. The portions were well-sized, the food was tasty, and the server was very kind.It was a great experience, and I would happily go again.“
“If you are looking for a festive, gastronomic experience, I unwaveringly recommend Mariscos Costa Alegre in Alum Rock. I was weaned in Mexico, so any restaurant that takes me back to my childhood is a treasure. My friend and I went for the second time, and it was even better than the first time. Bertha was our server and guide. She made sure the we enjoyed our experience. The meal always starts with a small cup of shrimp stock. I wish they sold it by the gallon! Our appetizer was a perfect guacamole...and there was more than enough for two.My friend is always adventurous when it comes to food. This time he followed my lead and got their signature dish - Molcajete Costa Alegre. A seafood mix of head-on and peeled shrimp, crab legs, octopus, Tilapia fish filet, green mussels in chipotle cream sauce with nopal, cilantro, and jalapeños. Served with handmade tortillas. According to my friend, this dish is Michelin Star quality. While there is no doubt that the food was outstanding, the 11-piece mariachi band was over the top!!! Yes they are a little loud, but they added so much atmosphere. If you have any room for desert, I recommend that you try Mexico Bakery, just across the street.Again, my thanks to Mariscos Costa Alegre and Bertha for a wonderful evening.“
“Got the lunch special twice, and it didn't disappoint. All the items were tasty and nicely prepared. I've visited Japan and would say this dish is comparable to what I've eaten there in terms of authenticity. The service was friendly and quick too, despite how busy lunch hour tends to be here. The only thing is that the eating area is not the most spacious. However, I've eaten at smaller places in Japan so it's not a bother to me but worth noting.“
“Great little family owned Thai restaurant. The restaurant is on the small/cozy side but we do like coming here for Thai. Lots of great choices on the menu. We have never been disappointed. I prefer the seafood dishes. My wife loves the Pad Thai and also the pineapple rice. The fresh rolls and garlic edamame are very, very good. We usually stop in if we see the restaurant is not crowded. We avoid crowds these days as we limit our risk to covid due to our pre existing health conditions.“
“Super small but sushi is sooo good and fresh as well as fast and friendly service, we got 3 orders of Nigiri, 6 classic rolls and one specialty roll and only paid 107Vegetarian options: There are a good amount of veggie rollsParking: Small parking lot.“
“If it ain’t Fish and Things then why are we going? The menu items have a huge variety, and something for everyone, even the ones that don’t eat enjoy raw fish. They offer an extra scoop of protein than you normally see with the large size being 5 scoops of protein instead of the usual 4. They offer more protein variety, than I’ve seen at any neighboring poke spot with some amazing marinated choices. The cooked salmon tacos are my go to, but the sushi tacos are a great choice as well. The poke bowls are sinful with numerous topping options, a crazy amount of sauces to chose from and fresh produce that tastes like it’s just been chopped. The restaurant is clean, nicely decorated, and well lit and when you walk in you notice the posh feel. The ingredients are fresh and high quality, the fish is immaculately displayed. They have a nice point system that takes money off your purchase after so many points which is nice especially if you go the way I do. They have some bottled drinks at the front but I’ve never purchased drinks there. The price is fair, the poke bowls are a couple dollars more expensive than the neighboring poke restaurants but you get an extra scoop of protein as I mentioned. I recommend this place to all the sushi lovers, the cooked fish lovers, the I just want tacos and I want sushi so I’m gonna eat sushi tacos people. The I really could use a cooked salmon burger folks, come on down you’ll love this place.“
“One of the hidden spots for Sushi in San Jose. This place does not look all that fancy or appealing. However, the food quality and the price are much better than what the store looks like from the outside. Salmon sashimi is thicker than other places around. If you pay by cash, you will get some nice discounts.“
“Went there yesterday to celebrate birthday. We focused mainly on the Sushi rolls which was viewed on the table menu under the glass. Service was great. What I miss is some Japanese music to provide authentic atmosphere.Parking: it is a mall so you can park almost everywhere“
“If you can't find any good sushi restaurants place, I can definitely recommend this one! I came here with my family to try out the new sushi place and I was pleasantly pleased with all the pretty food designs and not only was it beautiful in the eyes, it was quite delicious too. After I finished my meal, I ordered another one and so did my family which was shocking because they were picky eaters and now I guess I found a perfect sushi place to go around when I am feeling that I want some sushi! The employees were also very kind, pouring me water when it was empty! And always asked me how the food was afterwards! The price compared to other sushi places to this one is also very cheap in comparison so if you can't want to spent that much money then chose this sushi place! Good food, good service, and good atmosphere!“
“Best sushi in San Jose! Wish the place was a bit bigger because it’s always busy, but I get that the owner likes things just the way they are. Bigger isn’t always better. My favorite sushi place since Kubota closed in Japantown. One thing I have to say is that you call and the phone just rings and rings. It’s literally like they turn the phone off, that’s not good.“
