“Getting Cochinita Pabil to split for two. Pork was super tender and the pickeled red onions. The Queso with homemade corn tortillas. Our server, Able was on top of it! He spoke to the bartender to ask about making a Oaxacan Old Fashioned (not on menu). The Lunarittas are great!“
“Probably the best vegetarian street food we had in the Bay Area! We appreciated the honesty of the lady at the counter in recommending the Vada Pav over the Dabeli and was she right! The Vada Pav was excellent! So very fresh and soft! All the flavors were just right. Pity we got to eat here only once.“
“Nirvana Soul Coffee is a pretty nice little spot to grab a bite and coffee (even later in the evening). They have a solid amount of inside space to sit while you enjoy your food or drinks. They even have a top floor loft area with a skylight.Their lattes have a strong flavor and sweetness, which is just how I like it, but if you don’t like sweet drinks, you may not want to go for their fancy signature drinks. The only downside is that street parking in the area can be a real pain.“
“I visited this gem on a Sunday and it was busier than I anticipated so I had to wait. Not a big deal and wasn't a long time. Once inside, I was able to order right away. I Iooove mariscos and had a hard time making a choice because everything looked so delicious. I was torn between a vasiloco and Aguachiles. I ultimately decided on a Super Chavela, Aguachiles Tricolor, and a roll of sushi. I can't remember specifically what sushi roll I got because the star of the show was definitely the aguachiles!! The Chavela was ice cold and so refreshing. It did a great job of relieving the heat from the aguachiles. The aguachiles were so fresh and flavorful. I've honestly been craving more ever since and will be back soon for that vasiloco!!!“
“Had a great interaction with the man behind the counter. He was incredibly nice and shared his love for shaved ice with us.We got to try the pineapple, watermelon and something that tasted a lot like grapefruit. The texture was not at all what we expected, it was way better! Will definitely come back for some.mpew watermelon shaved ice, I may even try some new interesting flavors :)“
“This bar is amazing!!! Dave is the man, had a great experience with Ron as well! It’s a very wholesome vibe, I love it. They always have unique beers and different types of food trucks outside. I definitely recommend and will be coming back ???“
“Wow. I am impressed! The ceviche and aguachile were great. The duck mole was exquisite. The duck was perfectly cooked with crispy skin. The corn ribs were delightful. Cocktails were great.10/10 can't wait to go back!Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options on the menu“
“The food at Mercy Mediterranean is amazing! While browsing the website of the recently opened downtown food hall, we stumbled upon this gem and promptly placed our order. We ordered the Chicken Garlic Gyro and Lamb Gyro. Our favorite dish was the Chicken Garlic Gyro. Our order was packed with flavorful chicken, fresh veggies, and creamy tzatziki sauce. This is definitely a satisfying meal for gyro lovers. The service was amazing and the employees are helpful and catering towards their guests.“
“Food was 10/10! I was craving Vietnamese food and came across this place on Yelp! It's located inside a food court where the Lion Plaza is. It's cash only and the price is $20! They only have one thing on the menu and it's a Bò Né aka Shaken Beef Sizzling Plate! I thought everything was so good! The bread was so soft, warm, and fresh. The salad was beautifully dressed in a sweet vinegar sauce. The pate created a nice salty taste to add onto the bread and eggs. The beef was so tender and was paired nicely with a sweet sauce. The onions create, not only a nice crunch to the dish, but also enhances the flavor to the whole thing! I really liked the chili oil as well! I think this whole meal was very well worth the price and it's very filling too! The meal also comes with hot tea! I didn't really get to experience the service, but it was quick and simple! You just order and pick up when it's ready. The place is also open seating so you can sit anywhere. Overall, I would love to eat here again!“
“You can not go wrong with this bakery. Everything available in the store is delicious and there is something for everyone!! I favorite s for different reasons but the one I love since childhood hood are their danishes with raisins and nuts. No one ever makes them like Prters Bakery. Go get you pastries & Enjoy!!“
“My favorite empanadas! I normally get the chicken empanadas with the green aji sauce. I have been coming here for almost a decade and I still love this place. The green aji sauce is very fresh and flavorful. The empanada crust is buttery and flaky while the meat filling is seasoned well. Pricing is great for a locally owned business.“
“Love the flakyness of the empanadas, great flavours love the mole and chicken one.I feel like they could definitely toast the empanadas a bit more though so they're not too soft.Of the sweet ones, I liked the guava empanada. Not the friendliest of staff though but I'm guessing they were just tired?I'll be back to try the cochinita pibil one.“
“Honestly, there’s many places in San Jose you can get great coffee, but here’s why I always come to the San Pedro Voyager1) the customer service. I actually got caught off guard when the barista asked how my day was going because I’m so accustomed to the robotic baristas at Philz that just at scowl at you when you come up to the register. It really feels like the baristas here genuinely want to make you feel at home.2) Lots of seating which is usually rare at popular coffee shops. Being in SP Square means you can easily grab some good food if you need a lunch break and don’t want to move your car.3) Free cup of coffee with unlimited refills if you buy a bag of whole beans.4) Free 90 minutes of parking without the need of validation.Only downside of this place is that it can sometimes feel like a McDonald’s play land with how many parents let their kids run around screaming. And on weekdays, lot of people taking zoom calls and having meetings, so I’d recommend a good pair of noise cancelling headphones“
“Delicious Korean food at a competitive price compared to other Korean restaurants in the South Bay. I like that they offer a non-spicy version of tteokbokki, as I prefer the savory quality to it and most Korean restaurants only sell the spicy version. Their soft dumplings are on the smaller side, but tasty and come with 12 for $11. Really good offering of side dishes, especially if you opt to eat in instead of take out.“
“This restaurant has a wide variety of authentic Mexican food. It has an indoor dining room, but it is low-end. The bathroom room is outdoors on the side of the building. The establishment is friendly. You go here for the food. They are one lare.“
“This place is really good! We tried vegetarian burritos which were delicious. The tortillas were soft and buttery and the filling was really well balanced. The staff were really kind and gave us free small tacos and lots of different salsas, which were all great. The horchata was good too. We highly recommend!“
“Came here with a 4 other coworkers for lunch. This is my to go place, a vegan-only restaurant close to my work and probably the only one close by to San Jose airport area. So I suggested this place to my coworkers.Charlene greeted us and provided us with the menu and also gave us suggestions about what is very popular. She was an excellent host! Thanks for snapping our group picture as well! This place is small but very cozy. There is probably enough seating for maybe 15 or so people indoors and several more outdoors.Food is very delicious.I love that there are so many options here from Italian cuisine (pasta, etc), to American (burgers, fries), boba, ice cream and so much more.I always enjoy supporting such excellent vegan only, cruelty free businesses and would definitely recommend this one to others in this area.Vegetarian options: It’s vegan only so think of it as vegetarian but without dairy and honey and all that jazz.Dietary restrictions: Vegan only restaurant. They also have no onion and non garlic items marked on the menu.Ask the owner about any other allergies or restrictions like gluten or nuts.Parking: This is in a shopping complex so parking is very easy to find.Kid-friendliness: They have kid friendly menu options: like waffles, ice cream and the like.“
“This is my first time visiting this place with my son. I love the atmosphere, people are very friendly and very diverse. They have a local DJ well known and some live music. The beer is very good I will recommend to check it out you can bring your kids too.“
“Went for the live music. It was Saint Patrick's Day and they were serving corned beef and cabbage in addition to their regular menu. The place was packed and I think the live music was a surprise to most of the patrons. The duet playing their own renditions of mostly Rock classics, Mary Ellen and Thom Duell were excellent and very engaging with the audience“
“I've been wanting to visit this cafe for a while, and I finally had the chance last weekend. It's conveniently situated near SJSU with ample street parking. The atmosphere inside is cozy, and they offer a diverse selection of beverages and pastries. As someone who's particular about coffee, I always go for a latte when trying out a new cafe, and theirs was delicious--I even purchased a bag of their coffee beans. We also tried the ham & cheese and pistachio berry croissants, which were equally delightful!I would come back again!“
“Our favorite place to go for Indian pizza. If it is your first time, you cannot go wrong with the "creamy" pizzas. If you like spicy food, go with creamy chili chicken tikka masala pizza. It is absolutely amazing! They have a 30% discount all day Tuesdays ???“
“One of the BEST places in the WHOLE WORLD, no matter if you are a student, local, or even a tourist, you should ALWAYS have this on your number one go to coffee place, 10x better than Starbucks, if you are an Iced Caramel Macchiato fan and bagels with their cheese, GO HERE, it’s so accessible!Parking: Parking is shared by 7-Eleven and Naglee Park Garage.“
“Gunther's catered my mom's funeral. The food was excellent and very tasty. I'm sorry I don't remember the 2 men who worked our party, they were very professional and made sure we were happy. They went out of their way to make sure everything went well. I recommend Gunther's for any social needs. And there chocolate chip cookies so delicious. Thank you for making a sad day a little bearable.“