“Came for lunch with a group. Was pleasantly in uniquely surprised for what this place has in store. When you approach the entrance it seems lackluster until you walk through the alley and it opens up into a full-on restaurant and bar. The owner's concept and design is a bit mesmerizing and makes it feel like an oasis in an urban setting. Plenty of items to pick from on the menu, it was taco Tuesday so I had to get one taco of each meat and wash it down with an agua fresca. This is a restaurant you do not want to miss out on in San Jose, great meat, great service, amicable staff. Parking can be a little rough to find but definitely worth it.“
“I had lived in Japan before. The food was authentic and service was very nice. Definitely will visit again!Oyako udon teishoku was my kid’s favorite and my husband really enjoyed Miyuki teishoku(he chose beef sukiyaki, chicken teriyaki and chicken katsu).“
“The various sushi we tried was good. They either had a different spin on their spider role, or it was overcooked. They were gracious enough to take it off the bill.I will give it another try next time I go as the rest of the food was delicious.“
“Surprisingly good Japanese restaurant in a small mall that we found on the Google map! This Japanese restaurant has a very interesting pirate theme that I thought I was in Disneyland!Even more impressive is the owner and the chef Oswaldo is from Colombia, but the sushi he made for us was very good, the ingredients were very fresh also. The tea set for hot tea was also very interesting and fun to use! The trey that bring us the ice water also very “ pirate “ and the ice water glass also printed with world map! This restaurant are full with details that shows the owners Oswaldo put in lots heart and soul into it!We will be back for sure!Parking: A small free parking lot!“
“Located in Vietnam Town, Enjoy Seoul is in a corner of the left building when you pull into the lot. It isn't the biggest, but definitely clean. My mom and I were seated immediately for an early dinner. We are regulars here as my mom thinks this is her favorite Korean restaurant, and I have to say the soup and the stone bibimbap is also probably the best too. It was more than enough food for the two of us, and we had about one serving left to bring home. I think the banchan helps make the meal filling! Service is average, but in a good way. Took a star down because the table next to us got their food first but we ordered before them, and they seemed to order the same thing we did. Overall, definitely will come back again, and if you do go, try not to go during lunch or dinner rush because it's not that big and you might wait a while.“
“My family favorite spot for sushi. As a Brazilian we loved deep fried rolls and here you can find the best ones. The special rolls are delicious.Shut outTo garlic roll, San Jose, koya roll. The chef always make rice bowls to my daughter and she loves it“
“Quality of the food here is great and very authentic, though priced on the higher side. We enjoyed the sashimi and rolls. Atmosphere is very lively and the space seems best for smaller parties. It usually gets very busy during peak hours, so it's recommended to coming early to avoid waiting longer. Parking can be tough in the plaza lot but it's usually ok.“
“This is our go to sushi spot that we order through DoorDash. Always packaged very thoughtfully! Pictured is the honeymoon roll, tekka maki, CA rolls, Philly rolls and CA deluxe roll. Not pictured but always tasty is the fried CA roll. We’ll continue to order from here and looking forward to dining in someday soon!“
“What an awesome place! This place is tucked away in a strip mall. I happened to run across this restaurant while staying at the nearby Homewood Suites hotel.I ordered the bento box for dinner. At first I thought it was pricey but you definitely get your money's worth! The atmosphere is quiet and the service is fast and friendly.I wish this restaurant would work out a discount program with the nearby hotel. This would draw a lot more customers in.“
“From observation, this restaurant is a typo Korean sushi restaurant serving the typical sashimi, nigiri and rolls. There's a hidden menu at the restaurant that is called ahead or reserved only. They bring in live yellow farmed halibut and octopus weekly for really fresh sashimi plates. These are whole fishes only so go with at least 3 ppl. They also carry good sake to go with the sushi.“
“Went in for lunch around 1:30 and was glad Kaita was still open and taking guests. We were seated right away. The people who work here are so sweet and welcoming and friendly! I love that about Kaita. I usually stick tot he specials but I was in the mood for simple and basic. I got the beef teriyaki for the first time here and I was very pleasantly surprised. Cooked perfectly medium and the sauce was good texture, not too thick or thin. I thought Gombei had the best teriyaki but this visit to Kaita may have changed my mind- definitely tied at least. The salad and miso hit the spot and the service was awesome! This is true comfort food for me, with plain white rice- best lunch out, in a long time! Wife had the chicken teriyaki donburi and she enjoyed that as well. It was a very large portion and she took a lot home for later. We had one soda and loved the complimentary tea. Lunch for two was $35.71 before tip. Can't beat that price, the quality and deliciousness of the food, and the friendly and genuine sweet service made our day!“