“On the outside it looks small when you see it in your inside it's pretty roomy, The food is delicious. I recommend the Southwest omelet with chorizo. The Belgian waffles are absolutely amazing. Fluffy and light.Parking: Parking lot behind building,“
“So glad to have discovered this place. There’s a wide range of hand pour options available. Tried the yellow fruit and the notes is obviously on the acidic side which is perfect with its rich, distinct floral aroma. They also sell a variety of roasted beans. Comfortable seating by the window inside. Definitely coming back for more tasting!“
“We happened to be in the area and found this place after an internet search for vegan brewery. What a nice surprise. We ordered nachos, tacos and a drumstick, and enjoyed them all. They also had a nice selection of drinks. I would definitely go back.“
“Everything that a take-out falafel restaurant should be. Delicious warm balls of goodness wrapped in a super fresh pita with perfectly balanced hot sauce, tahini, crisp lettuce, cucumber and tomato. This is a no frills, wait in a short line, eat on picnic tables sort of place. It is a classic in the valley and shouldn’t be missed.“
“Stumbled upon Devine for a late dinner with a friend. Liana took personal care of us and engaged with us at just the right level. The short ribs were super tender and flavorful and my friend said the seafood pasta was seasoned perfectly. The eclectic wine list worked very well with our dinner choices. The Basque cheesecake was the perfect capper. Highly recommend.“
“Denver Omelet - 4 eggs so it's huge, with hash browns, toast & coffee. The omelet and hash browns came out semi-warm, but I think that was the service. I also shouldn't have an empty cup of coffee or water to refill. For their prices, I'd prefer they semi hover. Mid-morning, they were not busy.“
“A fast paced, comforting cafe. Pro-TIP - Sit at the counter for parties of 1 or 2 and skip the waitlist Service: Fast - almost immediate, kind Food: The food came out so fast! It was definitely appreciated. I ordered the Protein Scramble ($18.50) with avocado ($2.50) and a side of fruit and sourdough toast that comes pre buttered. Overall, it hit the spot for my Sunday breakfast, and I was able to take some home for my Sunday snack. Plus: they have healthy, protein focused options, and they have a section for half meals at discounted prices (e.g. half a serving off an eggs benedict for $13). Drinks: Extensive mimosa, michelada, and alcoholic coffee options! My friend ordered the Hazlenut Mocha with Baileys and whipped cream - deliciously dense and that little twist of a taste from the liqueur.“
“Stephen was five stars. Excellent host amazing. Enjoy the stay drinking at the spot was delightful. He made me feel appreciated along with my whole whole group as well. Introduce us to multiple ideas that I never thought I could try. I really like the white peach and the cutout V3.“
“The flavors in this ice cream shop are very flavorful and unique. There are certain times of the day that the line is long but it’s worth coming here. I say that this ice cream shop stands out because of how they handcrafted ice cream. I’ve begin to wonder what ingredients they use to make ice cream like this, because I have gotta admit that they did a good job in preparing them. There are much flavors I still need to try lol“
“Ordered 4 drinks (all iced) : Coconut latte, cinnamon latte, rose latte, and pineapple passion sparkling water, im not much of a coffee person (i ordered the pineapple passion) but they were all very good! Went on a saturday around 3pm and it was busy in there but the staff did a great job handling all the orders. Cashier was very friendly and helpful with recommendations and the young lady calling out the ready orders was also friendly <3“
“Ube coffee and peanut butter latte were delicious with homemade creams and authentic, strong Vietnamese coffee. Great rotating draft beer selection including humble sea and 450 north. Super friendly staff and lively atmosphere. Highly recommend checking out if you're in San Jose.“
“Love this place. Although it is in San Jose downtown which is a rough area but San Pedro Square stands out. They have multiple food options, various cuisines from different countries, coffee shop, bars, a small shop etc. Everything is self service.Tons of seating options both indoor and outdoor. Also they have quite a few security guards near outdoor seating area for your peace of mind.I always love the vibe of this place. Weekends are buzzing here with occasional live music and bands. There’s a parking garage right next to it.Great to come here either with friends or with family. It caters to everyone.“
“I go here once a week after work. I just picked up some fish and shrimp about 20 minutes ago. Im happy to say it was smacking!!!! Finally someone is not afraid to season their food!!! Im glad I still have some fries left. Im knocking those out after my nap! 5 stars!!!!“
“Everything we had was amazing. We brought two of our friends for dinner. The gilled octopus was prepared perfectly. We shared a beet salad, everything was very fresh. I had the Ossobucco, it was prepared perfectly as well. Service was excellent“
“Came on a Saturday (grand opening) to be welcomed by the amicable owner and staff. Ambiance is nice and a very clean establishment. Several healthy drinks to choose from - I am Awesome is a little on the sweeter side and I am Amazing tastes a little more earthy. Plenty of parking in the plaza, easy to find. Really enjoy the postitive affirmation names.“
“LeYou Ethiopian offers a culinary journey through rich and aromatic flavors. Each dish is a celebration of Ethiopian cuisine, prepared with care and authenticity. The cozy atmosphere and warm hospitality create a welcoming dining experience.“
“Had the flying dutchman ? with grilled onions ? buns! Yum ?Should have gotten 2 of em but it definitely hit the spot!Line was ridiculously long!!! Of courses showing up around 8pm is prime time.No complaints, great customer service and food came out at a manageable time.Loving this carnivore diet thou!“
“I cannot recommend this place enough. I've been coming here for the past 3 years and I cannot, for the life of me, understand why it has only 3.8 stars. I have tried in crepes - Tuscany and Thai I've tried their sweet crepes - the Jamaican one is delicious. The service is always quick, I've never had a wait longer than 5 mins and I've been here on Mother's Day y'all. The food is fantastic. The waiters are extremely attentive. This place is a must try brunch place because it's got something different to offer compared to usual eggs and pancakes fare we see at most brunch places.“
“I'm a SJ native and this is THE SPOT. You will not be disappointed with any plate you choose. From the moment you want in, you always greeted. The service staff is on top of it. The food is bombbbbb!! They have special from Monday-Friday. I'm here at least 2-4 times a week. From seafood to meat and the best drinks! BEST MEXICAN FOOD IN TOWN .“
“Used coffee beans from Sightglass Coffee, delicious cappuccino with strong and deep tasting notes. Also recommend to try the banana crème latte, the slight hint of banana adds a lot of flavor to the latte and most importantly not too sweet at all.“
“The food is really good! It's a bit on the pricier side but for some good halal pizza you can't go wrong! Make sure you specify if you want it halal.Dietary restrictions: Halal, some gluten free as well but unsure if safe for Celiac or intolerance“
“Pretty good. Walking distance from our Airbnb. Prices seemed pretty high but we are not from here and it could be normal for the area. Coffee was ok. Took a while to get two iced coffees. Food was really good. We shared the mexicali breakfast burrito and the chipotle sauce was amazing. Definitely put some sweat on our brows.“
“We ordered the Hainan chicken rice and Nasi lemak. Both are ok but have been somewhat altered from the original version normally found in Malaysia, especially the Nasi lemak. For the chicken rice, the rice is flavorful, the chicken is tender but this version has a dark broth. It is good and still worth a try.The rice of the Nasi lemak has a bright green color. I think it is supposed to show that pandan juice has been added for a pandan flavored rice. But natural pandan color wouldn't be this bright, food coloring must have been added, which is disappointing and a little disturbing for me. This nasi lemak comes with flavorful lemon grass chicken and a sour (acha) salad, which is nice but it lacks the regular sides such as crispy fried anchovy and chili paste with belachan (sambal belachan), which for me is a must have for nasi lemak (the chicken and acha salad don't normally come with nasi lemak). An altered spicy onion sauce with a few anchovy was included, I won't call that sambal belachan though, it doesn't have any of the flavor. Because of that, I didn't feel satisfy after consuming the nasi lemak that I was craving for.“
“Bistro Tupaz was a nice surprise. It is a restaurant in a small shopping mall of Santa Teresa serving French and European dishes. I had a bavette steak you don't easily find in restaurants and it was delicious. Even if it was slightly overcooked, the meat was tender and tasty. Cassoulet was great. We had fresh beignets for dessert, a true treat with warm chocolate sauce. Friendly service, as it was my husband's birthday we also left with an extra raspberry pie at no charge. Highly recommended for good food without breaking your budget.“
“"I WANT GONG CHA", I scream to myself every time I pass by this place. Gong cha is in my neighborhood and conveniently located on my way home. The drinks are good and consistent. The folks that work there are so nice and get 5 stars too! I like to get some boba with the fam and play one of their board games. I see people working and studying there all the time and it has a very chill vibe. Highly recommended stopping here if you're in Willow Glen.“
“"El Bumangues" is the real deal, man! Authentic Colombian fast food, or should I say, straight outta Bucaramanga. That dedication in the meat with smoky vibes, delicious pineapple salsa, and that irresistible tartar sauce. A spot that's really nestled in the hearts of those of us who miss home when we're cruisin' through beautiful San José, California. The best burger in town!!!“
“tiger tea is one of the few tea places i love going to! i don't have a sweet tooth and their drinks aren't too sweet which i really like! the workers are always so attentive and welcoming in the shop and there's always a nice environment. i really like their strawberry green tea and their matcha. i highly recommend this little shop!! :)“