“Our friends are from San Jose and have been coming here for over 30 years! Great place to take out-of-town friends for dinner, or to just celebrate a birthday (first time they brought me, I was hooked!) They start you off with a small salad and delicious bowl of soup. The hibachi cook is very pro and entertaining (side note: learn how to catch flying food with your mouth and don’t forget to tip your cook at end of performance!) Your choice of Chicken, NY steak, Filet Mignon, or Scallops. Steak is deliciously cooked to your preference (I recommend the filet mignon!) and don’t even get me started on that yum yum sauce…DELISH!! They cap off your meal with a small bowl of ice cream (I like the green-tea one, sherbet is good too!) Birthday person gets one with a candle and tiny umbrella in it!!) They even take a quality picture of you and your group and give it to you (encased in a card) at the end of meal! Hands down, BEST hibachi place ever!!! I HIGHLY recommend it!!! ??? The Pooles-Modesto, Ca“
“We love that Sushi Masa has a happy hour menu now! We’ve tried all of the rolls and our favorites are the spicy yellowtail, the double crunchy and the tempura shrimp. The spring roll and edamame are also favorites as well.Lily has been our server/bartender for several of our visits and she is the best! The restaurant has an all you can eat lunch or dinner special, but this happy hour menu provides us with just the right amount of food.“
“I ordered a catering order for 10 people for my business and I am beyond ecstatic that I found Sushi Heroes. Their food is amazing and everything was fresh and tasty! Will 100% order again in the future.Dietary restrictions: They were able to accommodate my request by not including any pork in my sushi or potstickers“
“My family and I have just discovered this location. We have been here about five times. The sushi portions are generous and fresh. All of the rolls we have tried have been delicious. The service is always attentive if anything is needed and always really friendly.“
“I have been going to this place for 20 years. The food is amazing! You will not find another place like this. The whole atmosphere here is amazing. When you walk in they are quick to greet you and are always so kind. They really know how to make you feel welcomeParking: There is a full parking lotKid-friendliness: They are super sweet to kids and there are plenty of food options for them as well other than Sushi“
“Shima Sushi has been our go-to spot for seven years, and it never fails to exceed expectations.Their "Sunrise" and "Sunset" rolls are simply the best, bursting with delicious flavors. The consistent quality, friendly service, and cozy atmosphere keep us coming back for more—this place truly feels like home!“
“Love the massive sushi rolls here. Their ratio of filling to rice is amazing. Seriously so much fish/stuffing per roll and the fish was also fresh and buttery. Reasonable prices too. The Mexican roll was $9.99, the O-philly roll was ($10.99), and the Spicy Crazy Roll was ($13.50). Miso Soup was perfect and a comforting side. Super kind service and a cozy ambiance.“
“Really good solid chill sushi place. The customer service was really good. Menu is clear and has a lot of choices with images.I got a ell donburi, the eel could have been softer but it was still delicious with the rice well cooked all for a good cost. We also got a salmon and tuna roll, it was crazy fresh tasting. We also got a 2 lunch set with chicken teriyaki and chicken katsu, both were good.“
“This place is a gem. Why? Because they offer real snow crab in their California roll. Bento box and miso soup are super flavorful. Service was efficient and professional. I have been looking for a sushi spot that offers real crab and other than Nobu in Palo Alto.“
“My family and I have been coming here for the past year, and there aren’t words good enough to describe this absolutely amazing restaurant! The servers are always very sweet and helpful when interacting with. This is a very clean restaurant, and the new menus and paying systems are wonderful. The past few times we came here, the calamari (appetizer) wasn’t as good as it used to be, and after we talked to the staff about it they proved themselves so much better with an astonishing new recipe for it! Due to our slight troubles with the appetizer, the extremely sweet servers provided us with 2 chocolate cake slices and 1 mango mochi bowl on the house! My family and I will always come to this restaurant, it’s one of our absolute favorites! Kenji Sushi always has some of the best sushi around, the different flavors and options are super delicious. 10/10 would recommend!!!“
“They recently started a proper omakase counter service for $75 at the time of writing this review. Other places might offer moriawase disguised as omakase, but this is the true omakase experience. Chefs are super nice and accommodating. Their regular menu is also amazing but I wanted to highlight the omakase experience.“
“The service was excellent. The food was good. I had the beef teriyaki and it was good. Miso soup was hot and tasty. The salad dressing wasn't my preferred as it was creamy and drenched the salad. Needs to be on the side. The daughter had the happy sushi boat and definitely happy getting it. The son had the katsu and was pleased with his choice. Nicely breaded and juicy. Wife had the sashimi bento and liked it. The fish was fresh. Overall a pleasant meal for some out of towners that wished we lived closer or they were closer yo us. Would eat there again.“
“This place has the most amazing Mexican food I've ever had. My friends recommended it, and I tried it for the first time. I'm not usually a big fan of Mexican food, but my husband loves it. This place totally changed my mind about Mexican food. The food is really flavorful and has a strong taste that Thai people will love. The atmosphere is perfect, with live Mexican music and a fun vibe.I highly recommend this place. It's the best Mexican food in San Jose.??“
